The Nuzlocke Challenge

Have any of you Pokemon fans ever done the Nuzlocke challenge?

If you haven't, then it's very simple. You play any of the handheld Pokemon games.

1. You cannot use any healing items, you can only use Pokemon Centers.

2. You can only catch the first pokemon you run into in each area. If you don't catch it (i.e. it runs, or you run out of pokeballs) then you can't catch anything from that area.

3. If a Pokemon Faints, then you have to release it. (Or you can deposit it and never ever withdraw it again.)

I'm just starting it on Ruby version. I was going to do it on Blue, but I found out that my Blue version is broken... My second choice was Silver, but that was broken too...

No I have not. It sounds interesting, but time consuming. Time is a valuable commodity to me right now. :(

I've done one on Red and started one on Silver but never finished it. I mean to redo the Silver one and do the rest of the games (well one for each gen any way except for gen 1 where I might do Yellow.) at some point but I just don't feel like it at the moment. They are real fun and they make the games interesting and hard again. You should really do one if you haven't yet you may find a Pokemon you like that you would have never used before from it its why I like Beedrill,Furret and Miltank now.

Edit: Also your first rule is wrong the first rule is actually this: You must nickname all your pokemon. You can also add rules to the game like the first one you have but the official first rule is the nicknaming one but other then that the rules are correct.

Yeah, it does make the games harder. It also makes you more attached to your pokemon, and you tend to train them all instead of just a select few.

I felt horrible when Opus the Wurmple and Winch the Zigzagoon fainted...

I currently have Chillz the Nincada, Officer the Seedot, Pecker the Taillow, Zoomba the Zigzagoon and Boomstick the Torchic

Now, I know of the Nuzlocke challenge, but tell me, when you do one, what are the rules for multiplayer battles? Say, One of you is doing it, and the other isn't?, Or, both of you are?

Multiplayer battles are an exception.

Think of it like this, if a Pokemon faints, then it's like they die. But if they faint in a multiplayer battle, it's like it's only training.

This sounds incredibly difficult, I'll try it the next time I have a pokemon game.
