And who said anything about the next arc being for King? (I want that too, it would be so fitting, but I have my doubts now, and I don't wish to be disappointed.)

It doesn't have to be in an arc. It could be like the first Christmas comic which included many characters. 1 or 2 frames is all that is required for the scenario I made up that will most likely not happen.

It could be like in that winter arc, when many characters had a chance to appear. I do hope for King and Bailey to be together now.
