Separated at birth
Re: Separated at birth
As amazing as your researcher are, Mr. Sinder-ella, I must disappoint you. That dog, and that other dog are not the same race, therefor, not blood-related. I wish you a nice day .
Re: Separated at birth
I can't help but think Peanut's ears came from a certain cartoon dog, but was it Gromet?
But now that you pointed this out, i might do more research to the true meaning behind Peanut!

I now have a renewed sense of appreciation for peanut just because of this, I loved Wallace and Gromet growing up. Now if only Earl were British...

So, I've been thinkin', maybe for about three seconds. The only way a "Seperated at birth plot twist" could come off as anything but cliche would be if the person is like Jackie Chan's dog or something. And still it'd be hard not to think its a tad cliche >:c

Well, you don't think Peanut was the only pup in his litter, do you? Or that Grape was the only kitten?

Re: Separated at birth
Huh. I hadn't actually expected to run into an instance of this, but:
While perusing Tails's avatars, it struck me how much Fido and Peanut look alike. This is probably due to a quirk in Rick's art style, as he tends to draw certain species the same way (and prior to last year's style revision, there were a lot of characters who looked alike), but really, look at them. While they have different builds, apart from some tone shifts in the color of their fur, Peanut and Fido's facial structure is almost identical, and their ears share the same bent; Peanut looks more like Fido than either Joey or Bino do. They're obviously the same breed of dog. Additionally, both Fido and Joey share Peanut's disposition toward non-canine ladies, and for all we know, Bino may as well, although it's highly unlikely he'd ever talk about it.
We know, to some extent, the circumstances of Grape's adoption, but we don't know anything about how Peanut joined the family. Is it possible that he was part of the same litter as Fido and the others but doesn't know it?

Re: Separated at birth
That would be awesome. However, the similarities in appearance are (as you surmised) more-or-less incidental, a by-product of the Housepets! art style rather than anything else.

Right you are! They look similar because of style.Dissension wrote:That would be awesome. However, the similarities in appearance are (as you surmised) more-or-less incidental, a by-product of the Housepets! art style rather than anything else.
I remember, that somewhere in this forum, Rick said about one fanart picture of Peanut, that he looks like Gromit.

Re: Separated at birth
I was actually referring to the "Peanut may be related to Fido" thing, not the other one. *laughs*
It could be interesting, but I find it highly unlikely. They are not even the same breed, despite the noted similarities.
