One of only a few times that I think that the remix is better than the original

Smashing Pumpkins -The Beginning Is the End Is the Beginning

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59g5R8rwqpY

The music is more appropriate to the lyrics. It captures the nihilism and impending sense of doom.

"The world will look up and cry 'save us!' And I'll whisper 'no.'"
"I have known hardship and learned to aid the wretched."

Awesome!

I've been getting really into MFDoom lately. I first heard him on this track Gorillaz:November has come

Gonna go see RZA next week in Detroit. I've only been to one rap concert and that was Public enemy and the detroit electronic music festival this summer. I'm interested to see how the atmosphere of an actual rap concert compares to my usual scene.

It's good that you've got a broad taste in music, there's way too many people out there today who swear by one particular genre and don't attempt to branch out. How can you make an educated judgement if you haven't heard it in the first place?

Oh well, some things will never change - you're one of the good ones though

Yea, for the most part I listen to country, but I'll give a song a try no matter what it is if someone recommends it.

Although I recently heard a song that was country and rap. No kidding. It was really weird and it just didn't really seem to fit into either category.

Well when I was younger (like 14-17) I only listened to metal and was totally opposed to broadening my horizonsbut as I got older and exposed to more music I realized that was pretty dumb. Not that I don't have biases (For example I rarely listen to country and usually don't actively look for country music to listen to) I still like to keep an open mind.

Ditto. It was a good song though. I liked this better. It was more cry-worthy too.

So I played drums in church today because our usual drummer was getting married. I did pretty well!

Yes! machine head is AWESOME.

So, a friend of mine introduced me to a song about... 12 hours ago. I've listened to it a LOT in that time. It's called "The Pirates' Song," and yyyeeeaaahhh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RgyoSorU5sA I don't know why I like it so much. I just do. It's far from my usual style, but I love it. It's like Flogging Molly crossed with Nightwish and anime voices.
