But I feel sorry for Res. Pridelands aside, he's so shy. What does Mrs. Auburn do to him to make him so shy? I hate her!

By her will or not, she surely didn't do much (to say nothing at all!) to help Res build up some confidence. In this, she's guilty...but we know Rick, and we know the answer will be once again surprisingly simple and totally unexpected...

I'm sure something is going to be straighten out by the end of the comic. whether it has Grape looking at Pridelands in a different light or not is yet to be seen.

I'm afraid to make a hunch now since there's so many good hunches, but a hunch i wanted to make is i think someone arranged for Res/Miss Auburn to come see Grape on christmas day (Before she discovered Res, of course) by either Miss Sandwich, Max (during those 3 hours) or surprisingly Peanut.

Actually if something like that happened I would be less surprised Peanut did it and more surprised he could do it. I just don't think he would have that kind of connections.

Her wish was to meet Mrs. Auburn, the one who wrote Pridelands. But she got something better - she became friends with the REAL writer of the book.

But for how long? Res can easily get angry at her for her meddling into his life, risking to reveal his secret. Maybe Mrs. Auburn will now do something bad to Res, knowing that it was his fault Grape attacked her.

I doubt Ms. Auburn is abusive. She will more than likely be the one to apologize. She probably found it so amazing that Res actually made a friend that she will overlook Grape's little episode.

Also, I thought the famous "us" refers maybe about the cats, since Grape talked about them at the previous panel?</spoilsport>

Max gets his jerkiness from Bino, who gets it from Pete, who gets it from himself.

Though I'm sure he didn't mean it to come out that way, just was 'too soon'.

I hope we get to see Res again. I really like him as a character, and I'm interested in seeing how he further interacts with Grape.

But now that he has a definite gender I can't joke that he's my soulmate anymore.

Actually, I highly doubt it's over. Grape will most likely tell Peanut about what happened and Res will make another appearence in the future to finish what he couldn't say. Well, I doubt it'll be in this arc, but I guess that next year will be seeing Res again.

Perhaps she will read the next issue of Pridelands and discover to her astonishment that Gapre become an in canon character

They did talk for three hours, its entirely possible

Poor Grape. it took me awhile to realize in Panel 4 that it was a glimpse of Res at the mall seeing Grape off. I'm sure there's a TVtrope around there somewhere =P

Max really dropped the book on his tail so to speak too >.< but hey, even i know Max ain't perfect. He always was a jerk, but lightly-mean spirited. My hunch is he was getting Grape a copy of the new Prideland book from someone else ahead of them. Probably costed him a fortune just like with the movie tickets also @_@

It's interesting to note also what Grape is talking about. She doesn't like people being pushed around at all. It's like an anti-bully mechanism. It's also probably why she loves Peanut the way she does as well and enjoys seeing Bino tormented.

One thing that i was wondering also is if there's a off-chance that Max is not only concerned for Grape, but for himself? Considering how open Grape was being to him about helping Res out over the fear of being bullied, i wonder if there's a chance Max is worried he might run down that scenario himself, considering how he lives with Bino and all?
