Post Things you've learned from video games.
NEW GAME IDEA! What you do is say something absurd that a game taught you, without saying the name of game; only alluding to it instead. THEN: someone else has to guess what game it's from, then they post something they've learned

ex: P1: I learned that you could jump from a thousand feet and then just walk it off.
P2: COD MW 2 dood lol.
I learned that money is frequently found in the middle of the street.

lol.

I learned that even though you're 60 years old, you still can sneak past guards, hide in boxes, and pick up 20 year old chicks.

I learned that you can wield weapons twice the size of you as deftly as a dagger
I learned you can conceal anything in your clothing
I learned that no matter how effeminate it may look, male characters wear "robes", not "dresses".
I learned that animals love to be picked up. Every day.
On the same note, I learned that feathers are how people get engaged in rural Japan.
I learned that the princess is in another castle.
I learned that "good" is a synonym for "long and onerous" in fantasy games.
I learned that you cannot truly die, ever.

I've got a lot more I could do off the top of my head, I'm just a little bored and want to get this post out of the way.
I always did like the "things you've learned" topics.

Edit: Why not make it an actual game by having to guess what video game is being alluded to? <- Credit to Dissension.

Good idea. Added that. Of course, that same thing could be from multiple games though. It's more like guess and tell I think.

Yay Dissension!

Naturally your other game was metal gear solid 4. Looking forward for the guesses on my billion~
And yeah, a lot of mine weren't necessarily with just one game in mind - after all, how can you learn it unless it's been drummed into your mind a billion times?

Prepare yourself. I will be visiting this thread often. What to start with...

I learned that whacking anything with a monkey wrench will fix the problem of that "anything."
I learned that the most frustrating part of hunting is when a deer simply falls down when shot and doesn't fly backward into the forest.
I learned that men should be doing the following at all times:
1. Getting a haircut
2. Yelling
3. Digesting ribs
4. Hill defense
I learned that anyone who bleeds is not on your friend.*
Ditto for those whom you cannot phase through.
I learned that standing still for too long without doing anything will classify you as AWOL and instantly return you to central command, depending on the battlefield being contested.
I learned that you can be shot in the head over 5 times if you continuously eat a moist and delicious sandwich.
I learned that eating a moist and delicious sandwich does not save you if someone walks up to you and takes four seconds or more to poke you.
I learned that being covered in urine makes you more susceptible to bullets.
Ditto if you're being shot at by a person waving a flag.
Ditto if you're carrying an axe handle with a spike in it.
I learned that you should run from anyone with a brightly glowing, sparkly weapon. It is, in fact, not a toy as one would suspect, but an implement of death beyond all comprehension.
Ditto if their entire body is glowing as such.
I learned that swinging melee weapons in a certain way will always kill if it hits. Unless the person is really fat.
I learned that pulling out a pickaxe to attack someone sounds very similar to pulling out a folding entrenchment shovel.
I learned that carrying a wooden baseball bat can make you feel sickly or too heavy to jump properly.
I learned that baseballs to the head can completely leave you immobile, but reduce the stopping power of bullets, or force you to put your gun away, depending on how much the recipient of the baseball to the head whines.
I learned that those without proper attire of the head are extremely poor and Irish, whereas those with an excess of such attire is that of a Gentlemann of Leisure.
I learned that the time you remain dead is directly proportional to how much of the battlefield you control.

*(Unless friendly fire is turned on)

I'm not making these hard to guess. Heh.

Since there are so many questions to go around, I am not sure if I have to make my own.

I learned that projectiles are affected by gravity.

I learned that jumping off insanely high places and not get injured is an ability only a few could do if they bothered to do it.

I learned that being stealthy and do take downs is more rewarding than engaging the enemy from range.

Projectiles affected by gravity...I can only think of Dead Space 1 or 2...didn't finish 1 and havn't played 2...but it's the only game I know that has killing things is 0 gravity.

