Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I always liked tradegy with mystery. If someone turns the tradegy into a mystery, it can result in making the tradegy more lighter than a actual tradegy which i find is usually rough when unchecked.
Also: I think the squirrel reminds me of Plucky Duck.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Fox doesn't know anything about the bizarre goings-on in Babylon Gardens. Has he had any major interaction with Tarot or Sabrina? Everyone knows Tarot is a fortune teller but I'm pretty sure most of them haven't seen her throwing green energy ribbons around while searching for the remote control. This really is completely out of left field for a simple, happy husky puppy. Edit: I think that's the first time we've seen Fox's tail curl like a proper husky's!

I think its at least possible that he knows about Magic and just really, really doesn't like talking about it. Edit: Now that I think about it Kings second Hypothetical is wrong since Pete's plan actually hinges on him becoming his avatar which while it would require him to say a dog; he could stay a dog and choose not to be his avatar.

Fox doesn't seem to know what's going on at all, which surprises me. You'd think he'd catch on to King's suspicious behavior a little more.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
We don't really know what Fox is thinking about right now. And what exactly would Fox suspect him of anyway? He has absolutely no reason to think King is Joel or anything like that. I think hes walking away because either he thinks King is going into a stupid rant he doesn't want to listen to or (and this is what I suspect) He doesn't want to talk about Magic based things.

Maybe he just think King's making Idle conversation, if your friend was talking to you and asked, "do you ever wonder what it'd be like to be a dog?", are you gonna assume they're a dog that's been trnsformed into a human?

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
Well, so many comments to write:
- I could not help but be reminded of those typical romantic scenes in movies. You know, when a great benevolent hero comes to the rescue and saves the life of a dansel in distress. Then as they wake, finding themselves in the arms of their hero, they look into their eyes and at that moment a spark, an eternal flame of love, ignites; burning in the very depths of their soul, which nothing could ever exstinguish... well, that's what it reminded me of anyway...
- I'm surprised Fox is alright with this, although Bailey has not showed any interest yet. I wonder whether Fox's answers to King's questions would influence his decision.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I think Fox has many suspicius thoughts about King, but he's like someone who keeps thoughts to himself, or at least, that's what I get about him. He's also a police dog and is trained not to jump to conclusions without solid evidence.

He's not. He's just around them a lot. Actually, there are a lot of comics where he has a husky tailIt does change through time, though. The earlier versions of Fox certainly look the most husky-like.

I don't often draw it at full curl because drawing the lines feels awkward. People like that though so I might end up doing it more.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
The look he gave King here in the first panel says a lot: http://www.housepetscomic.com/2011/05/18/no-reason/He knows something funny is going on. Logically, if I were Fox, my first guess would be that King was either Joel's pet or a pet of one of Joel's family members at some point. Maybe even suspect that Pete was related to or knew Joel somehow. I would also suspect that a lot of King's strange un-doglike mannerisms might be explainable if he were to have an owner from a family like that. We don't know if the police dogs ever told Fox what Joel said when they caught him, but since his dad's one of the cops involved, and because he's very good friends with Fido there's a good chance that someone may have mentioned it to him. Fox is also a good friend and probably understands that King won't talk about it until he's ready. Maybe he was expecting that to happen today... then King dragged the conversation into the deep end of the bizarro pool. I'll give you most of those but some of them are just him holding his tail up, not necessarily a full C curl. But for the rest I bow to your superior study of Fox's tail Or you could just say he's not 100% purebred. But yes, I prefer it that way too. Snow dogs are cute!

Wow. I think Fox just made the situation worse for King. Such an answer isn't helpful at all.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
He is perhaps feeling as if it's wrong to go after Fox's cousin when he did this terrible thing to him, or he wants Fox to forgive him, but in my mind i dont think telling the truth is necessary.
What i think King should do is take a leap and go on a date with Bailey, if she's even interested, by actually learning something about her he can decide if it's just an infatuation or the change he has ultimately needed in his life.

How is telling the truth not necessary? He'll be tortured until his friendship with Fox has no strings attached, or else he turns back to human!

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I gotta agree with John these are special circumstances, unless King tells him Fox isn't likely to find out. King could in theory live the rest of his life as a dog without ever telling Fox and not face any consequences for it.

King is so smooth with the ladies. Also wow Bailey is kind of quick to want to snuggle I guess she feels the same way about King as he does about her.

Snuggles are not out of place in close friendships; they don't have to be romantic!

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I'm pretty sure what's on their minds is romantic! Well, maybe not entirely... she doesn't know him that well yet but... she did call him cute the moment she met him! Friendly intent leading to romance, then. "Be Gentle!" Hee. It's not easy being small. But it does add a major bonus to your cuteness stats. Hmm, we really don't know if it's the same day or if he's been there a week or so. No indication of lots or little time passing. I think Rick tends to time-skip without warning... judging by the amount of people who think the Christmas party was the same night King met Fox, where it's far more likely (especially judging by the alt-text for All The King's Men) that they met in early/mid December... the K9 party at Fox's house was before the Christmas party...

That was just an example. Also, note that the snuggles were not King's idea. = P

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I keep wondering what would happen if King found out about Sabrina and Fido or Peanut and Grape. He would likely see no issue in such relationships due to his past human status, but we know that there are several pets - including Fox - who do not approve of such pairings.

The tendency for female dogs to go for the collar amazes me =3
The silence before the storm moment was my favourite though. Hope he doesn't come to regret this in the future!
EDIT: I'm starting to think she's literally trying to teach him how to approach someone XD
