Love the detail on Jack's clawed feet.

Would be funny if Bino and Jack crossed paths, but I would assume Bino wouldn't dare cross Jack's path.

Looks like an old clothes washer.

Either that or a glass-top electric stove. Normally there's a border around the lid on a washer...

Then again, there's only four knobs, which either means there's three burners and an oven, or there's no oven at all. (which doesn't seem likely.)

Many places have ordinances on what you can keep in your yard. For example, many places say you can only have registered vehicles in running condition. Other places say that if you have 'junk' in your yard you must build a tall solid fence to prevent people from being able to see the 'junk'. From Miles' comment on "personal storage" I would guess that Babylon Gardens (or the town Babylon Gardens is in) has some kind of ordinance on the matter. (And since there is already a fence, I would guess that the fence law doesn't apply.)
Duster wrote:So how's Jack supposed to get 700$ to pay the fine? Ideas anyone?
Miles works for the Miltons, so Miles will probably *try* to get Jack a job there. (But that probably won't work out.)
What I want to know is what the Miltons will think when they find out about this. I mean, they've pulled some major stunts already. (Filling their swimming pool with various sugary substances, their Dad moved an ancient temple to his backyard, etc...)
If you saw the Milton's backyard you would probably think that Jack's collection was very minor. (After all, don't ferrets collect anything shiny like crazy? Argent, would you agree to that last question?)
copper wrote:So are the glasses a permanent Miles feature now?
I think they're his "smart guy" glasses. :geek:

Either that, or just his 'readers'.
Argent wrote:Now that I think of it, Mowgli's story would not be at all unlikely in the HP! world. That part of the jungle Book could simply be a documentary.
Please don't give Rick any more ideas. The plot is complicated enough... Wait a minute, I'm a Whovian... :ugeek: Bring it on! 8-)

EDIT: How about we play a game? Who can identify the most stuff in the back yard.
I spy: A Washing machine (or a stove)
a laundry basket
two wheels
two paint cans
two rim covers
a bedspring
a sheet of corrugated roofing steel
a gas tank (next to the stove/washer)
a lock safe
a tarp
an orange lawn chair (behind the "ou" in "Housepets!")

(The rest I can't distinguish yet.)

Nonsense. Ferrets collect non-shiny things as well. Like socks! If your socks are shiny, don't tell us, we don't want to know...

OK, Jack and Karishad team up to sell junk to Jasper and Jinx as humorous cartoon weapons. Delusional Steve hears them talking about it behind the Pound, but dismisses it as as something Imaginary Me made up to get back at him for taking his imaginary dolls away. Karishad pays Jack off with money from the Temple's treasure room, which leads to a ruckus in the council and a new "gold rush" over the Milton's lost billions. Keene and Karishad team up to misdirect people into thinking the gold is fake with lead pieces (and buys the real gold back for just enough to pay off Jack's fine). The last scene has Truck and Falstaff sitting on a pile of junk in the forest, with Truck flipping a real gold coin saying 'Yeh, I know it's fake, that crazy fox gave it to me as a souvenir'.

The top-loading ones seem to be a US thing, they spin horizontally instead of vertically, and have this big bladed "agitator" in the middle to shred clean the clothes.

I like Miles the way he is now. I was always of the impression that he should be an alpha male type, especially after the introduction of the rest of the pack. :3

Yeahh! When Rick tweeted "the next storyline will be about a secondary charcter that needs expanding on" I thought: "I bet it's a cat." Since we had just finished a dog story arc and all. But I've always prefered canines, so I'm really glad with this stuff (and agree with Duster: the recent pictures Rick posted will most foreshadow the return of a certain racoon dog, though is likelier that Elaine kills Jack on the next strip)!

I think his bulkier and older look bug me quite a lot, but not so much as Jack's skinnier, more cartoony appearance. Housepets! 3.0 had a lot of redesignes that I really didn't like (after all, we were already used to the previous styles).

I've been a long time reader and long time part-commenter. I just wanted to know, what happened to Jack's arm!? I think Rick explained that in an earlier arc, but I forget which. :(

Actually I don't think he's mentioned what happened, aside from that the scar is a surgical scar from an amputation.

I like Miles. Every strip needs the 'big, tough, smart guy/gal' and Miles is this strips one.

As for the junk? You never know what he has in there. An intact recording of Doctor Who: the tenth Planet (Part 4)? John Harrison's 'Lesser Watch'? some of the stolen Brinks Mat gold?
