The following day, Peanut and Max open up a play at the good old dogs club and show off their awesome cheesecake selling abilities. Not even Bino could get the dogs to object. Max and Peanut give themselves a bro fist to one another for their success.

It turns out Housepets! has been one long commercial for Rick Griffin's Alabama-Style Cheesecake. Mmm, mmm good.

Watched the film adaptation last night, and it was really superb. I have found what the world needs more of, and it is musicals and cheesecake.

Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
Peanut plays trumpet and loves cheesecake. it's canon.
Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
Awesome use of the trumpet... I had no idea Peanut could play!
Of course Grape plays that role. She is perfect for it.

I would love to play a brass instrument for that very purpose.

Peanut is using the wrong kind of mute.

Those kinds of mutes can't easily be removed, which is what makes that sound!

heheh Grape is so cute when she blushes.
Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
Such a great arc. I am loving every minute of it.
Is that blush Grape's or Sister Sarah's?
Well, at least he knows he made a fool bet.

Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
either Grape's a really good actress, or Max knows how to make her blush.
maybe she's remembering the incident that led to the embargo on Tarot's powers.

Rick, I can't express how awesome this is, so i'll just say it for now.
I like to think Grape is skilled enough to fake blush in the acts, but i also wonder if Peanut was ever as forward as Max is being? =3

This is also the first time we've seen Max smile with worry on his face. You can even see the worry on his cheek XD

Humorous note: I got the idea that they go to Heathcliffs later on if they follow up with that bet. Wonder what the owners would think with paper bags on their heads and trying their best to stay in character?

Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
I think it's fake blush as well. I mean, since when we've seen her actually blush in a romantic situation? Usually when she blushes it involves her scandalous fanfics or lusting over Petir from Pridelands. Not to mention it fits the role.GameCobra wrote:Rick, I can't express how awesome this is, so i'll just say it for now.

Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
I'd love to see more of these type of comics in the future, meaning having the characters act out a shortened play/film/book with all of the witty humor infused into this arc present. Though I haven't seen Guys and Dolls, I'm pretty sure this nails the long and short of it effectively

Well considering they already did Macbeth, it seems this is a regular thing Rick likes doing! I wouldn't be surprised if he does more.

Man I was going to comment on how curious I was whether Grape was blushing for real or not but now everyone's already said it and if I say it then everyone's going to think I'm just copying and it's not fair

Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
I'm generally one for analyzing things in stories and stuff but why is everyone analyzing her blush exactly? It makes absolutely no difference if its acting or not, I mean if it was someone other then Maxwell in the role I could see the merits of analyzing it but its not so it doesn't matter why she is doing it.

Also, most of the blushing was usually towards her fangirlism moments usually. this is probably the first time she blushed during an act. Considering it's Maxwell she's blushing with, some of the charm is whether it's literal or not, which is just darn cute to guess.

Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
I'm just wondering. I imagine it would take a good actress to fake a blush, I just want to know if Grape is that good an actress or if Max is just doing something to make her blush. Like, maybe she doesn't like being that close to him in public or something.
Re: Arc 56: Let's Imaginate Guys And Dolls
The way i looked at it, she's trying to fake it in the 4th panel, but goes overboard in the 5th. Whether it's because of Max or not is hard to say.RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:I'm just wondering. EDIT: I should rephrase that last part. I think Max is certainly making her blush more than she's trying to in the 5th panel, but pushed it too far.

Agreed at first it looks like shes attempting to fake it. But that last panel looks pretty real.
