Friday! I probably had more fun this "work" week than I will this weekend. Hmm... Once my my friend gets back from the football game we're going over to another friends house and I'll probably be over there until tomorrow morning.Dissension wrote:

I think the week should begin on Monday, like most places. I'm probably talking about something different.

Maybe he was a police mathematician? Or he thought being a policeman would be more exciting or something. I will grant that "I'm in the police" is probably cooler to the kids at parent's day than "I'm a math teacher."yehoshua wrote:I used to have a sub that was also a police officer but he was really good at math... No; I asked my instructor to fill out an Off-Campus PE waiver. As long as I learn everything that's mandated by the state of Texas for a PE class, it counts. And I only need one credit. :3CaptainPea wrote:Starting to get stormy. Did anyone here have to evacuate?

This is a weird place for a hurricane to go. North Carolina usually gets the tail end, if anything.yehoshua wrote:How often do hurricanes actually go as far north as Irene?
The last time I remember being anywhere near a hurricane was Isabelle, which was I think 2006? Somebody fact-check. And I don't believe Isabelle hit New England.

Yeah, Isabelle was pretty much the last one that did anything big to the middle of the east coast. I do believe we caught the tail end of one a few years back, but Isabelle def knocked out my power during 9th grade. It was cool though, because I took the boogie boards we had and played in the flooded yard. It was fun times.CaptainPea wrote:This is a weird place for a hurricane to go. I was hit by Isabel as well. I think it was earlier than 2006 though, because I remember it happening in like the fall of 2004 or 2005? Okay, I was in the third grade.Wikipedia wrote:Hurricane Isabel was the costliest and deadliest hurricane in the 2003 Atlantic hurricane season. The ninth named storm, fifth hurricane, and second major hurricane of the season, Isabel formed near the Cape Verde Islands from a tropical wave on September 6 in the tropical Atlantic Ocean. It moved northwestward, and within an environment of light wind shear and warm waters it steadily strengthened to reach peak winds of 165 mph (265 km/h) on September 11. After fluctuating in intensity for four days, Isabel gradually weakened and made landfall on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with winds of 105 mph (165 km/h) on September 18. It quickly weakened over land and became extratropical over western Pennsylvania the next day.
Dude, that hurricane trashed my house. I remember our lawn furniture was all over our 5 acres of land, our flag ended up in the woods, and the skirting on my house (I live in a trailer) was completely ripped off.
Let me tell you about Homestuck.
Re: Chat Thread XXX: It's Not What You Think
There aren't going to be any PG rated movies in the theaters for the next 2 months. But in November and December you can look forward to "Puss In Boots, Happy Feet 2, A Muppets Movie, and Another Alvin And The chipmunks movie". Glorious Don't you think? All of them share something in common, they're all animal protagonists.

The muppets one seems interesting, despite the fact I never even watched the original muppets.
Also, plots for a power rangers story. Surprisingly more difficult to come up with when you get rid of the whole "I want to conquer the world cause I'm just that evul, lol" motivation most power rangers villains have.
