Why don't I like anything!

I hate Shakespeare. King Lear made me stop being an English Major. Granted it wasn't just King Lear, but still.

You guys make me feel like I'm a horrible uncultured person.

Shakespeare is alright. I'll be able to read them without falling asleep.

As for my favorite... I'd have to go with JK Rowling. The Harry Potter books hold a special place in my heart because they're exciting and original.

I saw that movie once several years ago. I liked it.

It was right after we covered Romeo and Juliet in English class too. Back then I remember not minding Romeo and Juliet that much, but now I don't like it at all.

Ray Bradbury who is THE REASON THAT I WRITE AT ALL.

Philip K. Dick, the even more science fiction focused brother of Ray Bradbury.

Stephen King. He does a fantastic job of creating HUMAN characters, who you feel genuinly sorry for when they get slaughtered by super natural beings. I feel that The Mist was his best work.

Kurt Vonnegut, who had such genius and dense thoughts that he wasn't able to write them down well (my flawed opinion)

Richard Matheson the man who brought us I AM LEGEND and other such brilliant works.

Michael Chricton with all of his cruel realism surrounded by overly researched science fiction with undertones of steriotyping and sexism.

Max Brooks I believe was his name? Auther of the Zombie survival guide?

Who wrote catch 22? Well, him too.

I can't even think of all the others

As far as my taste in reading goes My favourite author is Terry Pratchett, but Discworld has already been mentioned in detail. I also like Shakespeare, my favourites being "Hamlet", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Othello" all of which I would recommend to anyone.

Man I'v wanted to read "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" so bad after watching Bladerunner and I robot. Its a pretty awesome book name too.

I tend to like series with good, solid plots. There are very few books I'll read that are just, "one-shots" I guess you could say. So.......

House of Night, which is my current favorite,
Anthem by Ayn Rand,
Series of Unfortunate Events,
The Shadow Children Series,
Yoda: Dark Rendezvous by Sean Stewart,
Twilight ...... (don't kill me please. O.O)

How is Anthem not considered a one-shot? It's not even a novel.

I still haven't finished a Series of Unfortunate Events. The library doesn't have the last few books, and the one person I knew who also read the books didn't have the books I needed. It's been so long I basically don't remember what happened.

Twilight is pretty good. I have to admit, I'm a hopeless romantic when it comes to stories and plots. hehehe. I make no sterotype here, I know plenty of girls that hate Twilight, but I'm a girl, not a guy.

Anthem may not be a novel, but it's amazing. Did a literary analysis of it in Honors English 1, and was a major eye opener. I love Rand's philosophy.

I didn't say I don't read one-shots at all, I just usually don't read many of them. The Star Wars book is a one-shot as well.

S.o.U.E.'s ending wasn't that great. I'd just recommend Wikipedia-ing it, if it's been so long for you.

Ohh, Gone With The Wind is really good too. Unabriged verison.

It's a really good Rush song. Well, it's also the album on which the song is. The album's great too. But the song, I'm told, is extremely similar to Anthem. I haven't read the book, so I can't vouch for the credibility of the statement, but it's what I heard. True or not, the song's still great.

I've actually never read anything of his. I plan to get around to reading the Discworld series at some point, though. You can only prowl around TV Tropes so much before you feel the urge to check out the works it won't shut up about. That means at some point I also need to watch Neon Genesis Evangelion.
