And most of these Avatars are unused
(and I don't blame people, there's like 60 of them, we don't have that many active members looking for avatars) , so unless you see somebody parading around with it it's probably safe to take. Those two have yet to be used, so go crazy

peer pressure says: double post
Avatars, Housepets!, graphic design type image manipulation, these are all things relevant to my interest. So I tried.
You should give me advice.

I like how his (her?) hands go out of the background and into the forum, seems familiar somehow. The colors are nice too.
The only
big problem is size. Since the original drawing is so large, once it gets shrunken down to avatar size it loses a lot of sharpness.

Actually, I just had no idea what color to do for the bottom part, so I took one from The Book of Pea. Didn't mean to jack yo' swag, mang.

My older brother told me that Thomas Milton should be Mayor.... of the Universe, so I made this haphazardly created avatar in the GIMP program.

I have a question as well. How do you guys erase the background? I was just wondering since I've just been doing it with the eraser, and I didn't know if there was an easier way.

I don't remember how I did the first one, but the second one is just a layer effect- stroke. Apparently GIMP can't do this fresh out of the "box", but you can find some plug-ins by searching "GIMP layer styles" or "GIMP layer effects".

Depends on the background. If it's a flat color, then a magic wand type thing (to select all pixels of a particular color) is pretty easy. Otherwise it take a bit of eraser-work.

Is that supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? I know he's not the one of the more popular characters because he is a villainous human but he has a thick, manly mustache ...and larceny gloves.
Say, would Thomas ever make for a good Bond villain, one of the Bond villain's goons, or neither of them?

I made an avatar out of an attempted animation, I have renewed interest in finishing it now.
EDIT: an attempt made shortly after 05/23/2011, then forgotten.
