Billy Talent: prisoner of todaythat's my favorite song by them and a pretty good introduction to the band's sound.

Not my first choice in music, but a very nice use of stop motion animation. Senmuth - Hymns Unto Sebek On the Holiday of Water

 Re: Music.
Public Image Ltd's album First Issue is, in my opinion, the best post-punk album. ThemeLow LifeSongs "Public Image", "Attack", and "Low Life" have to do with the Sex Pistols, especially Malcolm McLaren. Followed by Metal Box (aka Second Issue) and Flowers of Romance, all PiL albums.

Hanson Brothers: Rink RatThis used to be on the soundtrack to a ps1 hockey game I played a lot as a young lad. I finally found it on youtube. Hockey punk is officially my new favorite thing to ever exist ever.

So I need a free program that will allow me to make beats. Does anyone have any insight into this kind of thing?

 Re: Music.
Really depends on what you're looking for - I use Monkey Machine for drum backing and that has a few nice presets, but for anything more advanced I would not be certain.
