Tesla's owner sat her dog down onto the exam table, "So you said this was a conversion disorder?" She asked, patting her dog's head. Despite being close to overwhelmed that his owner had rushed to see him, Tesla remained respectfully, shockingly quiet

At that moment, a small red mini cooper pulled into the clinic's gravel parking lot. Out stepped a young woman, roughly five foot four in height and had her dirty blonde hair tied up in a ponytail. She wore a plain red t-shirt and a regular pair of jeans and a pair of sporty looking trainers.

She began to walk towards the clinic and headed inside towards the reception desk, where she waited to be served.

There is a desensitization routine we can do, to help with that.

Inside....
Allright, no one panic.. This is Senka the cougar.
Keeping a firm comforting hold onto her paw.
She is going to be hanging around with me for a while.
She leads the cougar to an open exam room..
Wait in here, Ok? I need to go get a few things.
Kandi goes to the ofice, and collects a few vet books, gets her laptop. and then returns through the crowd, gawking into the exam room.
Ok.. Thumbing through the first book, The Bigcats for dummies.
Don't worry, I'm just refreshing on what type of inoculations cougars need to stay healthy.

Snow sat on her porch, drinking some juice. Things had been pretty odd recently. The injury was pretty much healed by now, not having been that major, but getting her arm injured right after the move had made things far more interesting than she'd have had liked.

She sighed, putting her empty cup down. New home, and now I have no idea what to do now that I'm here. Figures. She thought. I don't know anybody here, I know almost nothing about this house... Ah well, I suppose it's better than if everyone stayed unemployed.

Getting up, she decided to walk to Pebble Park, taking with her a violin. She didn't really expect to play it, but it was nice to carry something familiar with her, since she was still adapting to this new life, and her violin was one of her oldest possessions, so it seemed like a good choice.

(It took me a while to decide on this approach to reintroducing her, but I decided on it in the end since I don't believe she ever actually reached the clinic before the timeskip, and it would have been awkward to just suddenly have her in it without arriving, or just showing up now. Sorry that it's ignoring her injury to such an extent, though. If I need to adjust this post, even if I have to rewrite it entirely, let me know and I'll fix it.)

"ha ha ! you're so funny I forgot to laugh ! So , how long are we gotta stay here ? 2 months ?"
"depends , but yah , around that"

Paul looks at Kandi and the cougar and croaks, "But... but... you always..."

Discretion being the better part of valor sanity, Doc leads Doc to the back and starts cleaning his thick coat and applying antiseptic to the cuts. "I ought to shave around some of these, but I don't suppose you'll want that."

Meanwhile, Samantha explains what she thinks is Tesla's problem, ending with, "... and if you can afford to ride here in a helicopter, I imagine you can afford a specialist for a dog. I'd suggest a big city practice, where they have access to better tests than I could possibly do... because I could be wrong, it's just my best guess. If it is, the sooner you get started on therapy the better."

Koa looks over at Mercury. "The scenery here in this neighborhood is beautiful, I could just sleep outside tonight. although its not very safe for me to do so. Speaking of which...." He looks over at Flynn and yells. "Flynn! Do you mind If I stay here tonight!?"

"Not at all." replies Flynn. "You can have my beanbag tonight sinc my hutch is ready now." Noticing how late it's getting, Flynn addresses the rest of the animals. "It's getting late. Does anyone else need to contact their owners or want to stay the night?"

Raises his ears curiously at the mention of a sleep over. "I um er I've never had a sleep over before... Do you um have a phone I can call Dad with? It's a long ways to get home from here."

"Sure. DAD!" John pops his head out the back door.
"Yes, Flynn?"
"Have you connected the landline yet? Ryyn needs to call home."
"Not yet. I haven't really had time with all the excitement today. He can use my mobile though. Can you catch, boy?" John tosses the phone over to Ryyn.

