I know, but since this fanfic veered out a little bit of the storyline of the comic, it's not like this going to happen. So I'm just saying that is better giving a end to this story when we know that the odds of this happening are almost nil. And besides, wasn't other fic the elected as the official continuation of "All the King's Men"? (I don't read it yet)

I mean, I love the shipping and all, But what has got me really interested in this FF is the unexpected ending. What Pete could do in Peanut's body? is Peanut his new avatar or or he just using him to get Grape or King? And how Tarot, Dragon, Kitsune and Bahamut are going to involve in this?

Besides, you are not the only one. I mean, I am a Grapenut fan but also I like to see Grape and Max together (the same with Peanut and Tarot). I really don't care too much how this matter going to end up at the end of the comic, but I have to admit that I really enjoy to see the mushiness and the drama between them.

And for your question, I don't think that Grape could be capable to encourage them to have a duel. What I think is that Peanut and Max will develop a rivalry eventually, and Grape will be behind them to stop them from killing themselves.
