Dead Bodies is still the best live song. I almost died when they played it at the show I went to.

And the final gig of the year is.... Enter Shikari!

My goodness it has been a great year for live music. There have been so many great bands I've managed to see for the first time and hope to see again and again. To name a few; Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rammstein, Bloc Party, Billy Talent, Rancid, NOFX, I'm sure there's a couple I've forgotten along the way. If anyone out there hasn't experienced a band they love live, I implore you - find a way to go see them, you will NOT regret it! I'm not saying you need to be the first one in the mosh pit or that one dude that crowd surfed for more than 30 seconds (a'yup ;) ), but to know you've shared the night with them and the crowd is very fulfilling.

Anyway, Enter Shikari. This will be the third time I've seen Rou, Rob, Roy and Chris tear it up, and definitely not the last! :D

So, I was listening to a Sonic Youth song on youtube, and this came up in the suggested video list

I neeeeeeeed to go there! Apparently there are three locations all in California, and they're the biggest record stores on the west coast.
I would be in heaven.

King Diamond - Christmas

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYM7UZclvOI

but to put this song in the proper context, you have to listen to the full "The Puppet Master" album to get its part in the full story the album tells.

A good scary story in music form just for the holidays and one of my favorite albums.

Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin - Ball and Chain Live at the Monterey International Pop Festival.
One of the most amazing performances, IMO.
This festival was the one that launched her career, along with Jimi Hendrix and The Who (first time Jimi, and The Who, played in America).

Dude, just checked out all your stuff on there and I love it. Guitar driven songs are awesome, even though I'm not much a guitarist myself.
Radio Blue Heart wrote:Gogol Bordello - Tribal Connection
I think its official, this is my new favorite forum. Never thought I'd find someone who knew Gogol Bordello on here. I'm such a sucker for gypsy jazz and the variations thereof. Like this particular rendition of "Minor Swing."

I honestly didn't know it was possible to shred like that on an acoustic guitar.
At the end of the day I often think about what I have done for the world. What I have changed, perhaps made better or worse. I then sit at a computer for hours and look at pictures of cats.

Loving this sweet music Alastair, please keep with it - wouldn't be surprised to see you pop up somewhere in the world of music :D

The Absolution intro sounds a bit like Billy Talent in terms of tone and tempo, heard of them?
