OP: So apparently you can set up hypothetical "play money" portfolios in Google Finance. I decided that I just had to play with this. Today I set up a portfolio that went up 0.15% at the closing bell compared to the Dow 30(.DJI) going down 1.51%, the S&P 500(.INX) going down 1.56% and the NASDAQ(.IXIC) going down 1.95%. Another less diversified portfolio I set up went down 0.49%.
I was wondering if we could make a game out of this. Perhaps we could set up different portfolios and compete against each other on a percent gain/loss basis. Maybe there could be a limit on how much stock we can purchase at first (I started out spending less than 1500USD in each).
I think we can make a friendly game out of this while still abiding by the rules of the forum. Anyone else think they might be interested?
