Adventure Time
Thought I'd give Thread Making another try.
My roommate got me hooked on Adventure Time. Does anyone here watch it and love it as much as I do?

Re: Adventure Time
I watch it and I like it. Some people say adveture time is getting darker and weirder lately, but, honestly I like it like this way better.

Re: Adventure Time
What they say is true. As much as I love Adventure Time, I can't really help but think it's getting a little too weird. Especially once you find out that slightly disturbing back story.

Re: Adventure Time
I watched it at first and I really liked it. I kind of started losing interest as the universe started solidifying. Early on I liked it because it was like there was no coherence and they could make whatever silly plot they wanted, but now there's continuity and backstory and all that stuff and it just doesn't feel like the same kind of zany anymore.

Re: Adventure Time
That's kinda why I like it more now. For me, good back stories (like ice king and Marcy's) and continuity is what makes this show special to me. This turns out to be just a matter of personal taste, I guess.Sleet wrote:I watched it at first and I really liked it. I kind of started losing interest as the universe started solidifying. Re: Adventure Time
I like it, but I like the "Fiona and Cake" version better actually. I have been reading the comic because that is probably as close as one will get to a series with those two. Either version of it, it seems kind of hard to translate that style of humor into comic form. I wonder what luck they will have with the "Regular Show" comic.
The new "Adventure Time" annual has a story in it by the artist Cory Bing that does the web comic "Skin Deep".

Re: Adventure Time
I've seen a few episodes of Adventure Time, and I never liked it. For me, it tackled topics that were serious and did in such a way as to try and take all of the seriousness out of it.
It's like they took the characters, animation, and storyline from a kids show, and tried to make it appealing to an older generation. (Actually, I'm pretty sure that's what they did.) I'll give you that it's unique, and they must do something right because it is popular, but it's just not my kind of show. I just don't like how they combine all of the elements.

Re: Adventure Time
I actually kinda like the "in between" target audience. I like how shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show try to appeal to adults without being too dirty for kids.

It's one of the best cartoons out there.
I love the noodles arms, like a 1930's Fleischer cartoon.

I don't follow it but I do watch it a lot with a few of my friends that are big fans and I would have to call myself a fan of the show. The pillow fort episode is my favorite so far. It was brilliant.

Re: Adventure Time
I need to get the series box sets, but there's just something about the show that keeps me from really devoting time to it. Mostly the fact that it's on when I am in bed.

Re: Adventure Time
The newest 8 episodes, "Stakes", were really good. Answered a lot of questions I had about Marceline and her past.

Re: Adventure Time
I agree that stakes was amazing, has anyone else noticed that Adventure time has gotten a lot darker?
I hope that if they ever finish adventure time that they will resolve Simon and Marcy's story.
And now I leave you with these.
