Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
I fully support this idea. I'd love to get some more backstory on the pack.

Wonder how Jack got his epithet. It can't be because he has one arm since he has four fingers intact, get what I'm saying?

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
When I initially saw the new strip this morning, I had to do a double take to notice Jack's missing arm, and I didn't even notice Uncle Deadeye was blind until I reread it when I wasn't still waking up. I usually don't check the tags so I had no clue. Man, even in Housepets, wolves are srs bizins.

i know it's stupid to be mentioning this but it just occurred to me that about 90% of the characters have the same hairstyle (the top of their head, not their whole body).

I rather not see it change, honestly. It's natural for them. However, i would like to see them groom it once in awhile. Only cats groom though. I bet Dogs go through the human ways of grooming

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
Personally, I think hair on anthros looks really bizarre, especially when it's glaringly different from the rest of the fur (blond on a red fox, etc). Same goes for critters like lions and hyenas having their mane styled/permed/whatever.
You know, Uncle Deadeye may not be blind after all, since "deadeye" is slang for a sharpshooter. Or maybe he was an excellent hunter when he was younger. Or he's just good at whacking bad pups with that stick!

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
Ah, sorry. I don't know why I always assume people will get references like that. It's a Naruto reference. The Hyuuga are a clan of people with a hereditary ability called the "Byakugan" (I might be spelling that wrong; haven't watched the show in foooreeever) which, aesthetically, makes them look like they have no pupils when the ability is inactive. Here, this is a pic from the anime: >> Clicky<<

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
Just going to take this time to make a prediction. Through the entirety of this arc, none of these new characters will reappear. More and more will be introduced, often three to five at a time, until all of the readers' heads explode.

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
incorrect: there are only 15 wolves in the pack. 1) Miles, 2) Lucretia, 3) Lucretia's mother, 4) Daryl, 5) other Daryl, 6) Rockstar Hawk, 7) Deathaxe 2, 8) unnamed wolf cub, 9) Cousin Rodney, 10) Snow, 11) Uncle Deadeye, 12) "four finger discount" Jack, 13) Natalie, 14) Elaine, and 15) Poncho. We've already met all of the wolves. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
Lol. I'm about 200 episodes behind in the anime; haven't watched it in almost 4 years now. I'm closer to being caught up in the manga, but even that I'm -way- behind. The series has just dragged on way too long for my tastes. Personally, I would've been okay if they'd ended it before Shippuden even came out. Buuuuut that's super off-topic, sooo... Poncho is a cute wolf. Yes, he is. :3

Re: Arc 49: A Holiday at the Zoo
I'm okay with that. so you unofficially say that that is officially the name currently being used by the cubs. but can it really be called "official" within the comic before they're old enough to actually choose? so would it actually be unofficially their official unofficial names? ... my brain hurts.

What makes you think I'm not planning anything?
And the name thing is pretty simple to understand: the cub is too young to have an actual name yet, but his current frontrunner is Darth Vader Sanchez. And this fact is canon.

Heh heh... I like how the wolf on the very left of the panel is staring off into the distance. It's the classic, "I have to leave you darling... and I may never come back," look.
That, and he might be blind. Which makes me feel horrible now. ... AWK *brick'd*
