That was quick. Well done, Kuro! Nailed it!
Re: What's today?
Well, this is my first time doing this.
The date is 17 November. I'm looking for a person that has something to do with an object within this picture

Please be so nice to state the date you're referring to and what you are looking for (event, person, object).kurowolfe wrote:Well, this is my first time doing this.

I post the 2nd tip today right?
So, the object in question is the table, and this person designed it.
Should be easier now

Yeah, that made it much easier. Maybe a bit too easy.

He, don't be so negative . Maybe you can identify the person I'm searching for today (19th November) that is somehow related to this picture:kurowolfe wrote:I don't think I'll ever get a shot here again, so bye
Re: What's today?
This has been gnawing in my conscience for a bit. Might as well throw a shot in the dark.
Today is Hendrik Christoffel Van de Hulst's birthday. He was a Dutch astronomer who theoretically predicted the existence of the 21cm hyperfine line of neutral interstellar hydrogen. This discovery is important for studying the dynamics of individual galaxies, and SETI favours this particular radio frequency to detect interstellar signals from potential alien civilizations.

Re: What's today?
I was gonna say it's the day Apollo 12 landed on the Moon, but you said it's a person.
Today is Colonel Eileen Marie Collins's 59th birthday. She was the first female pilot of the Space Shuttle (STS-63) in 1995, and also the first female commander of the craft in mission STS-93 in 1999. She has been awarded many medals for her services and accomplishments.

Not really, I think this game is more of an exercise in your Google search prowess. And being a total fan of trivial knowledge, I just love trying to figure out the puzzle given.tsMKG wrote:Where do you learn those things? I'm 16 and I'm in secondary school, 4th year.

Re: What's today?
Okay, wow, that actually made it harder, because there's a myriad of things that happened that day in relation to Apollo 12. I dunno, I have to pass on this one I think, because if not, I'll be taking potshots that are likely to miss and more likely to annoy xD
It's either the pranks, the attempted selfie, the Moon museum, the busted camera, or none at all xD

I usually just go to the Wikipedia page for the date in question, it's pretty useful if you know a general range of years
on November 19th, 1969, the apollo 12 mission landed and Pete Conrad and Alan Bean became the 3rd and 4th humans to walk on the moon

Re: What's today?
I think this can be counted as correct. I've been looking for Charles „Pete“ Conrad, Jr. who was the 3rd man on the moon and won a $500 bet against an Italian journalist that he could say on the moon whatever he want ("Whoopee! Man, that may have been a small one for Neil, but that's a long one for me"). And who said the moon surface is "soft and queasy".RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:on November 19th, 1969, the apollo 12 mission landed and Pete Conrad and Alan Bean became the 3rd and 4th humans to walk on the moon

For Brent's picture, my first guess would be the crashing of a UFO near Southaven Park, Shirley, New York in 1992. I know it's wrong, but I don't care

I just admitted that I use the wikipedia page for the day and have given 2 clues pointing to a word in the exact event.
not sure I can make it any easier, get to googling

1932 - The FBI Scientific Crime Detection Laboratory have been opened officially in Washington D.C.
They moved to the J. Edgar Hoover Building in 1972, hence the picture of J. Edgar Hoover, who has been the first director of the FBI. ^^

Re: What's today?
The location is East Germany or Germany Democratic Republic I believe, judging from the coat of arms.
The event that happened there is a little bit harder, but I'll hazard a guess.
On the 4th of December 1935, Erich Honecker, then a member of of the SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany) who was opposing Nazi rule in the country, was arrested by the Gestapo and sent to the Moabit detention center in Berlin, where he was detained until 1937. Honecker is better known as the leader of the GDR by being the General Secretary of the Socialist Unity Party from 1976 until the fall of the Berlin wall and the reunification of West and East Germany in 1989.

A small information: The event happened while the Germany Democratic Republic existed.

First I thought that could be Mercury, but I was wrong with that.
It is the 2nd largest moon or Uranus, discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on January 11th, 1787 and later named Oberon by his son.