The jumping one...CoD 6 with cammando pro on per chance?

tom clancy's splinter cell conviction per chance? Never played it but I know you get kill in one points if you melee someone by being sneacky instead of shooting.

As for my learned things...
I know that a person can take loads of bullets without death or injury by just wipeing the blood off their face.

I know mushrooms can do close to anything.

I know catching faries in nets is really easy...and they can never escape until they have saved me from death!

I have learned....
That you shrink when getting harmed.

That the local general store sells things that brings people back from the dead.

First sound like Mario again.

The second... Maybe Final Fantasy? (It's surprising just how many general store owners can revive dead people)

Personally, I learned that robots will steal your jewelry unless you curl up into a ball and fight back.

I learned that kittens can breed with whales.

And I learned that sometimes hammers are squeaky when you least expect it.

hmm, nice job baffleing me in the first one...sounds like Metroid with the ball...but I don't quite think it is...that's my guess though.

Kitten and whales breeding...my wailord and skitty breeded in pokemon once? That what you mean?

One I know and play like 5 times a week! Super Smash Brothers Brawl and the golden hammer!

Enermies always appear with the weirdest backgrounds!

Small things with large noses talk like a child, look the same, wear a ribbon on the one strand of hair and all have the same name...oh! and also, they are items in some games while NPC's in others! I learned they exist!

I learned that you can't smaaaaaaaash enemies with a yo-yo.

Enemies with weird backgrounds. (Earthbound)

I am completely oblivious to the second one, got no guess for it.

Can't smash enemies with a yo-yo. (Only two games I know of where a yo-yo is a weapon, Ness (Earthbound) and Shipo (Inuyasha))

I have learned....
That when you look away from something you killed, it seems to re-animate itself.

That people can manage to get an army of enemies to join them, even if said enemies got no brains.

That eating food will heal all your cuts and wounds. (at last one I can answer!) many games: cookies are life in Ape Escape series, World of Warcraft and Runescape heals you with food. Metal gear solid uses rations. Breath of fire series, you can be healed by fish...dang there's so many!

I have learned:
any song can be played with five buttons and a strum. (easy?)

how to create the world and life...and to be their god. (hard?)

That you can be hit with a sword a ridiculous amount of times before dying.

That no matter how close to death you are, you still can function just as good.

Yeah, you got them both right!

as for your teachings:

That you can be hit with a sword a ridiculous amount of times before dying. Any RPG/adventure game? I can be in combat for like 10 mins getting hit by a sword in Wow against most NPC's. Final Fantasy comes to mind as well.

That no matter how close to death you are, you still can function just as good. Does this need a game? In some games you get even more powerful when your close to death! Like in pokemon if you can use Blaze. Or fury mode in Tekken 6.

What else I have learned:

Banana peels are very deadly.

Dog's come in handy for all sorts of reasons, from making your actions more noticeable to finishing off enemies I have already knocked down.

Banana peels are deadly. (Mario Kart? Though I would not classify that as deadly)

Dog's finishing off enemies I have knocked down. (Fable 2)

I have learned....
That the most random things can be found on an animals body when killed.

That wearing certain cloths/amour makes you a better conversationalist.

Your teachings:

That the most random things can be found on an animals body when killed. hmm, well my first thoguht would be Wow because loads of the best gear you get comes from animals! I never did understand why wolves wanted pants...

That wearing certain cloths/amour makes you a better conversationalist. Fallout 3...I own a buisness suit! Somehow, I think you mean something else though yet I can't think of anything else...

What else I have learned:

Most people ignore what I say and repeat what they want me to say unless it's my name and/or gender.

blue shells are the reason why suffering exists in the world...

No matter how good you are at useing something, you do it the same way...any game with the skill system? I am thinking runescape specifically to be honest.

The more powerful you are, the more powerful ammunition you use...two this time. Wow, because when you leval you can buy and use better ammu...but borderlands seems to be more the choice.

