Well, for the pants I have are a nice (and new) pair of black jeans. For obvious reasons, I don't want to cut those up either.

And you may not know it, but you don't really find men's jeans in thrift stores. When a guy buys a pair of jeans, they where them until the knees wear out. Then they cut them up and make jean shorts out of them until something else wears out and they are no longer able to be worn in public. Then they only wear them around the house until the jeans turn into no more than a few lose strands of thread.

So finding a pair blue jeans in a thrift store is rare enough, finding a pair that's black is almost a non event. And should you just happen to find them, chances of them being in my size is less than 1%. (We have a really big thrift store around where I am. They were big enough that they had 100+ pairs of jeans. Not one pair of black jeans. Found only two pairs that were correct waist size. Both were wrong leg size.)

If I'm going to cut up the shirt, then I would want to cut up the pants too. And seeing how I'm not even going specifically for a changeling, just a look of pure black, I don't think I will. (Even my shirt underneath the sweatshirt was totally black.)

I really wanted to build up my courage to face others, IRL and online. I thought uploading my pic here would break down one of those barriers.

This is taken at the end of last year, during my batchmates' final prom of sorts, by a photographer friend of mine. And yeah, typical Asian look ;p

Thanks! :D Sarah Ellerton herself called it "awesome"--which is the best praise you can get, since she created the character!

Oh really? :) Ha ha. I don't know, I'm not really the type of human they would role-play as--too boring.

Anyone want to see me at 11 PM on Christmas Eve last year when I got my Wii? I don't always smile really big in family pictures, but when I do, it's because I got a new gaming console.

@Brent: A truer charity is when you get nothing in return, with the possible exception of the pleasure of knowing you helped someone (and sometimes you don't even get that). I fear that when people started focusing on what they would get in return you got into crazy things like bachelor auctions and such and the point of charity is forgotten even if those who need financial aid still get it. It is possible to help those in need without wacky stuff like that.

@Beagle: You said it was a "big smile", and I didn't see that. :P

perhaps the true meaning of charity is lost to some, but not completely. The fact that the money goes to charity is why people are willing to pay $30 for one batch of cookies, even on a college student's budget. It's why they're willing to spend $10 to get into an amateur anime convention, or throw a few bucks to a guy in a dress they wouldn't normally give money to. Yes, they get something in return, but for the most part it isn't their money's worth, and the difference is payed with only charity in mind. at least that's how it is in my case.

and now we should get back on topic.
