i'v watched all episodes of the show exactly 5 times. i assume i watched all the episodes 6 times. it is possible that i'v watched half of the episodes 7 times and the other half 6 times. as for season two, i only the first episode once. :u

and also: mark another plus 1 for me. i made another brony today. she was totally, "no, it looks stupid, i don't wanna" but then later "i watched it all. it was really good. its just so silly and lovable... i love it...".

I have three now. One of them is behind because my editor disappeared. Don't worry about me overworking ro not finishing. I have a pecking order of what chapters to do first.

Oh no, I'm a fairly prolific fanfic writer. I have one novel-length MLP fic under my belt and am currently working on it's sequel, and have written about half a dozen short stories and ficlets. On DA I'm known as Solaris90 if you want to look me up.

no, but i do like to think you get points each time you "bronify" someone.
if we were to keep score, i'd be at 8 right now. possible +3 and +2 in the horizon.

a self made brony is an original brony. he is the one that spreads it to others. you do not get points for that, but any brony that you converted, that converts another person to being brony, counts as a point for you. beyond that, its too far from your effect to count.
you don't get points for becoming a brony on your own, your just awesome. :/

In related news, I did manage to get another college friend, who's training to become a teacher, interested in the show. I gave her a list of the episodes I consider do the best at representing each character's personality, have the best musical numbers, or just have the best morals.

You would not believe how hard it is working the episodes down to an easy to handle for newcomers 10! So many good episodes...

Talking about conversion is rather off-putting; you're comparing the show to a religious experience. If this is a religious discussion, it has no place on the boards.

I'm really, really sorry to return to this particular subject after a moderator's gotten involved, but said moderator raised an excellent point. Plus I wasn't around when things went down, so I couldn't put my two cents in. So convert is definitely a no-no, so there's got to be a better word to use. I just can't think of any at the moment.

Anyhoof, I can't wait until the new episode tomorrow! It's gonna be so awesome to see how our heroes get out of this mess!

Convert-a : to bring over from one belief, view, or party to another b : to bring about a religious conversion in.

Definition A simply means to change an opinion basically.
Definition B is about religion.

We are talking about a show. Particularly My Little Pony. We are all aware the show is infamous for being "a show for small minded little girls". Because of that preconceived opinion almost everyone will immediately disrespect it before watching. So in this case "convert" is definition A. We change their view to a different more positive one.

So the phrase "I converted two people into the show" is equivalent to "I got two people to like the show." or "I got two people to change their mind about the show."

Any religious or cult like appearance is merely because the word "convert" is more often associated with definition B.

If you brainwash someone, the terminology is irrelevant. More people would probably be inclined to watch the show were it not for the very visible segment of fans whose lives seemingly revolve around it and causing others' lives to do the same. In that way, it very much has the appearance of a cult.

More on-topic, Firefly is totally the best pony (regardless of whether she's in the show).

Crap you guys, this is what happens when I multitask too much and don't think about my wording. I shouldn't have said "converted." That's too serious a word. So I'll amend my statement: I have gotten three people into the show ("bronified"), since I didn't realize I was responsible for Brent.

I was bronified by Senator_Sunburst, but it was when there were only two episodes out, so I almost count as an original?

i started watching the show cos it kept popping up everywhere on the interwebs. there was so much pony, i got interested, but i also noticed how girlish it seemed and i knew that "my little pony" is a girls show, originally. so i started looking up info on the matter and found out how lotsa people watch it. so i gave it a go, got brainw- i uh... i mean, i really liked the show, and then i became a brony.

also, i reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaalllllllllly like girly shows. ._. in the anime community and ammongst my friends, i'm a shojo-boy. right above my head i got some of the fruits basket manga (they stopped printing it so i can't finish reading! GGGGRRRRRRRRRRR), host club manga and azumanga daiho. i'v also watched all the shows for these, lucky star, k-on and other girly shows.

so ya, thats how i got in to mlp:fim. :u

Exactly, that's why I feel we should really try to find some word to use other than 'convert'. I suppose 'make a fan of' works well enough, so that's what I'll use for now on.

Also yeah, I've gotta agree, Firefly as drawn by Lauren Faust is definitely the coolest looking pony. There's just something about her color scheme, ya know?

Although actually, I noticed something kinda weird, in that her color scheme is basically the same as Tirek's. She has a pink or "lightish red" coat and blue mane and tail, and Tirek has a red body and blue hair. Granted that blue hair is covering most of his body, but you just know he's red underneath. So I just felt like pointing that out...

Jason lol'd when one of the bronys pointed that out during the episode screening. Im sure the interview will be on youtube soon. He did an amazing q and a with us.

My phone is being a tool right now, (like always, I wont own another Motorola phone) and its not letting me upload photos to photobucket, so ill have to post pictures of the con when I get home. Boo!
