Who's Mercury?

Blick tilted her head slightly, then realized she must have the wrong number. Wait. Oh yeah, Mercury doesn't have a cell!

Oops. Sorry to bother you.

Blick put her cellphone away and started wandering the streets, looking at the leaves that are changing color. Maybe I can make a giant leaf pile at the park... She starts making her way over to see what's up at the park.

"Morning, Mercury! Hutch just got a text saying that the Porters are going down the tunnels under their house today and inviting you and Hutch along, if you wanted to go. They had an expert look at them and declare them safe apparently." She's about to add more when she suddenly becomes alert, ears swivelling, nose testing the air.
"There's a fox around..." she announced warily.

If anything, it's probably Nadia. That or... The one adorable gal, Blick! She wouldn't hurt a fly. Nadia, I don't know. She was cute, too! Hutch says, probably talking to himself, but he continues.

Blick saw a group of pets over in one park, so she decides to go over and see what kind of fun she can stir up. The vixen starts jogging and sees the pets are Mercury, Hutch and Oreo. Halfway to them she shouts "Hey guys! Whatcha doing today?"

"Yeah, I think we-" John is cut off by the theme to "Get Smart" blaring from his pocket. Hooking his phone out he checks the screen.
"Oh, sorry, guys that's my boss. I have to take this. Be right back. Hello, John Porter speaking... Hi... Yeah... Uh huh..." John's voice fades as he heads upstairs.

"Excellent. That was my plan - to distract you from it. But yes, Nadia. We're going to explore the tunnels again. Koa thinks there's a safe house of some sort down there and we want to try to find it."
Joan begins to clear up the dishes. "You think the wafers will fall, Kilo? I have shares in them. Might be a good time to sell, before they do crash if they're going to."

John returns to the room. "Sorry, guys, I'm not going to be able to go in with you. Major systems failure in at work and it's not something I can remotely manage so I'll have to go in and check it out which means driving all the way to the city and back." John turns to the corgi.
"I'm sorry, Koa. I know I promised to go down with you. Can I make it up to you somehow?"

Piper, just out of view around a bush, relaxes a little as Blick comes into view. While she hasn't actually met the vixen yet, she has seen her around town and is aware of her friendliness and lack of claws. "Hi! You must be Blick. I've heard about you from the others. Nice to finally meet you." Piper offers her paw, a little nervously.
"I'm Piper Brookley. You might have seen Dad's antique shop in the square."

Blick jumps and turns when Leslie touches her. She crouches down to see who did it, though the vixen already had a guess.
She looks, and through the foliage she can see the kitten. "Wow, Leslie. You caught me off guard this time! Your lessons are really paying off." Blick smiles.

Leslie chuckled loudly at the response and hauled himself out of the greenery to give the vixen a hug before trotting back to the others. "Gotta Fox!" He said proudly to Mercury.