Yet another thing games have tought me:

Money is eavrywhere!

jogging/running makes me fitter (Finally a lesson that works in the real world as well).

As for what I've learned...

It's ok to kill everyone on the planet as long as the afterlife is better.

For the first one, I have no clue.
The second one: Zelda, and a lot of other rpg's

I learned:
If you ever have to name somebody, they will be your friend.
If you pick up bones, then you can change how your species evolves.
Whenever you get an important item, you must hold above your head while an omniscient voice tells you what it does.
If you eat people, you get their skills and powers.
Animals can talk and pilot space ships.
If you make your monsters beat up another monster, you can throw a ball at it and it will be your monster.
Killing people makes you stronger.
Running errands for people makes you stronger.
Bad guys will destroy your home town and spare you, and now you must defeat them.
Throwing medicine in the air will heal your friends.

I'll just borrow your format for this.

Answers:

I have learned:
Meat tastes better when you find it in a wall.
You can build and maintain entire civilizations with Gold, Lumber, and Meat.
Raccoons can most certainly fly.
Armor provides equal protection to females, despite only covering a few inches of skin.
You can become a master of sneaking by tip-toeing headfirst into a wall for a few hours.
Without a pool ladder, you'd drown within a few hours.
↑, ↑, ↓, ↓, ←, →, ←, →, B, A. The video game equivalent to taking drugs.
It's a horrible night to have a curse.

If you catch a fairy, you can hold it in a bottle and it won't escape until you die and then it will heal you.
There is only one dog in the world, and it changes appearance depending on how good you are.
When you get shot, you don't feel pain and your aim is still fine. Your vision simply turns red for a few seconds.
Hiding for a few seconds will make you perfectly healthy again.
You can jump twice your height, but water will kill you.

Everyone wants everything.
It's a imposable job to keep 24 other people satisfied with nothing, so prepare for crying.

Okay only two of these have been guessed, and both were the ones I made the most obvious as a joke anyway.

1. Final Fantasy anything
2. Pretty much any fantasy game. I don't see them with an actual location for their inventory to be, ever, yet you can fold things like halberds that are larger than you away and sell it later. What?
3. Pretty much any Eastern style fantasy game marketed for Westerners. Hey, let's pretend that they're not wearing clothes designed for females (in the case provided, a dress) so our market doesn't get freaked out by the cross dressing. Oh, but what do we call them? Oh yeah! Robes! We is genius!
I'd like to specify I said "style" because people in other, western countries that make RPGs in the same style tend to do it too.
4. This was gotten. Harvest Moon. Same with the one that was on the same note, since that basically meant "from the same game".
5. ^, though apparently it wasn't gotten?
6. Also gotten. Come on, I don't need to explain.
7. Any RPG from Bethesda. Any. Even Arena was massive at the time.
8. Every game. Come on, you have multiple 'lives', and if you don't or you run out you can just open a save point after you get the game over screen. Kind of takes away the need to actually stay alive. Respawning in multiplayer games has made this even worse.

The first part sounds like Dark Cloud.

For the second... Did you mean Battle Wrench, or Battle Wench? 'cause the first one sounds like Dark Cloud as well, while the second one... Sounds like a young girl is about to attack you. o.0

As for me...
I've learned that excessive violence is okay so long as someone yells 'finish him' first.

Mortal Combat! What else could it be?

I've learned that a majority of the population knows how to make pipe-bombs and Molotov Cocktails when push comes to shove.

L4D....

I've learned that you can surf around on top of a jet, cars, and boats, with no extra help.
I've learned that it's ridiculously fun to drag people behind various Vehicles.
I've learned that people can be blown back 10 feet by a gun.

I've learned that (and these are my main gripes about call of duty, which I otherwise love) pistol rounds are about as powerful as a rubber band gun, and that even if you are using a machine gun it is physically impossible to land a hit on some one who is walking away from you at a paralel angel.
