Been watching Wangan Midnight for the past couple o' days. If you're into cars, I'd recommend this anime/manga.

Bobobo-Bo Bo-Bobo. It's the most random show I've ever seen.

I remember watching some very dressing British cartoons when I was little. "Watership Down", "Plague Dogs", and "When the Wind Blows".
Something I found that might allow most of us to appreciate "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic",
"My Little Pony: The Movie"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eATAQhRYYGg
"My Little Pony: The End of Flutter Valley"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUKU0ANWWF0
"My Little Pony: Escape From Catrina"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXFUmSg-w6U
Be sure to listen out for the voices of Bart Simpson and Mom from "Futurama" in the cast.

a programming block on Cartoon Network that used to show anime until it died out when its only anime was filler episodes of Naruto and One Piece still hurting from the 4kids dub.

It helped create an entire generation of anime fans. It was created by many of the same people who would eventually create adult swim. It had a block called the Midnight Run that was a precursor to adult swim. They also did special events like playing Miyazaki movies.

Near the end, the weekly portion was rebranded Miguzi and played mostly fluff shows. I still remember the day it originally launched when I was in elementary school. The day before they played a marathon of SWAT Kats.
Here's one of their promos that has a collection of clips from some of their shows.

Ooh interesting. So they closed Toonami and replaced it with random fluff shows that no one would watch?

Essentially, Yes. There was an out cry from parents groups about violence in animation. Rather than forbid their own children, they tried to forbid all children. By the end I think the most radical thing they were showing was "Hamtaro". Eventually, Toonami was reduced to 1 hour on a Saturday night. It died a slow, painful death.Wanderer wrote:Ooh interesting. Trolling Rick's twitter I found a trailer to a new movie from the people behind Summer Wars and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time coming out this July in Japan:

The Japanese title: Ookami Kodomo no Ame to Yuki. Approximately translates to: The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki.

Oh when it comes to anime I'm pretty much your basic Miyazaki/Ghibli fan, plus anything else that gets attention, Summer Wars and the like. I haven't really been into any anime TV shows since the heyday of Pokemon, Digimon, and Cardcaptors. Oh and when I posed that question, I was actually trying to be rhetorical, in response to the video trailer I linked. Guess I failed

There are precious few anime shows that I watch. It difficult to watch sometimes when you miss a single episode. If you want good furry anime, try "Wolf's Rain" and "Beast Knights Gulkeeva". I think that you might enjoy them.

Thanks to Toonami, I grew up on G Gundam, Megas XLR, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cyborg 009, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon Ball Z, Samurai Jack, and several old Miyazaki films (ex. Princess Mononoke).

Toonami was amazing, Princess Mononoke is the first anime anything that I saw, I watched it when I was 5.RootsofOrigin wrote:Thanks to Toonami, I grew up on G Gundam, Megas XLR, Yu Yu Hakusho, Cyborg 009, Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon Ball Z, Samurai Jack, and several old Miyazaki films (ex. One of my all time favorite Toonami shows was "Outlaw Star". For furry fans, the main attraction of this show is the character Aisha Clanclan. She is a member of an alien race of cat people called the Ctarl-Ctarl, and she is hilarious! Especially with her English dubbing actress!

Eureka Seven: AO(Astral Ocean)
New series serving as the sequel to the original Eureka Seven anime. Eureka Seven: AO follows Ao Fukai, a thirteen-year-old boy who strangely resembles Eureka and Renton, the main protagonists of the original anime.
I was just made aware of it thanks to my sister. Apparantly the first episode was released on April 12th.
As if that wasn't enough, it seems his father has been gone for an unknown amount of time, and his mother disappeared ten years ago.

I've been watching Naruto Spin Off: Rock Lee And His Ninja Pals.
It's pretty funny and makes fun of the Naruto universe.
Warning: If you haven't seen the first few seasons of Naruto Shippuden, you probably won't get some of the stuff. Any there may be some spoilers. I don't think there has really been anything important, this show is supposed to be funny and doesn't really go into the current or past story line, but that could always change.

I saw Neji smile, which I'm not sure I enjoyed, although the show's good. Reminds me of Shin Chan though, oddly, heh.

I get to see some episodes of The Amazing World of Gumball, and I quite like the silliness of the cast. Got a few laughs from them. Adventure Time though.... maybe it's because I'm not American, but I don't really understand what's so great about it
Oh, and I've been following an anime fansub group, Zorori-Project, that focuses more on obscure animes with elements of anthropomorphism in them, like Tetsunoshin and Kaiketsu Zorori. Not great animes, but they're furry-ish nonetheless. You can search for them in Youtube. I like Gon though.

I'm not sure Adventure Time's appeal is specifically American, but the main appeal is the surrealism as well as the fairly nerdy themes.

I know the zorori project. Zorori itself wasn't very funny, but Tetsunoshin was. BTW, the zorori project is translating a remake of Arashi no Yoru ni. Honestly I hated it the moment they decided to turn Mei into a girl just to ship with Gabu. Can't two guys be close friends without people think other stuff about them?
