Those are some pretty stylish boots. The fact such stylish boots are being used for the sake of pulling pranks makes it all the better.

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
I can only stand malls for brief periods. I'd go psycho if stuck in a busy one for an extended period of time. x3

I just realized that that is almost the EXACT same face peanut made when Miles first said something to him back when he was being introduced as a character.

Seriously Rick is this the "let's see how many cute faces I can get away with before my fans die of diabetes?" arc?
Re: Arc 53: The Mall
I wouldn't call it a big mall by any means, but it isn't that small either. Rather I guess I should say I've seen much smaller malls with food courts so...*Shrugs*Sleet wrote:Is it a small mall? 'Cause then it's justified. But if it has other excesses that's hardly a mall at all!Shirosune wrote:To my knowledge it is uncommon, but then again I'm living in a place that doesn't really seem to understand that malls can be for anything but shopping. Seriously, there's actually a mall out here that doesn't even have a food court...it's kinda sad really.
---
So much to love about this strip, the playing of hide and seek in the mall, the puppy boot gag, and the faces made by both Peanut and Grape in the last panel.
It honestly seems like Grape should have jumped for the ceiling with a face like that, and Peanut's face, so much mischievous happiness in that face that you can't help but laugh.
I completely agree with this statement.Obbl wrote:Peanut's troll face makes me want to hug him

The cuteness is everywhere in this arc. Also, "let's go to the mall today" if you now what I mean

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Have you heard of the show "How I met your mother"? There's a character from that show that made a music video about going to the mall and having fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFAT8_5hPWA here is the link if you wanna check it. Also being a comedy show the video is a teaser to the character in question but it had some success in real life.

I remember that, hilarious. Makes me wish I'd gone to the mall today!
You know, the idea never even occurred to me as to whether the Housepets 'verse would have furries in it, until now. After all who else would wear little puppy boots? (Or animal hats... well plenty of people wear those)

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
The Housepets universe is a mirror of the real world so i'm sure their are furries. There's problably a lot more exotic animal owners too, given that you can just ask a fox or a wolf. "Hey, want to come live with me?"

Bourbon chicken is the best. :9
Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Hmm, grape does not care about consumerism when it comes to food, obviously.
I am with Peanut on the burger over chicken. Though I would not have picked McDonalds...
I wonder what kind of chicken Grape is having. A lot of different kinds in Chinese cuisine.

Because the gimcrack trinkets they want to make you believe are essential for a fulfilled life and a vital necessity like food are obviously the same.

Bah my answer to rampart consumerism is to get the cheapest when possible. I mean who needs to buy $200 jeans. Then again I am guilty of buying things I don't need, mainly decor and entertainment.

I think Grape is channeling a little bit of George A. Romero with those statements.

No mall I've ever been to had any Asian food that wasn't Chinese, so probably.

Re: Arc 53: The Mall
Yes it's chinese food. Over here every mall has some kind of asian food, from japanese to chinese, to indian etc... . It's really great a shame that to taste the "real" food you have to go to some asian country ... or have an asian friend who knows how to prepare it correctly . Btw Grape seems to be a fan of great philosophical thoughts, she's got a point though about the consumerism but, like any good western, gives in to temptation just kiding.
Re: Arc 53: The Mall
That mall appears to be populated by dementors.

Grape would find a way to make that seem ignorant, and then immediately contradict herself.Sansash wrote:does Rick think it would have been better had he eaten the cockroach?
Rick would have to make peace with the roach and permit its family a small nation surrounding an ancient twinkie, which they will worship as a delicious, holy artifact.
Re: Arc 53: The Mall
The biggest one out here actually has two Asian food places, can't remember for the life of me what the names are, but one is Chinese and the other is a mix of Japanese, Chinese and Korean foods...makes for an interesting menu to look at, sadly none of the stuff they serve works for me. *Holds up a picky eater sign* So yeah...Sleet wrote:No mall I've ever been to had any Asian food that wasn't Chinese, so probably.
And it's funny, for all the malls I've been to, not a single one of them has had a McDonald's in it, Wendy's, Chick-fil-a even a Taco Bell in one, but never a McDonald's. I must be going to all the wrong malls.
This, the imagery of this just made my day, thank you.RootsofOrigin wrote:Rick would have to make peace with the roach and permit its family a small nation surrounding an ancient twinkie, which they will worship as a delicious, holy artifact

A lol and they shall become a rebellious and decadent nation, and the wrath of the fruit cake will descent upon them and there will much wailing and gnashing of mandibles.
