 Just realized it, cannot unsee. Grape looks like a character from a video-game. Specifically Mia from .Hack.   Inspiration for her Purpleness explained? Or maybe it was just for the pun "Purrrrple"? (Zorori would be proud of that one...)

But seriously, I highly doubt it. Don't even think Rick knows anything about the .Hack series in general. And Grape isn't one of those characters that needs other inspirational work to create.

Re: Just realized it, cannot unsee. Yeah, it's definitely a cool find, but I'm fairly certain the purpleness' explanation is as simple as having the main characters' names come out to Peanut Butter and Grape Jelly Sandwich.

Re: Just realized it, cannot unsee. I don't think that's what rick was thinking of but, eh, If you could do a convincing Maxwell=Hermit because he went to the future and came back in time to copy the idea then we'd be getting somewhere.