Eeks a bit as the phone is tossed at him. He fumbles with it in his paws a bit almost dropping it before shakily bringing it to rest in his paws."Err sorry about the close call on that one..." He dials a few numbers into the phone and holds it up to his ear. "Hi Dad I was wondering if I would be able to spend the night at my new friends house.... No I won't chew the furniture here.... Dad that was when a pup.... No I don't do that anymore, please stop teasing people are watching.... I can? Thanks Dad I'll head home tomorrow, they don't live too far." With that he hangs up the cell phone and walks it over to Flynn's dad "Here's your phone back sir."

John accepts the phone. "Thanks. Wait, you're staying tonight? Flynn, whats going on?"
"Um... Well... It's quite a walk back to the others' houses and it's getting late so I thought if anyone needed to contact their owners or stay the night... It's not like we're pressed for space..." He quails under John's stern expression. Seeing this, John laughs.
"That's true! Well I suppose I'd better go and see what meat Joan has for dinner. I might need to run to the shops before they shut. Paws up whoever thinks they need to stay the night."

Koa raises his hand "I need to, but think you could maybe make some veggies instead of meat?" "I can go and head home, bye everyone...Bye Koa"

waves by to Koasa before raising his paw. "I'm staying and I say woot for meat!" He wags happily before giving Koa and odd look. "vegetables?..."

"Can I quick borrow the phone too?" asked Lucky. He looked very sheepish. "My home's not far away, but I would like to sleepover. You know, if that's okay."

Before the two could walk over to the Vet, he approached them and was soon leading Doc to the back, he glanced back smiling at Zanna he himself being unsure about another doctor treating him when he could apply it himself. But as they got back there and the doctor started cleaning him and examining the wounds he cringed slightly as the antiseptic was applied though when the doctor brought up shaving he quickly shook his head.

"I'll be fine, the darts didn't penetrate too deep so with infection aside they'll heal up pretty quickly, i'll just be sore for a while."
he waited a moment before starting up again, looking around the room.
"Hey Doc, you wouldn't happen to have seen my bag would you? It was brought in with my collar last night"

Zanna stood attentively at the door so she was out of the doc's way. She glanced outside for a second at the mention of the cougar before returning her attention to the doc, and Doc.

Meanwhile...

Senka paced around the room is awe. From the fluorescent lights that lit up the room to the tile floor that felt cool under her pads. She was examining the knobs of a sink when Kandi walked back into the room with a book.

"What are interculotions?". Senka asked. Whatever they were it didn't sound good...
"And why would I want them if I'm gonna hate them?". The cougar said this as she reached up quizitively to grab at one of the silver handles to a cabinet above the table, revealing for a second a long gash that ran down her side before she, in dismay, put her arms back down, unable to reach that high.

John passes the phone to Lucky. "Bye, Kousa. Now why would I have veggeis in the house? It's not like there's a rabbit living here or anything." John jokes. "You allergic to the meat at all or just don't like the taste? And what are you cats doing for tonight?"
"See you, Kousa."

Lucky thanked him for the phone and dialed his parents. One explanation later (and after he had assured them that he was alright) Lucky finally said,"Alright, see you tomorrow. Bye!" He handed John the phone back. I can stay for the night!"

"...I just never really liked meat." Koa said softly fearing the others might judge.

John takes back the phone. "That's fine. I'm sure we can accommodate your tastes." he says to Koa.

"Well I'm going to take a small nap, cause its hard for me to get up at the moment. Wake me up when its time to eat." koa just flops over, in what looks like an uncomfortable position, and lays on the soft grass eventually falling asleep.

Laurel nodded in understanding, "I see..." she scratched her dog's head, "I'll just have to take him back to the conference with me." the woman sighed, picking her dog up as she stood, "Can you recommend anyone? And what's my bill?"

Mercury stands and speaks to John, "My owner is out of town for now, so..." he paused, unsure of himself, "May I stay for dinner too?"

"No, we're full up." John grins. "Just kidding. 'Course you can. When does your owner get back?"

Inoculations... Kandi starts, then remembers this is feral, she is talking with. Keep it simple and talk in graspable concepts.
They will make your body stronger, on the inside.. It will make it much harder for diseases to make you sick.

