 Housepets! App? Hey guys! Guess what? Me too! mee too what? I Dont know  D So I made a poll!
Ive been thinking...What is Housepets! got its own Iphone App? 8D
So~ I made this place thingy, so now you can tell me if you like it or not, and what would be on it if it was made?
I, for one, would EASILY pay $1.99 for such an amazing app. How about you?

Although, the person who made the app could still get money from adverts.

Re: Housepets! App? I don't have a smartphone so I don't know if my usage habits would involve me using this rather than a browser, but I'd probably at least buy it out of support/fandom if this happened and I had the right kind of phone.

Re: Housepets! App? I think it'd be helpful if it was designed more as a mobile website, with all the usual sections (characters, archives, news, contact etc.)
If the forums were included, somehow, that'd be outta this world... but that might be harder to achieve.

maybe my memory's off, but if that's the case, this is pretty funny
as a more serious question, what on earth would be in a housepets app that isn't already available by just using a browser on the phone or RSS reader? i don't really see the reason to have a specific app for it

Re: Housepets! App? How about an app that can check the script that was used to insert the image into the page and extract the "alt" text and place it in a neat format just below the image? Since images are essentially placed with <img src=[source url]/> and images with alt text are <img src=[source url] alt="alt text here"/> You only need a script that checks the source code for the alt text written inside the script. I'm not good at writing apps or much of anything though so don't expect me to help with unobvious things.

Re: Housepets! App? Well if you just want alt text on your phone Rick or the web admin could add some javascript to each comic page which checks if your browser is a mobile browser then displays the alt text as text under the picture if so.

But seriously, is it worth getting an app just so you can see the alt text? Because that appears to be the only thing you guys would have in the app that a phone browser or rss reader can't do. Since that was what my question was about, and all.

Re: Housepets! App? Well, if alt-text is a problem, now you can also use the Housepets! Alt-Text Compendium as an alternative! I mean, you can switch tabs on your mobile browser, right? (If you are reading through the archive on mobile) Though if the app is more convenient than using browser, then maybe it is not a bad idea. Just it may or may not worth the time and effort to make one. Not that I know if it is hard or not to make one. Edit: Oh wait, the question is would you "buy" a Housepets app. Then I guess not likely, unless it is to support Rick or something.

I was thinking about the possiblilites of a cross platform webapp for html5 compatible browsers.

Re: Housepets! App? Yes, the radio play does exist - it's an audio dramatization of the comic they were talking about, not a talk show. As far as the revival of this thread... the most recent post before yours was made nearly a year ago.
