Colored B&W versions [Refur project]

Post by Kyderra »

Image

Hello and welcome to the Refur project.
Here you will find the older versions of the comic that are black and white being updated to a colored version.
this is a unofficial project approved by Rick Griffin.

If you can find mistakes, color corrections or any other type of things, please post it here or send me a PM.
If you would like one of the Black and white versions colored, simply post a request and I will do it.
Also feel free to post a version you colored here and I will add it to this OP
Color Palette that I use: Link

Permission and usage of these comics:
Any one that wants to edit, alter or remove text, color or otherwise is free to do so.
For permission you do not need to ask, everything I make regarding Housepets is allowed to be used by the community.
however, the original rules of course still apply:
"No distributing and altering of the comic without RickGriffins permission."

i would be all for it as long as Rick is cool with it.

i mean he has every right to want them kept black and white since that's how they were originally intended to be shown.

but as long as Rick is good, I say:

YEAH!!!

Hmm, I was wondering when somebody starts coloring old comics too. It would be great to have them colored, since it gives them new look. At least these three four look certainly very nice, I hope you'll continue :)

I'll immediately start working on a translation of the colored version! And I'll do so with each colored old strip. Great idea!

You made them, I presume? Good work there.

One minor thing, though: Shouldn't be Peanut's eyelids in panel 3 of #1 be brown?

I've already started working on some, If you notice the sig I made for Alex you would notice it's from a uncolored strip. But I never thought about doing every strip.

Say, could you... do Deep Thoughts for me ( https://www.housepetscomic.com/2008/11/ ... -thoughts/ )? Bino looks so peaceful... not jerkish at all. I like Bino in that comic. Could you color it for me?

This color version is interesting. Nice work ! =)
But for practical reasons, I can't use images not .png (with transparency, image quality, etc.). Pity ... :(

Okay so I'm smart and didn't see this when I made my last post here!

Anyway, thank goodness for good colouring! This could have been so much worse, so I'm very happy that it's as good as it is.

Man, this is awesome. The B&W comics had some awesome facial expressions, and now that someone is coloring them, it's so amazing to look at them, and perhaps make some avatars :).

I'd guess the playroom - although, given that Grape has a basket-bed, Peanut might simply have a basket or cushion, which wouldn't take up much space. Unlike a human child, Peanut is unlikely to get too much bigger, to demand privacy, or to accumulate clothing and accessories...

Perhaps sadly, even I am not going to attempt to deduce the layout of the Sandwich house from the occasional hints we've gotten.
But over-analyzing things is half the fun!

What about Bino? (and Fido possibly)

He sleeps in a soft pet-bed with a pillow and a blanket.

Oh trust me. I've kept a lot of dogs, and they mind. If they can't have your bed, or a nice comfortable upholstered chair, or at least a pile of blankets, they can get quite resentful - and Peanut can talk.

More importantly, the Sandwiches have given him video games, loads of toys, and free access to the refrigerator. I can't imagine that they haven't gotten him a basket or a cushion to sleep on.
