I just wanted to point something out:
1) Back in the PETA arc, everyone was like "Hey, Fox has been kidnapped before! How'd that happen?"
2) In the cast page, there's a note about Max's earbite. Also, the comic makes note of him living in a shelter.
3) Fox has, in fact, been kidnapped.
4) Max has not yet lost that bit of ear in this, and seems to be a stray.

WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN?

Max is not a stray he just doesn't like Collars. I bet hes about to lose that chunk of his ear, either by Grape doing it or Fox doing it.

Ok then this stranger is weird very very weird. Also Fluffy bites Max's Ear

Edit: Of course that could actually be a Red Herring that Rick is setting up and it really is either Grape or Fox.

This is what I'm thinking right now.

Also, kinda funny how Grape seems to be the only one why isn't completely terrified.

Red Herring?
A Red Herring is a clue in a story to throw the readers off from the real answer basically.

Well, Fox sure turned out to be such a poser after all. I suggest we give the black trenchcoat to Grape instead.

All Fluffy ever wanted to do was sing to you guys. Then you left her alone with a stranger for who knows how many years.

You monsters.

On a serious note, grape and max peeking out of the door was cute, and so was poor Fox's nervousness. Makes me wish he was a K-9 dog at this point.

Or something embarrassing.

Also, man this strip threw me for a loop. I had no freakin' clue what was going to happen from the start, but this just kinda blew any expectations I may have had out of the water. O___o (And apparently they landed in a different body of water which happens to have a Fluffy in it. Yikes.)

I love how Grape never seems to care much. She is such a leader. No wonder none of them thought she was a girl at first. I guess this is why Fox is so down to earth now. I wish Max and Fox had had more interaction before this so we could see how this affected them....

Fluffy the Alligator is so cute! No wonder her owner got her such cute new toys to play with!

Dog up will now be a part of my permanent vocabulary..... that would be an awesome little mini book to sell. The Housepets! Lexicon!

Rick always does that, every time people come up with all kinds of theories about how the arc will progress he makes a twist that no one could have foreseen. I wonder if he purposely reads these threads to deliberately surprise us. Don't mistake me for complaining, I think its brilliant, personally.
I find the idea that this strange human character brings living animals as "toys" for its pet alligator disturbing, makes one wonder just how long this trend has been going for.

I highly doubt an alligator could do that to a cat. the bite mark is too small.

I still think it's about the right size for someone Grape's size or possibly a rat. Which makes me think:

*dungeon music*
Our crew will have to fight across a sea of rats to escape this dungeon!

Then again does Max's ear have the shape of what a cat's bite would look like? For some strange reason it reminds me of a human jaw bite...

I like the lack of predictability as well.

I love how Rick keeps inventing new ways to say words that are used to express shocked emotion.
"Carp," "Oh my Dog," and my personal favorite, "son of a charming young woman!"

Well, technically, I'm fairly certain he didn't "invent" any of those words/phrases. He may have come up with them on his own (or he may have borrowed them from friends or people that inspire him artistically), but they've definitely been used before. I know a guy back in my high school when I was in 7th grade used to say "carp" in place of "crap" aaaaall the time, and "son of a charming young woman!" is actually quite a bit more commonly used than you might think. And "Oh my Dog", I think, has been around for as long as cartoons involving talking dogs have been around (possibly longer than that).

It all definitely fits in quite well with the humor of the comic, but it's hardly fair to give Rick full credit for them.

No no. I said "inventing new ways to SAY them." I know we can't really give Rick credit for "creating" those...

Or can we? O.o

I think with that he was trying to look good in front of Bino. Though why he even hangs out with him is kind of a mystery as he said all the dogs basically hate Bino. And heck why Bino is the leader of the club is kind of dumb for the same reason, even with him being related to Fido, they could just kick him out either with a vote or heck if not that just do it physically and tell him not to come back. Or at very minimum take his leadership role away.
