Never. I panic when the needle is on 1/4 tank. I never let it go below an 1/8 of a tank. And I usually fill up when I'm down to half a tank anyway.

I have not seen one, but the town I used to live in had one fly right over it. The event even went on the history channel, but that was before I moved there.
