Ye Olde English Translation
Thats right. We're doing this. So who's up for it?
I don't have the proper editing tools but I can help out with giving the editing-tools-having people with the translating :v

Re: Ye Olde English Translation
I'm placing upon myself the task of putting Sinder's one into webletterer.
I was going to make a joke but then I did.
Re: Ye Olde English Translation
I would have used WebLetterer, but I switched to Linux recently, and apparently installing fonts with it is a real pain
EDIT: Also Pencil is very wordy and I had to really cram that stuff in there

and kind of a jerk too
Okay I need to do all the editing on my other computer so it doesn't end up like this, but hey, first comic. I can get away with it being crappy quality.
...Right?

Where's that Romeo and Juliet book when I need it...
Either way, I don't know. I reckon it's got to do with the computer, but I have no idea how. WebLetterer on my current computer is smoother than my other computer which is smoother than your computer, apparently.

Peanut: GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPE-ETH
Grape: What thine Christmas? I was aslepan, Thou art a lug!
Peanut: There beith mice in our beloveed home and art rather terrifying.
Grape: Ha, I laugh! Quite an opposure of words my ears have ever witnessesed! Are the 'beasts' eating on their cheese too loud for thine's sensitive ears?
Peanut: That would not be the proper term for it...
Grape: Doith your nose catch an odor?
(sorry I couldn't remake the comic. couldn't figure out how.)

I'm use also the free version, but that's alright. What software do you use ?Sinder wrote: unless it's because I'm using the free version.
Re: Ye Olde English Translation
I used to use MS Paint, but since switching to Linux I've been using GIMP, which is significantly fuller-featured. I don't think it's my computer; I don't have what would be called a high-end system, but it certainly shouldn't have any problem rendering webcomic fonts. It's more likely that there's some toggle or setting that's not properly configured.
Re: Ye Olde English Translation
Oh, I'm also on Linux (Ubuntu)!
I use Inkscape (easier and can change quickly if there is a problem). Maybe that's a problem only on The GIMP.

Huh. Iiiiii have no idea. But really we need to work on making new comics. I should get to blanking more.Sinder wrote:I used to use MS Paint, but since switching to Linux I've been using GIMP, which is significantly fuller-featured. Re: Ye Olde English Translation
Well, that did the trick! I installed Inkscape, and it seems to do a better job of not screwing up the fonts than GIMP did, so I'll be using that from now on. I reuploaded the new and improved version of that strip.Foldo wrote:Oh, I'm also on Linux (Ubuntu)!

I'm implying that you're a wonderful chap that should not be burdened with the monumental task of removing words from speech bubbles. Of course!Sinder wrote:what are you implying sir

Oh, the fun...
This opens up a world of possibilities. Not only could we translate into Ye Old English, we could also make Peanut and Grape Comerade Peanut and Comerade Grape, and put them in Soviet Russia. We could do it in lolspeak. Oh, the places you can go.

Re: Ye Olde English Translation
So, upon trying to translate a few comics, I realize I'm very much incompetent at many things. This is just making the list longer. :I Not to say I won't be trying, just saying when I do, do keep in mind I know it'll be horrible and keep from murdering me because of home much I suck :v
