Comicpress 2.8
Re: Comicpress 2.8
I noted this over in comments, but it seems to fit in here as well. In some of the older strips – such as this one -
https://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/11/25/whoops/
there seems to be no way to get to the older comments. That particular strip notes 141 comments, of which only 21 show – and there doesn’t seem to be any way to get to the rest.
It may not be what's going on, but - at first glance - it looks like the “previous comments†link is attached to the Comment box – so once comments are closed, there’s no link.

I can't view it on my school's server, but I think that's just because it's blocked.GameCobra wrote:can anyone see the comment section? I seem to have lost it recently ;_;

Re: Comicpress 2.8
If you're using Interenet Explorer you might want to try compatibility view. I had the same problem with the comments until I tried that.
I should have noted that here instread of in the comments at the time - but I couldn't get a forum account set up then, and forgot afterwards. Sorry about that.
Still no way to get to the secondary comment pages on older posts though, even in compatibility view. Oh well.

Hmm, okay, new visual issue.
When you look at the archive for the story arcs (the links on the right side), the dark brown area which holds the re-sized comics is...fragmented.
Also, Housepets is now rank 51 on TWC. This is ranked above Looking for Group, Yosh!, and No need for Bushido.
That's Awesome.
Oh, and also, I'm using the latest version of Firefox, and I can see the comments just fine. I think it might be a client side or compatibility issue of some sort.

Wooooh internet.
Obviously even the internet itself has a habit of being nasty to people.

I was going to make a joke but then I did.

Yeah, this was a problem when I was attempting to put together the 2.5 version, and I can't recall exactly what I did to fix that.Buckdida wrote:Hmm, okay, new visual issue.

I have something REALLY MEAN to say about this but I'd prefer to keep the mudslinging out of this forum. Or at least this thread.Buckdida wrote:This is ranked above Looking for Group, Yosh!, and No need for Bushido.

Re: Comicpress 2.8
Okay they fixed the issue, but for Comicpress 2.9. I might switch to it when it gets a full release instead of messing with beta.

Re: Comicpress 2.8
I tried attaching a final comment - with a set of links to the older comment pages for the relevant strip - to last weeks strips where replies haven't yet been closed as a work-around. That way there would still be links to the older comments available after the reply box, and the "previous comments" link that seems to be associated with it, goes away. (I keep running into that while skimming rhough the archives to compile information for the "Dossier" thread).
Unfortunately those apparently didn't go through; there were probably too many links in them. Shall I try it again before the comments on those strips close up?

Re: Comicpress 2.8
Well I'm not sure what I should be doing but sticking links in the comments box doesn't seem like a terrific workaround. I'll just see about going to 2.9 when it's ready.

Re: Comicpress 2.8
Oh, definitely very limited, not least because I'd only be able to post on the last few strips anyway.
Thanks for letting me know not to bother; I shall file that one under "poor ideas".

Re: Comicpress 2.8
Okay, the comments are screwed up. I accidentally triple-posted because they weren't appearing on the bottom, and I wasn't sure if they were going to appear at all, until I scrolled up and went "oops." Is there a remedy for this?
Re: Comicpress 2.8
Here's a tip:
If you want to see the previous comments in the slighty older strips, just use this (code)
comment-page-1/#comments
and then paste it on the address of any strip you like and there, problem solved.
example:
https://www.housepetscomic.com/2009/12/ ... /#comments
