You look like someone who knows Rick in real life.mathgrant wrote:I believe this is the most recent picture of myself I have. It's a high-quality picture, because I took it with my iPhone!

I think that photo was taken long before I cared about Housepets! or talked to Rick Griffin; it's a long story, but essentially, I was re-visiting an old forum of mine for no good reason, and I happened to notice that Rick Griffin was a member. I'd heard of him before, but largely ignored him. After investigating his posts there, I figured, "Hmm. Maybe Rick Griffin's different from all these other furry idiots who've made me view the furry community in such tremendous disdain." I'm not the best judge of character over the interwebs, but so far, I believe this has been true. :3Teh Brawler wrote:You look like someone who knows Rick in real life.mathgrant wrote:I believe this is the most recent picture of myself I have. Quick, what's Rick's real name?????
Well, I'm glad he changed your mind for the better. I'm not a furry, myself, but I really enjoy this forum, which has a lot of them, and they're all very fun and friendly people.mathgrant wrote:I think that photo was taken long before I cared about Housepets! or talked to Rick Griffin; it's a long story, but essentially, I was re-visiting an old forum of mine for no good reason, and I happened to notice that Rick Griffin was a member. I have no idea! Who do you think I am, Mr. Name-Knower?
I used to call myself a furry, but some crappy experiences caused me to leave the community, and to be very distrusting of most of the people therein. Again, it's a long story. :3 I still love anthro artwork a lot, though; sometimes I wonder if I'm still a furry, but just in denial.Teh Brawler wrote:Well, I'm glad he changed your mind for the better. Actually, yes. Don't you have a magic wand to discover anyone's name and everything?
The term "furry," actually has an extremely vague definition behind it. You could like the Looney Tunes and technically be considered a furry. The problem is that the internet, in its coalesced form, has developed a very negative viewpoint on 'furries' based on the small percentage of those whoo... well I don't think I need to go into detail with that, so lets just say they've established the concept of 'furries' solely on those kind of people who take it to a higher level. So to speak. Which is why so many anthro artists and appreciators must deal with all the heat they get. The most common interpretation for a furry, I believe, is someone who has an alter-ego or self identity that resembles an anthropomorphic animal; and like Brawler, I don't view myself in such terms, but I still hold an admiration for the art style.mathgrant wrote:I used to call myself a furry, but some crappy experiences caused me to leave the community, and to be very distrusting of most of the people therein.
