I'm not at all surprised there was more to the temple, but I was thinking that they would find some kind of portal or door to another part of the temple not have it transform like that. I guess this is what the hats and classes do to the temple when you enter it.

That 's a common phrase. plus it's a reference to an old movie.

I'm not sure, but is that supposed to be a question in the first panel?
"If you please" could end correctly with ether a '?' or a '...' depending on the creator's preferences.

Speaking of the creator...
Rick, you forgot the tag ‘double strip’. And possibly ‘Offputting Temple Figures'.

that was about Monday's strip.

and they'd probably be tagged "gargoyles" if anything.

I don't know why but I almost wish Rick made this into a spinoff series. I just love how he designed the inside of the temple! Plus the thought of this group as a DnD group makes me crack up. Now I'm trying to think of their alignments.
Sabrina- Lawful Neutral, Daryl- Chaotic Good, Zach- Neutral Good, Keene- Chaotic Good, and Karishad- Chaotic Neutral or Chaotic Prankster if such a thing existed.
I like Pie!!!
Go ahead and send me a message, maybe we could talk about pie!

I would guess that this is some kind of security system for when Pete is not present at the temple to defend it against intruders. This place is going to be filled with traps, puzzles, and magic.

I wonder what Sabrina would do if she finds the means to which Pete creates an Avatar of his own, would she try to destroy it or seal it away? Or perhaps she has had enough of being in Tarot's shadow and puts herself forward as his Avatar? That is if one of the others doesn't try first, and Keene could use Pete's powers to finish Henry Milton's work. It is not clear what her intentions are when it comes to this game.

I wonder if Pete will make a surprise visit.

Imagining the sound coming out of Daryl's mouth in the first panel is absolutely priceless.

Almost as great as the look in Sabrina's eyes in... well, yeah.

This makes me wonder how Daryl ever got a job as a security guard.

Or maybe his cowardice extends only to supernatural threats.
