Re: Arc 38: Hope of the Pridelands
I like the faces in this one. And I didn't know Peanut was left-handed. And yet I vaguely remember noticing he was left-handed before. I probably just forgot.
I guess this will just be cats this time. And maybe Joey.

Re: Arc 38: Hope of the Pridelands
I LOVE the fourth panel expressions (especially Peanut's)! Especially since it's the OPPOSITE of what you might expect....
But why is there a question mark after "my life" in the first panel? Is that on purpose or is it a mistake?

This is getting weird. Did the faces change a bit here, or am I just imagining things?
Peanut is going to a Secret Santa, huh? Wonder who he got?

I think it's just supposed to represent the way she says it, with a rise and a pause. As if she's asking about her life and the answering herself. Spoken grammar is weird.ChewyChewy wrote:But why is there a question mark after "my life" in the first panel? Is that on purpose or is it a mistake?

I just noticed Peanut died in his video game in the last panel. I guess making Grape stop being insane is a high priority.

I guess I assumed he was writing something, like having to do with the Secret Santa thing....
Once I really LOOKED at it, though, I assumed it was some sort of hand-held gaming console but didn't know which one it was....

Yeah I suspect she is going to be quite a snobby jerk.Sinder wrote:I'm afraid Grape is going to be disappointed when she discovers that Miss Auburn is mere flesh and blood

Edit: on second thought Teh Brawler might be right it could be too cliched
It could be a human as a front for a Animal writer it would be great if that writer was a Dog it would be good twist.Sleet wrote:I want to know what species she is. Is she a human? A cat? What if she's a dog?! Plot twist!
Re: Arc 38: Hope of the Pridelands
and then it turned out Rick Griffin is actually a human front for Apollo who secretly does all the art and writing
I was going to make a joke but then I did.

Panel 2 Grape = nicely done =P
So Peanut's going to a Secret Santa club... It would be ironic if there was a draw and Peanut was picked by Bino again.
Food for Thought: i already picture her with the voice of Mom from Mom Corp from Futurama.

Whether there's going to be a heart wrenching moment for this christmas or not, i'm somewhat also taking a small guess she's something like Celia.Sinder wrote:I'm afraid Grape is going to be disappointed when she discovers that Miss Auburn is mere flesh and blood

Peanut is being Grape's voice of reason?! He's saner in this comic than her! That's a huge twist already....
Re: Arc 38: Hope of the Pridelands
That's a karmic pleasure Peanut will be allowed to, during his round for the Secret Santa.Kyderra wrote:sooooooooooooo, Grape is going to meet Rick?
Re: Arc 38: Hope of the Pridelands
I see a skull. Does that mean "aww, Grape, you made me die again!" or did his DS just kick the bucket?

Perhaps he's ambidextrous. Or he just plays his DS with his left hand.

Or, perhaps Rick somehow, screwed up?

No that's just insane.

<singsong voice> Somebody's STARSTRUUUUUUUUUCK!!
Wonder if we'll get to see any of the Secret Santa thing again? I do NOT envy Bino if his Secret Santa is Tiger or King. Ideally, Bino should really be given Daisy as his Secret Santa.

I think it's good that Peanut is the voice of reason sometimes. Too many webcomics just star the crazy one and the voice of reason.

The characters are all balanced in the way they act,
which makes it very realistic.
As realistic as talking animals can get anyway.

Re: Arc 38: Hope of the Pridelands
If people actually pay attention to how others act, friends DO swap roles like that. I realized this while I was drawing the comic, and that when I've had Peanut express 'annoyance' before (like Grape would) it rang false, so I changed it to 'amused'.
I'm sure the cold hand of science will be able to overcome his magical powers
