Now, the trailer for Prototype 2 was not the first place I heard this song, but hearing it there again made me remember how absolutely incredible it is.

Johnny Cash - "Hurt"

I've gotta say, I was thinking of posting that myself for the same reason (only in the video games thread). Definitely one of the greatest songs just, well, ever.

Still prefer original to Johnny's version. More because I love how much emotion Trent puts into his voice when he's singing.

I actually go and listen to it when I'm feeling extremely...out of it. Something about it just meshes with me then. Love it.

In my humble opinion this is the best cover of any song I have ever heard. Trent Reznor went as far as to say that his song now belonged to Johnny Cash.

honestly, I've listened to the original song, but I can;t feel the emotions as well as I can with Johnny Cash. I really think it's how Johnny Cash seems to have a different tone in how he sings it. Up to opinion I guess, they're both performed really well.

The NIN version is good, but Cash's voice is just perfect for that song.

Sepultura: We've lost you
I need to get this CD, it's a concept album based on a clockwork orange.
more bands should do concept albums about dystopian literature, or just literature in general........

Where does it say "You're so very special?" I don't quite remember hearing that from any of the songs.
Oh I'm mixing my lyrics with another version. >_< derp
Feel adequately stupid now.

No need to apologize or feel stupid. I put the ellipses in to indicate it is a contracted version of the quote.

Here some music to unwind to.

"Valley" - Bill Wyman (from the movie "Phenomena")

and "Pepper"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPH-vhpEnaI

"I don't mind the sun sometimes
Or the images it shows.
I can taste you on my lips
And smell you in my clothes
Cinnamon and sugary
Like softly spoken lies
You never know just how you look
Through other people's eyes.

Some will die in hot pursuit in fiery auto crashes.
Some will die in hot pursuit while sifting through my ashes.
Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain
That pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain."
