As much as I like to agree for a punishment system if it's aimed for better punctuality next time, but I'm particularly worried about its possible side effect if we actually implement that: for one, it might discourage others, both who participate and those who're late, or simply more of a reason to not join in the future, now I'm not saying that we can't be strict in the events, but for now, the more the merrier. As mentioned, we would try to tolerate the people who are late as much as possible, and also ask the one who haven't got their drawings to be a tad more patient as well, we would be neutral and assume those who're late have their own valid reasons, and hope the others understand as well. So try to keep it a mutual relationship and we should be good.

While it's understandable that unexpected things get in the way, or you simply have a case of artist's block, something like this does need to be implemented. I've talked with Star and a couple others and it seems like this would work out rather well. Maybe to give a little.. kick out of that funk some of us are in. XP

I think some of you guys are taking this to seriously ;P sure someone may be a little late, or not draw to well, or make a few mistakes, but come on, its free =) just for fun. It's not commissions or anything. I highly disagree with a punishment system for late entries, only that someone wouldn't be able to enter a new one till they finished the old one. So take it easy =) and have fun.

About the punishment system, perhaps the punishment can be applicable to repeat offenders only? It would give a great deal of leniency while at the same time enforcing a bit of discipline. Just tossing ideas around here.

Yes, this sounds like a good idea. It might be best if we all discuss this in the IRC or something and get a good, general rule down for it.

Might I suggest the system only be used when a person does not notify that he will be late with his work.
I don't see the harm in people being a few days over time with there work as long as the creators of the SSD event knows what is going on AND how much later he is going to be.

It's one thing to not be on time, it's a second to let the people organize this scratch there head and not let them know what you are up to.
Just send a PM saying: "I will probably not make it for sunday, hoping I can post them on Monday, go on without me"

It is about time that we implement some kind of punishment system as more and more decides to deliver late. There are fewer people this round, and yet more are being late. That is really not great.

Yes, I am all up for a system which have a lot of leniency, because I would like not to have to punish anyone.
Some excuses have just been used too much. Like, using the deadline as an excuse. It have never been changed (fair enough, I give you that it wasn't clearly described for the first round), and yet some continue to believe that it is 12 PM PST (or some other timezone in the US) and not GMT. This round we even placed a link to a site where you could calculate the correct time for your timezone. So, sorry guys, but it is really not a valid excuse anymore.

As Souji said, we will discuss it over IRC to see what we will decide.

We should probably gather the 'council' together on the Irc and disscuss it and see what we come up with, we will take all your ideas and opinions into account.

Signup closes: 7th of December at 12 PM GMT
Start: 11th of December at 12 PM GMT
End: 18th of December at 12 PM GMT

Normally it would be from the 18th to the 25th, but then it would be over Christmas. Most probably do not have time there, so we have decided to do it a week earlier. However, that means that the signup period is shorter than usual :I
