My parents found out I watched My Little Pony (Facebook helped), and my fairly internet-savvy friend asked me about it (knowing the internet's obsessed with it. She saw one episode and seems to think it's ridiculous, but is conflicted on whether it's in a good way.
Shhh, don't let him hear that, it'd make him upset to have one.
I saw all of the episodes now and it is okay. It has some really good writing for a kids show, and it does have its funny moments. I just didn't love it. I would watch it if I was bored or had nothing to do, but it isn't something I' would keep up with. Sorry.
My characters
Everybody has a story to tell. What's yours?

*hugs* I'm proud of you for at least giving it a shot.
That said, I disagree with your opinion of it. *shrugs* Oh well.

*also hugs* Well, you gave it a shot, nothing more can be asked of ya. :3

well there is, but we won't because that would be annoying
his cutie mark is an hourglass, which would represent time
a cutie mark usually defines personality or what a pony's role in life would involve
so a pony with a time based cutie mark, could involve time travel
one famous time traveling character is Doctor Who
hence Doctor Whooves
>.< All right, all right, I'll give Doctor Who a try! Yeesh, I'm surrounded by sci-fi nerds! (please note, I love sci-fi nerds, and am in fact a sci-fi nerd)
I loved how Twilight kept dropping the title when referring to those three. Actually, is it just me, or has she kind of taken on a motherly role with them? Anyone else feel that way?
mariomarc wrote:a little, but i don't think she'll ever go into mother mode the way Fluttershy did
of course there is this
That is really, really adorable. Thank you Mariomarc, for sharing that with all of us.
And on what you said...I don't know, I just think it was cute how she referred to them as her little ponies. *shrugs* Eh, just personal feelings I guess. ^_^
It doesn't seem to me that the CMC can hold an episode by themselves. The best parts of this episode were when Applejack showed up, in my opinion.
At least they did what amounted to an 80's band, because 80's music that isn't dance music was basically all awful. Just gave it that extra layer of authenticity.

*blinks, looks around at the piles upon piles of 80s rock music CDs he has around him, then looks at Sunburst* Well, no need to sound so rude about it.

I was severely disappointed by the "it was for comedy!" ending, but I did enjoy the excessive '80s-ness of their performance. I was just hoping we'd get to see them get their act together and actually make a good version of it.
Quick random note: when Scootaloo plays a C on her piano, it actually plays a C. I thought that was a nice detail.

Anyway, I've revised my opinion. I think the CMC weren't so bad, and it was just the episode itself didn't give them anything interesting to do. An awful lot of it was an uninteresting music number anyway. At least Rarity's music number in Suited for Success was lyrically interesting and visually appealing.

I have to agree with ya there, I thought the 80s homage...thing near the end did run a bit long. Also has anyone noticed that this was the second episode to have a heavy focus on the Cutie Mark Crusaders? Not that I'm complaining or anything, just interesting..
