Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
It's glad to see, Fox is okay with his friend falling in love with his cousin.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
It's probably because he suspects there won't be any relationship. And I'm pretty sure he's glad to see King not in a bad mood, for once. Also, Lady of the Lake?

She smells even better? I wonder what they throw into this pool. That's what probably was playing in King's head when Bailey emerged on the surface in panel 1 xD

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
The smell of wet dog is usually considered gross by humans. King was probably not expecting a pleasant aroma, but his nose is a lot more sensitive as a dog. Either that or all his senses are blinded by love.

If you hold your mouse over the comic, the alt-text will appear.

Hmm...could this be another trivial canine aspect?...or, as you said, it's just King falling in love.

Judging by the alt-text, I believe it's the latter.

Now the only question that will now plague your minds is:
Peanut butter or chocolate chip cookies?
Mwahahaha!
...my vote is chocolate chip.

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
I just want this comic to come out every day, i can't wait till monday for the next strip.
King looks so cute in every panel, especially the first one, it's the hair.
I like how he wants to humanise himself because who wouldnt in his situation, but in the end i believe he's going to choose to be a dog and think "Love is my reward for having such a crappy life".

Re: Arc #47: A Respite in the Country
To Rick: A (very) few people did mention it in the comic comments but I am curious: Did you have Bailey's name and/or gender in mind way back during the massive Christmas comic where she first appeared, or did you go back and decide to use "Fox's cousin" since she'd already been seen?

I would also like this answered. Also, is that a tag on her collar?

I am amused that it appears to be an old-fashioned price tag. I'm imagining a line of Housepets! collar charm merchandise.

King's expression in the last panel, priceless.
Looks like the love bug may have its grip on King here.

Bailey's gender was certainly there a long ways back. I never noticed until now, but Bailey had eye lashes back then too.

I would like to see a video of this panel I hope there is one. Also the comic is short yet still silly. And yay 3 comics in a row! (this one, the one on Tuesday, and Wednesdays which we would normally get)

Uuh, now I have no idea if I should add today's comic to the alt-text compendium or not lol... But since it's not really related to Housepets, I guess not!

Rick's not really at the MFF. He's actually in a secret bunker somewhere playing Skyward Sword. It's quite clever really.

I don't like when fiction creates characters like Mark Greene from ER, who are never allowed to be happy, then the moment they become happy, they die of cancer.

Now, we obviously know the dog is clearly representative of the unfortunate condition the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc is currently in, with the door representing Ukraine, but I'm curious what all your opinion is on the symbolism of the squirrel.

I don't like this either. I always thought a real tragedy actually needs some kind of tragic flaw or hubris, and if that sort of thing is missing the whole thing is incomplete.

What about Eugene from Hey Arnold!?
Then again, he's pretty much always happy, not the other way around. He's just sickeningly optimistic.
