Welcome to the Family

Post by Blue Braixen »

This is a topic entirely about how you or your family acted with each other when you visited them, they visited you, your brother annoyed you yesterday... Whatever. Have fun! :D
I'll start. I'm really enjoying my grandparents being here, it's only the second time that I've seen them that I can remember, and I love 'em to death!
Edit: 1000th topic, whoo!

I guess I am probably the rudest guy here, since I don't even greet my parents when we meet. But because we meet everyday, I don't want act like a stranger. It is a bit different from the Internet, where you have to say something to make the others know that you are there.

Well, I suppose I should treasure my time with my parent even more, as it won't last forever. But it is a bit too late for me to change gears without looking odd.

Being part of hispanic heritage, I always have to be attentive of my immediate family. I guess it's just something that you get accustomed to, as long as you don't let go of where you came from...I respect my family, even if they ever disrespect me, for they would have a reason behind it in the first place and I wouldn't want to take part of it. When I go visit my family in another country, they all greet me well and I greet them back, we speak, although I always speak with their children first...Ya, there's really nothing interesting per-say that my family is infamously known for...

By the way, this topic is officialy the 1000th thread in the whole forum. Congrats!

My family is great. We're all fun, and have similar trains of thought.

However, my brother can be a sarcastic little twit.

How I love him. :D

I'm kind of the quiet, shy guy in my family. When they come over, I generally sequester myself in my room. It saves awkward conversations.

My family can best be decribed as an eclectic collection of interesting individuals.. I am the writer in the family and i seem to have inherited most of what my parents had to give in brains... My sister is, well, a "feme fatal" having had more relationships then I can remember. Additionally while I got the brains in the family she took all the looks, and the cunning... My father is an incredably smart man who has held almost every job imagineable durintg the past three quarters of a century. he is an avid inventor whom I aide in his many, currently electrical, endevors....Lastly there is my mother a kind composed and careing woman. She is the most down-to-earth of all of us, she is probably the only one that holds the rest of us togeather...

So that is my glorious, disfunctional and loving family... :D

If I described my family, you would run screaming in the other direction, either that or curl up in the fetal position and have a good cry. Trust me, I've seen it happen. I was taught not to air my family's dirty laundry, though, so I guess that is the best I can do.

I can, however, describe where I fit in the family dynamic. I am the quiet one that nobody really gets. In fact, there is a running gag that I must have been switched at birth. I am the only red head in my family that is still living (my grandfather was a redhead, but he died when my dad was 17.), I don't really match anyone in my family personality-wise, and I am much calmer than everyone else. I am mostly a loner, preferring to be in solitude, which is the exact opposite of everyone else.

My sister inherited the looks and creativity in my family. I inherited the brains and a calm, rational mind. We are kind of the embodiment of the yin-yang principle of equal and opposite. It's scary just how much we follow it.

Copper, I sympathize with you... To fully air the darker side of some of my family would do much the same...

Some!? Count yourself lucky.

There are two weaknesses that run through my family. An addictive personality and uncontrollable anger, which some members politely refer to as anger issues. We are all better liars than King is in my ATKM entry, and I can't even name the number of mental and genetic disorders my family has. That isn't even scratching the surface. :?

My family is just evil in some cases... I am the main peace keeper in the family next to my mother. Unfortunantly, she lacks the physical stringth to restrain some members of the family, that is where I come in... I have had to step in before, on numerous occaions, to keep people from recieveing mortal injury.

And speaking of disorders... Well lets just say that my family has the word "Killing" in its name for a reasion.... but that was a few generations ago...

Same here, except for the few generations part.
But let's not dwell on the negative. I am sure there are people with happy stories to tell, so let us open the floor for them. :D
One good trait my family does have is that we are fiercely loyal. When we are there, we are with you to the bitter end. We also pass down the notion of knowledge as invaluable. Everyone in my family is taught to read at a very young age, and schooling is important to us.

My family Highly values Individualism. Mayhaps that is the reasion for the vast character differences amongst us. In any case, they support my many ventures in both writing and art which have been stressful to say the least... Additionaly we have a great tollerance and acceptanc for things that others find strange or deviant....

I tend to be the odd man out I tend to exclude myself from activity's to avoid being strange moments or more piercing looks but when I do get out I'm extremely quiet because hen I try to chat its no good I usually end up ignored or misunderstood but I keep up the image of a happy go luck kid. My immaturity that I display makes me look younger than I am but I tend to do total 180s personality wise from loud n happy to just quiet including insane laughter from my part
it takes an idiot to do cool things that's why they're cool

Well, if I´d tell you the whole story you´d either go insane or cry :P
So let´s stick with me telling you how it is at the moment:

I´ve got a brother count of 3.
They are all older than me, the youngest one is in psychiatry, the middle one lives somewhere in Hannover(^^) and the oldest one near Essen.
I live in a house with him(the oldest), and 2 other people since last summer, and usually I don´t talk much with my brother because he is occupied with work and I am occupied with school and projects.
Besides that, I´m the one of our family who comes after our mother the most. I am the only one who does poetry, and I´ve got the most of her way of thinking. You could say, I´m the strangest mind of our family, whenever it comes to thinking and everyone is out of ideas, it is me who comes up with something, and often it is something that has probably never been tried before.
I keep contact to all my brothers every now and then, mainly because my mother taught me so.
They don´t know much about me I think, for example none of them could tell my favourite hobbies, also none could say what projects I´m just working on but that´s okay, I prefer doing my stuff undisturbed ^-^
<+Vaddie> ... WHY AM I A GIRL ON FIRE WEARING 30 PAIRS OF PANTS ALL OF A SUDDEN
* +SickDynar is like the fountain of youth, except with drool instead of youth.
Aah, I LOVE quotes :3

I would really like to visit my family in Spain, but I need the visa and that is a hard objective.

My little brother is 14 and is going through a stage where he is impossible to talk to and gets very angry over the smallest things. He also thinks hes too cool for me (lol) and gives me an evil stare when I try to talk to him infront of his friends.

I was probably exactly like him at that age so it's funny seeing it from a different perspective.
