Heathcliff’s, A Subsidiary Of Roadkill Cafe
直覺....Heathcliff是否指這隻貓很愛翻垃圾桶?
星期一特餐.....Mz. Mowz題除的解釋是:
Heathcliffe was actually a Sunday comic strip before it was a TV show (I’m pretty sure, could be wrong)
And I know this because when I was a kid my grandparents had these Heathcliffe books, more of them comic strip books than anything.
Haha, those poor dogs and mice.
And garbagemen.

不過也有人說....禮拜三吃星期一特餐?..一定是兩天前剩下的XD

順帶一提,剛剛查了一下,Roadkill在這裡可能指的是「在路上被車撞死的動物」

櫥櫃密談 = Staying In The Closet
唔,這精靈太好用的,給我一打XD...如不夠用我會再加訂的

告訴你,我真敢這麼做喔 = I Dare You To Do Otherwise
Max哭了嗎?
Max:我沒有哭,那只不過是雨水。(百分之百官方說法XD)

嗯嗯,那就等以後跟上作者的發表速度再由我開新串吧
只是要整理這麼多arc應該也會是不小的功夫^^;;;

其實只是因為我放暑假沒事做:P
畫圖想不到要畫什麼便溜到這邊打雜哩~
說來很好玩,翻譯這部漫畫沒感到什麼負擔,每翻一回便能進一步理解笑點所在
算是邊忙邊笑吧~

n-ple Date....我是想到couple這個字
因為有很多「對」嘛~當然如果那個「n」是用來借指以Grape為中心的三角戀情應該也說得通

Heathcliff 那邊真的就不是非常確定了,不過他當過流浪貓,愛翻垃圾桶是可以想見的
我有查Roadkill的意思只是想了很久還是想不到一個適合的講法便給他直翻標題了...

我倒覺得那是Max的淚水──至於是裝的還是真的就不予置評了www

Why did you change Akira Sojo's name? :| (As far as I can tell, Rick only had Akira Jou, but you even changed "明" to "秋")

actually, "Akira"="秋良"="明" in Japanese (i found it weird at first, but that's what my electronic dictionary says)
and for most Japanese they got at least three characters in their name
usually two(or more) for the family name, and one (or more) for his/her first name

i think many Chinese can tell the weird point if i type only "明城", that's why i change it

alright, after thinking twice maybe it's better just to keep its origin
but u gotta know there are several mistakes about Japanese culture in this single comic - including the words Akira Sojo is yelling(u know, there goes no grammar)

So,the reason of this problem to occur is you can translation Chinese character to kana,
but if you wnat translation the kana back to Chinese character,you may have many selection?

所以說,這應該是將漢字轉換成假名之後所發生問題,即,一假名可以對應多個漢字?

話說,Dog Days of Summer這個坑中於填完了(雖然應該不少錯.....興囧)

後續:
Akira=あきら=アキラ

名前(名,first name)
Infromation is from here。
亜喜良,亜紀良......,明良,明朗,明来,明蘭.....秋良,秋裸,舜........僚(an excerpt )

苗字(姓,last name)
Infromation is from here。
明楽、明樂、審、秋良、審良、秋楽、亮、晃、晶、阿木良(that is all)

So...customarily ,in first name,Akira can be translated as 明 or 秋良;but in last name,Akira can't be translated as 明.
所以說,應該是日本人的習慣,雖然發音一樣,但Akira翻成「明」時,不用在姓,而日本的單字姓好像也沒有「明」。

Sojo → そうじょう(崇城) or そじょ?

I think that can't be last name.
我認為這沒辦法做姓,名的話到是還可能,就如同樓下Obbl所言,作者可能漏翻了。

Well, I personally think Rick forgot one of the characters in the family name. "城" can be written "jō", but I don't think you can write it "sojo". There's a university, 崇城大学, which is "Sōjō" university. Which may have been what he was thinking.

I hadn't thought of "秋良" being the first name. Sorry, missed that :P

Yeah, the Japanese was kind of poor. So I understand you changing it for an audience that might be more familiar with Japanese. ;)

美好狗生活前半段實在是真的很好笑呀
我覺得另一項絕妙之處是在於
作者為一個憤世忌俗者,所選擇的物種竟然是柯基
那種活潑好動腿短短,笑臉大眼水汪汪的狗
根本是一種說不出來的對比呀XD
(King:你是沒看過柯基咬人是吧!)
話說,我現在才知道,三神獸系列(你這是神奇寶貝嗎= =)中,
King所說的:「這可不包括無法說出我的真名」來源為何了
(我本來以為是他回答Fox說他名字那一段)

(其實很找就想回文了,只是碰到了高普考,不過等考完我也忘了要回啥了^^|||)
(抱歉,翻譯難產@@最近完全沒靈感,30章進度1.5/6......興囧)

30. 禮物=The Present
給狗骨頭=Give A Dog A Bone
Image
Alt Text:對了Biney,由於我正忙著把最後一批禮物拖到後車棚中,所以我到現在還沒看到你的禮物,但我想它一定身陷其中。(Oh Biney, I haven't gotten to your present yet cause I just managed to move the last truckload to the back shed. But I'm sure it's in there somewhere!)
Walgreens,美國的連鎖藥妝店。
白巧克力原來是不含可可粉的可可脂呀(筆記)

對於Sasha,Max仍然是不夠瞭解=Max Does Not Know Sasha Very Well
Image
Alt Text:對她而言,大部分的書內容都太過細膩了。(Most of the book is far too subtle for her anyway)
Dog-gone,如此翻法參考於,應該多少有雙關語的成分。(話說,我這樣翻不會有分級的問題吧XD)

不斷的給予=Keeps On Giving
Image

近乎符合王后的身份=Almost Fit For A Queen
Image
Alt Text:經典語錄:再來,幫我打開Fido的禮物吧!(ALT PUNCHLINE: OKAY now help me open Fido's present!)
Peanuts中的鋼琴,所指的即是Snoppy中Schroeder彈的那一架。

林中小屋=Little House In The Woods
Image
Alt Text:接著啜飲一點香檳,或著來場慢動作枕頭仗。(And then a little sham-pagne, and maybe a slow motion pillow fight)

她們總是知道=They Always Know
Image
Alt Text:唉呀,看來King不小心把他的釘槍留下了,嘻嘻~(Oh whoops, looks like King left his staple gun here by accident, tee-hee~)