It's more likely, your going to hate being poked, pricked, and prodded at by the exam. We still don't have Star Trek level gear that we can sweep over your body, an have it tell us whats wrong.... an you have no idea what i'm talking about.. Just wait until you find out about TV! your going to.. Whats that?

Kandi gets up from thumbing through the veterinary manuals on big cats, and comes over to look closer at Senka's side.
What happened there? raise up your arm again.. how high can you raise your arm now, before the pain stops you?
carefully picking at the wound, trying to part the fur to see how bad it is under the fur.
How long have you been hurt here? and are you hurting anywhere else??

"Hmm?" Senka lifted her arm and looked at her injury, somewhat taken aback by all the quesitons.
"Oh, that?" Her voice making it sound like an afterthought. The cougar winces as Kandi parts her fur. "I don't know. I think it was when I tripped when I was running from the humans. I rammed headfirst (and probably arms outstretched) into one of those thick bushes. One of the branches probably scratched me. It itches sometimes but I don't touch it." She shrugs.
"But I mean. it's gonna heal on its own, right?" The wound look deep, but not too fresh. A layer of dried blood covered the gash and matted some of the fur.
"And what's tee vee?"

Easiest to say, it's an entertainment box. it shows pictures and sounds.
Kandi chases after a flea..
You have critters living in your pelt, they could be whats causing the itching, but we can get rid of them. hard to see how bad the wound is right now. We should give you a bath, that will chase the critters out of your fur and clean up the wound so we can see whats going on there, an if there is an infection in there..

Shower or tub bath? Ahhhh.. shower is like standing in the rain. Tub bath is like sitting in a pond.

"But...I don''t like...either of those things..." Senka replied, frowning. Though rain water was preferable to soaking in a pond. As a member of the cat family. She preferred it if her fur stayed dry.

Kandi leads her cougar out of the exam room by her hand again and down the hall to the grooming area..
Look.. well feel She says as she turns on the water of the shower.
We can make the water as cold, warm, or hot as you like. turn this knob this way to make it colder, or go the other way to make it hotter.

Adjust the water until you get it to a temp that you like, then step into the falling water, please.

Senka looked doubtfully at the water streaming out of the shower head. She ran her hand under the water and just as she suspected, it was cold, just like the rain.
Then she remembered what Kandi said and turned the knob. And sure enough the water turned from cold, to a temperate warm, to boiling hot, making the cougar jerk her hand out of the reach of the steaming water.
"Hot rain...". She murmured to herself.
After tuning the shower for a minute, the cougar adjusted it to a temperture that was between that of warm and hot. Senka glanced at Kandi for a second before stepping into the warm water.
She had to admit, it wasn't that great, but... It wasn't too bad either.

Kandi sits back an lets the cougar explore the shower, and too her surprise, she got into the water on her own..
Oh what a good girl! you are. Not knowing if a feral would react to praise like a domestic cat would have.
Kandi puts on a plastic apron, then goes over to the shower.
She rubs the fur, flea and tick shampoo into the cougars pelt, working and rubbing her fingers massaging into her shoulder muscles to foam up the fur shampoo.
Between this grooming and the heat of the water, your going to be a very relaxed puma soon.
Kandi shampoos the bigcat down her back, then down her chest. legs and finally her tail..
She circles back up, to gently rub at the long wound, getting the blood crust to wash away.
Kandi gets a betadine soap, an a soft bristled brush.
Ok your doing very well. Now i going to clean this wound out, an this may hurt a bit. So be ready, and no clawing the vet to bits now..
Kandi pours the disinfecting soap down along the wound, gently scrubbing along it with the soft brush.
Oh what a good girl you are.. Looks like it's healing well enough on it's own, that were not going to have the shave the fur there an stitch it up. but you are going to have a scar there. We will just have to keep it clean..

Kandi rinses the soap out of the cougar fur. Shampoos her up again. then rinses her fur out again.
She then gets a fur conditioner.
this will make your fur soft, fluffy and shinny.
Kandi rubs and massages that into the cougars fur as well.. then rinses it out...
There you done with your first shower... but you don't have to get out right now.. you can stay in there an enjoy it for a while if you like..

