I put them down on my christmas list with a lot of emphasis on bad things happening if I don't get both of the comics and now I guess I just wait and hope.

Also, sorry for the smartphone quality. ^^"

Quick review: "Housepets! book 2 is awesome! Buy it!"

Even if it's weird to see darker/unatural colors than on my screen... (RGB to CMYK problems?)

I think already said that my brother gave me book 2, Housepets! Hope They Don't Get Eaten for Christmas but I'll say it again. It's really fun to read and I'm glad that he did order it and gave it to me. I liked the short story, all the new artwork, and the comics. As far as print quality goes, I say that there's a significant improvement from the first book. The colors are rich, the black lines are bold not faded, and most importantly, the lettering is crisp and legible. Now I just have to wait for Book Three to come out.

There's some people who still say the dark scenes are too dark and the colors unnatural because of an error in the RGB-CMYK conversion process. That seems like such a weird claim becuase the colors never looked dull or faded. I think the RGB-CMYK conversion error that was in the first book (the colors were faded and the CMYK layers were not always properly registered.) was already fixed by the time the second book came out. The problem with colors being unnatural or dark seem to disappear when I held the book up to a light bulb. It made me wonder how accurate the monitor used during the drawing really was. It's very possible that the screen was too bright rather than the prints being too dark. If it ever felt like you were burning your retina out while you stared at the screen for a long time, then the screen was too bright. That is often the case when the monitor is set to its default settings. It's made that bright because the brighter monitors seem to look better in the same way that louder recordings seem to sound better. Now, there could still be a mismatch with the printer profiles or some RGB-CMYK conversion error such as a color being out of the CMYK gamut but I think it helps to make sure that the display monitor is accurate and , in general, rule out other potential causes. I'm sorry if this is a bit too bothersome and not as helpful as I hoped it would be.
