Do the K-9 get paid?
Do the K-9 get paid?
I mean, is it a job with salary, vacation, etc. or is it more like a volunteer work?

*turns to look at Angelus, wearing a fancy evening robe, a fez, and smoking a pipe* That is a very good question. My guess would be that they get paid, though not too much.
Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
They get paid in treats and food
Naw, but, yeah, I think so, pets get allowance, after all.

They do get paid, but I doubt it is anywhere near what it should be.
I am sure that they also get perks like free medical care as well.

I wondered that because I doon't think it was ever mentioned in the comic or the forum and I also remember that it was said somewhere that the pets have much less rights than the humans do, so I guess their salary/wage must be half (or maybe less) than human police recieve.

Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
I don't think they get paid. Their service in the police is more like a voluntary since pets have no legal rights to have a job and earn money.

Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
I think they get compensated in another way besides money, like with treats or better comfort. And if it does involve money, I think the cash goes towards the pet's owners.

I would assume at the very least they would get paid some money which would go to the owners.

I really have no idea if they do or not. It could easily be either way. If they do receive payment, it's probably not much, I'd say.

I would say it is somewhat like our world, except better, but not yet the level of a human police. (And probably won't.)

Say my name... and every color iluminates...
Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
I would think their owners are given any pay, and the owner would be trusted to somehow compensate their pet.
Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
I don't think their owners get the money. It wouldn't be fair towards them. They went to academy and they work hard.

Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
Well remember Pets don't have many rights in the first place and may not have a legal right to be directly paid. But it could be possible they do get the money directly we really don't know. I just find it very unlikely they wouldn't get paid something even if its just a small fund for general up keep of the pets given to the owner.Alex wrote:I don't think their owners get the money. Re: Do the K-9 get paid?
But again, I I think it depends of the state. Remember when Fido and the others arrested Joel/King? In their state, Pets can read the rights of the criminals.IceKitsune wrote:Well remember Pets don't have many rights in the first place and may not have a legal right to be directly paid. Everytime they find the criminal, they get a Scooby Snack.

It would be more logical if they gained that when they found a clue, don't you agree?Liam wrote:Everytime they find the criminal, they get a Scooby Snack.

Since there are usually more clues than delinquents this proposal would probably blow their budget, so either they organize an additional cake bazaar or they can scrap that.
