Having a prehensile tail sounds awesome, having basically an extra arm to hold or grab things while the hands are occupied with something else.

That assumes the tail would not be detrimental to balance. = P

I'm sure they'd get used to it after a little while.
I'd think a big mascot costume would throw off someone's balance too, and yet mascots can do back-flips and still land on their feet.

Really athletic/coordinated people can do back flips in fursuits. XP
"Human tails" would probably not be prehensile, by the way.

I sometimes think the fursuit makes it easier because of the weight, but i'm sure most of the skill is in trying to pull the weight around in it.

which is why I doubt this will ever happen. If they aren't prehensile, then they really don't have any use other than for furries. The technology would have a use (i.e: regrowing lost limbs) but they can probably get there without giving people tails.Sleet wrote:"Human tails" would probably not be prehensile, by the way.

I kinda wanna learn how to do that. Though first I gotta learn how to do it without a fursuit on!

I can do backflips on a trampoline. :0
I could probably do one on normal ground as well, but I'm too scared to try it by myself. I'd need someone to help me stick the first few before I'd be willing to try it by myself. Haha.

I want to do parkour, but I don't trust my balance at all. I've never even ridden a bike. I probably could now cause I figure it's easier to learn once you're older because of improved balance, but I just never had reason.

Re: Chat Thread 37: Diss Wants to Be Involved
Well I did with training wheels, but I really had no reason to past a certain point. I preferred indoors, so I didn't have reason. Now it would be embarrassing to go out and try to learn how, plus I don't have a bike to use because there's no point in having a bike if you aren't going to use it on a regular basis.
while on the subject of things I should have learned to do long before I did, I couldn't tie my shoes until middle school. I wore velcro until then. admittedly, velcro IS much easier and saves time, so that had a reason.

Except I wear slip-on shoes instead of Velcro.
I also can't swim. Lessons never really stuck.

I was kind of late to learn to ride a bike and tie my shoes. I'm more than competent at both skills now, at least.

learning new thing is beautiful things to do, it's never a embarrassing thing no matter time time. and even if you are not going to use bike on regular basis, it's a really good mid range-transportation. and I love velcroRandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:Well I did with training wheels, but I really had no reason to past a certain point. I can ride a bike without my hand, only with my balance of by butt and legs.
Re: Chat Thread 37: Diss Wants to Be Involved
@Texas: Thanks for the link, but I actually already understand all of that. :p I've watched tutorials before. I know how to do them, I just don't trust myself to do one without someone to spot.
And I actually learned to ride a bike before I learned to tie my shoes. Like Brent, I just didn't see any point to laces since velcro was way easier. Eventually my little sister learned to tie laces (she's 3 years younger than me) and she ended up teaching me. Lol.
I haven't ridden a bike on a regular basis for about a year and a half now, but I can still do it. I can also ride without hands easily enough. Unfortunately, my bike is really starting to show its age, and most of the gears have rusted into place by now. Due to that, it's hard to keep up momentum for very long.

Re: Chat Thread 37: Diss Wants to Be Involved
I have an older bike that still works fine for the most part. (Sometimes the gears don't like to shift right. Although I think I just need to tinker with some adjustments to get them working properly again, I just don't feel like it)
And it was a cheaper bike too, not really designed to hold up forever. Some parts are showing extreme wear, but if you keep proper care and lubricate everything, it should all work fine. I don't ride my bike nearly as much as I would like to either, maybe 6-7 times a year, but it still works fine for what I do. (Sometimes riding on some local trails)

i need to start riding my bike again. but not gonna happen this week as it is going to pour rain this whole week.
Re: Chat Thread 37: Diss Wants to Be Involved
Back when I used to ride regularly, I took a 10 mile route (up to my old church and back) about 3-4 times a week. I think my best time was somewhere around 20-25 minutes one-way. Though I think that was just rushing to get to a friend's house (who lives right down the road from the church), so I didn't go back to my house straight away. Round-trip it'd usually take me a little under an hour.
I can still make the trip, but nowadays I'd be lucky to make it in an hour and a half with a 5 minute break at the half-way point. XD
I think the worst part about it was that my *** would always be majorly sore afterwards [LOL].
