Housepets! first flash animation.
Housepets! first flash animation.
I'm pretty sure this is the first ever, its drawn in housepets style and is my character in the RP forums walking, it shows a little of his chest and his head.
Click
I know it fails to other peoples stuff, but hey, its my second animation on flash ever.
Also, if you have any ideas, then please tell me, i would love to try and make them. But dont rely on me, i mean, i just started flash.
(Omg i just looked at the animation and noticed the background, it doesnt show up in the original, maybe because its fullscreen? :=()

Re: Housepets! first flash animation.
It got attacked and destroyed by the site.
Never upload a file to share on a site that lets other users vote to remove content.
Not at all as friendly as Youtube and most other sites.
Perhaps you can find a more appropriate place to upload it?
*beams at ReCreate's home server*
EDIT: Also, the user attitude and images depicted in that site aren't exactly within the forum rating.
It would perhaps be best not to link to it on these forums.

We'll see what the others can come up with when they find this thread.
I personally do not know of a basic hosting service for flash files.

I mean, is the animation decent? I want peoples feedback on how I can improve the animations I make. I don't mind constructive criticism. But don't go " I hate it" that doesn't help me at all.

It is cute !
I don't really think anything is wrong, but you can add a lot to future attempts.
Try challenging yourself with a full body animation and possibly a moving background to go with it.
Also, are you using the trial of Flash CS4 Professional, or did you fork over the $300 for it?
College student discounts work wonders if you are looking to purchase it.

Re: Housepets! first flash animation.
I definitely like it. It's really cute
The thing I notice most is the grey line that separates his headfur from his head. It stands out (since it's colored differently), but it doesn't look natural.
Other than that, I like the character. He's got good expression in the eyes, and it matches his posture. The mouth line doesn't extend all the way around the muzzle, but as it's in cartoon style it doesn't bother me that much (same for the sparse background and lack of shading )
It's at that level where all parts move independently of the whole. This is technique that gets improved upon as your skills in animation grow.
Overall the look is very nice, and it has a great transition. I hope to see more of this. ^^

Does nobody here know how Newgrounds works?
All submissions have to have a minimum amount of content and a minimum rating in order to remain on the site. If it's bad or there's no significant content, it will be flagged and blammed.

Oh wait, Apple doesn't believe in Flash.
For such a trendy company, they sure don't know what consumers actually want .

Re: Housepets! first flash animation.
I never really even tried to get into the animation part of flash, I barely know how to use it(What I know the best is actionscript) It's kind of impressive. I don't know how to do this myself.
Also, what version of flash do you use/have? I use CS4(how I acquired it, do not ask) and plan on getting CS5 soon.