Samantha rummages through her rolodex while Sandy settles the bill, and photocopies some business cards for Laurel.

Though the prasing was awkward to hear and the disinfectant stung Senka reminded herself she would endure it. Endure was the operative word here. Which also meant she wouldn't enjoy it. Wouldn't. Not even a little. Not even when she felt the hot water relaxing her muscles, or the feeling of getting her fur cleaned. And no. That was not purring when Kandi was massaging conditioner into her fur, that was...ummm.... That was... her...stomach. Yeah, that's what'd she'd say.
Kandi's last words woke the cougar out of her trance.
"No, I'm done.". She said quickly, reaching for the water knob and managing to turn it off.

Mercury clapped his hands happily, "Thank you!" The cat nearly hugged his host, "My dad is coming in a week or so and I was running out food options." the cat did hug his host

The woman gratefully accepted the bill and business cards from Sandy, "Thank you, young man." she handed over a charge card, "I'll definitely send you some business if I see some."

Holds his paws in front of him while giving a small wag and a smile. "It's going to be just like Thanks Giving, I love being thankful about food it always smells so good with the turkey, the bacon, ooh and the stuffing."

John looks down in surprise at where the cat is purring against his leg. "Uh, you're welcome. A week, you said? I suppose you'd better stay with us for a while too then. Can't have you starving. And I don't think Joan's making turkey tonight, boy." He gives the cat's ears a rub and finishes by adressing the dog. After extricating himself from Mercury's embrace he checks on Joan's plans for dinner, then jumps into his car and runs to the supermarket, making it 10 minutes before closing time. After purchasing a couple of steaks, a fish, some cat and dog kibble, and a selection of veggies, he purchases a bottle of gas from the servo and then returns home where he drags a large box out onto the back porch. Opening the box he pulls out a variety of metal shapes and pieces which he soon assembles into a barbeque. Attaching the gas bottle and firing it up, he soon has the steaks and fish sizzling on the grill. Joan soon brings out the chopped up veggies and arranges them on the hotplate opposite the grill. It doesn't take long before the delicious smells are wafting out across the lawn.
"Dinner's ready everyone." calls Joan as John goes to wake Koa. She puts a steak on a plate for her, John, and Ryyn, along with a handful of kibble for the dog, the fish (also with some kibble) on a plate for Mercury, and the veggies she deals out between the humans, the rabbits and Koa.
"I don't know if any of you pets usually use cutlery but it's there if you want it." she gestures at the outdoor table as she hands out the plates. There's also water in the jug there if you're thirsty and you can use either the bowls or the cups whichever you rather. We might as well eat out here since it's such a lovely evening."

Reverend was walking around the neighborhood, whistling a tune to himself.

He stopped whistling and sighed. "just got here and I'm already thinking about napping..." He mumbled as he walked down the sidewalk.

He was looking around at the houses curiously, forgetting which one was his.

"aaaaaah , can't believe I would be so glad about eating like this "
"Sure that's enough though ? You said you haven't eaten all day , maybe something more than just a plate of spaghetti ?"
"mmm mhm mhmmhmm..."

"I said no it's alright , I had enough"
"right , so any plan for tonight ?"
"meh , even though there was some good coming out in the end , I wasted most of the day raging at you , causing harm to a rabbit while scared another to death , then wasted the rest inside a clinic , better hold off anything else til tomorrow at this rate"
"I see , well then I guess I'll just gotta get back to work after taking care of the---"
"you know what leave the dishes to me , better get back to whatever it is you're writing , could bored myself to sleep with a little chores anyway"

that night ,a bit after midnight , under the bright moonlight , a white blur dashed across the silent road of Richmond ,as soundless as the surrounding itself....
It stopped before the Porter's house , for a moment , then changed direction , headed straight toward the forest , even faster than before.....

Back to the present !

Lucky stared happily at the feast and said, Thank you very much!" With that, he began eating.

Koa, still slightly asleep, murmured graced before saying "Thanks for the meal, I kind of wish I had a full family like you all. My owner rarely ever makes me food." He stretches his short arms out in order to reach the utensils, and then took a bite of his veggies.
