 Written Roleplaying
Just a little question for you roleplayers out there.
How many of you have roleplayed in real life via writing before? You pass around a notebook and write your 'posts' down after eachother. I remember that I did this once, but my girlfriend did this all the time.

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Was bored in high school and did so for a few weeks. Stopped after two of my classmates got caught passing a note and had it read in front of the class X3.

 Re: Written Roleplaying
I actually never roleplayed in real life before! So that includes writing in a notebook... But without my precious Spelling Checker, I will probably do a lot worse at that anyway. XD

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Are you kidding? It's hard enough on the hands writing stories that way!
No, I never have--the only RP'ing I've ever done has been online, and on webcomic-based forums, not actual RPG-based forums.

 Re: Written Roleplaying
I've never even heard of doing it this way No, I haven't done this, although it sounds a bit interesting to try doing it that way

 Re: Written Roleplaying
I believe that such a form of RPG should be followed by a domestic theatrical rough-and-ready

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Step 1: collect all written material Step 2: set up a stage at home (yours or your friends') Step 3: get some public (kidnapping the reluctant will do) Step 4: recite the RPG in front of the public. Have fun, create chaos! heh, I wake up at 05:20, I know all too well...

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Those steps are full of win you know Kidnapping yhe reluctant indeed! So basically it's you reciting the Written Material or acting it out? I'm sure we're not the only 2 I actually awoke around 4:21 or so, I couldn't fall asleep so I thought ''Heck, I'll go stalk the early (late for others) forums''

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Reciting is for the quiet evening with friends acting it out is for an overkill of a party And I meant that I wake up everyday at 05:20, both to reach the office AND have more time for writing and the right time for translations without stealing from worktime...

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Quiet eveming with friends sounds nice, though I couldn't help but be a little embarassed if I ever find people willing to write down Role-Play, definitely not at my school, so no signs of being able to for me :/ Jeez, quite the schedule there Val. I also like hiow part of yohr daily schedule is Housepets!

 Re: Written Roleplaying
I do believe that IRC based roleplay, especially Ironclaw, or when we did so, Exalted, counts for this. We would type and post our actions, and at times, would ask people to "hold their fire" as it were, so we could write out something epic.
It's fun, and a bit different from spoken roleplay. Written roleplay seems to be focused more on the actions and story, rather than the game part of it.

 Re: Written Roleplaying
Nope. Never. I'd pretty much die if anyone else got their hands on the paper we were using.

 Re: Written Roleplaying
This is how I feel Game, I would absolutely die, I'd probably alter my handwriting for it as a pre-caution. (or something)
