going down the corridor, there are no lights. It looks like the power feed for those was co-opted by the splicing work. There are blast marks scoring the walls at irregular intervals, at at least one of the lights wouldn't have turned on even if it was powered, given half of it is missing. the light filtering in from behind you isn't much to see by, i hope you brought your own.

there are more opened bulkheads with more spliced power cables every few meters. The splice work was definitely done after whatever caused all the damage, as one of the patches is routing power around a component that was shot. About half way is a junction that leads to blocks B & E, as well as has an unintentional "skylight" that's been covered up; one of the power conduit bulkheads was hastily welded by melting the edges with repeated shots from a plasma weapon. Whatever wrecked this ship left behind at least one survivor. one who clearly wanted this space to be able to pressurize.

The wall has a red smear on it, flash dried by depressurization and streaked towards the plugged hole as if it's source was pulled out through it.

The hatch further forward is once again wedged open by cables, but they're denser here, it may be hard to proceed forward. the access panel for block E wont open and says "Purge in Effect" on it. The bridge computer had described that system as a set of large airlock like shutters in the floor and ceilings of the blocks, visible as black hexagons from the exterior, for rapidly pacifying uncontrollable prisoners through loss of atmosphere. A last resort measure. B on the other hand looks just like A & F back at the first junction, likely accessible, but which way to go...

Post Re: SRP - STEELHAVEN
The mech Johansson was piloting stepped for and smashed its fists together showering the ground below him with sparks. He gave a nod to his opponent across from him as the stage around them filled in, showing that they had "moved" to a small island somewhere off the cost of Northern Africa. A timer appeared on both pilots HUDs and counted down until the fight would begin, attacking before this would result in a disqualification and would be counted as a loss. As the timer neared 0 Johansson idly switched through modes, eager to start what would be his 3rd fight. A cannon shot off somewhere, signalling the start of the battle. Almost immediately after the start, a short burst of light machine gun fire would make its way towards MT.

Post Re: SRP - STEELHAVEN
The exact frame that the cannon shot off, MT exploded into the air. If he had a pilot, they would have surely died from the G-forces. He did not have a pilot however, and so he had no inhibitions about doing this. He soared high in the air. Around him, he could detect the exact projectiles and their trajectories as they traveled through the air, and he changed his flight path to match. He bobbed and weaved around the machine gun fire as he locked solidly on his target: The cockpit of the other mech. His right arm opened up and seemed to swallow his hand. Out of the hole the hand vanished down, six long, large barrels jutted out. The massive long-barreled minigun spun up. When it fired, it sounded less like a machine gun and more like a monstrous, sinister roar making it's nickname, "Dragon's Roar" quite appropriate. MT was so familiar with this gun, that not only did he know exactly how to compensate for the recoil, he knew how every bullet would deviate as it exited the gun. As such, all 50,000 rounds per minute worth of custom armor piercing rounds were on a mathematically perfect flight path straight at Johansson's avatar's face.

Post Re: SRP - STEELHAVEN
Various murmurs ran through the crowd as an explosion played on the hologram in front of them. Most of the comments were made up of surprise at what the newcomer was bringing to the table, the merits of versing an AI with frame perfect response timing and how the better of the group would fair against the newcomer. Various strategies were being discussed and as round two began, the crowd were even more focused on the fight, hoping that their own would fair better than Johansson had. Johansson pulled up his helmet during the countdown and glanced back at the crowd, "Why did you let me do this for my third fight? Who thought this was a good idea?" This got a laugh from the crowd as he slid the helmet back down on his head and was pulled back into the game again as the timer ticked down from 5. This time he was more prepared and as the timer reached 0 he immediately turned on his auto-tracking and fired off a charged shot from his beam cannon aimed directly for the enemy mech. A hail of bullets followed afterward, somewhat slower than the beam.

Like with the first round, MT took off into the air the same frame the timer hit zero. However, he caught a glancing blow from the beam cannon. His shielding held strong, but some of his power was drained. It didn't take long for him to detect his enemy's lock on him, and he responded appropriately. He flew at high speed close to the sandy ground kicking up a great cloud of debris and particles. Once it was too thick to see through, he turned on his stealth module and became undetectable, breaking his opponent's lock on him. As he did this, he opened his mouth and dropped a thermite grenade into his hand. while invisible, he flew around behind his opponent. By the time the invisibility wore off, he had targeted his opponent's power source. He grabbed the opposing mech and prepared to jam the grenade into it's power source, even if he had to rip off his opponent's armor to do so.

Johansson reached up behind him and began unloading his LMG into MT's stomach. The beam cannon came next. Johansson had set it to overcharge, a side effect being the red glow meant as a warning sign, plasma and electricity crackled around the cannon as it launched a beam point blank at the enemy mech. Flaps on the side of it opened and discharged heat from it in the form of steam.

MT's shields laughed at the LMG machine gun fire, deflecting it off of him and scattering them like birdshot back into the rear of Johansson's mech. However, when the beam cannon hit him, his power depleted rapidly as his shields took the full hit. Unable to reach the power source while under fire, MT reached around and stuck the hand with the grenade in Johansson's face and detonated it right on the cockpit, showering both of them in white hot thermite. MT turned off his shield and allowed his heat proof armor to take the hits from the beam cannon and the thermite as he grabbed his opponent's LMG and attempted to force it away from him while also trying to rip it off the mech entirely.

With MT focused almost entirely on his mechs LMG, Johansson simply reached up and grabbed the dragon, taking a quick step back and hauling him over his shoulder. He smiled a little, knowing that thermite burns downwards and not outwards. He leaned over the mech and pressed the barrel of his LMG to MT's chest, having successfully reloaded a new belt and pulled the trigger again as the thermite began eating through what little armor he had.

MT was getting furious with how long this was taking. He turned on his shields again as soon as he saw the gun was reloaded. With an angry, mechanical roar, he pushed the gun away, got up to his feet, and sent his mighty fist into the weakened cockpit armor with enough force to level a building, and with the goal of crushing it's pilot.

Johansson took off his helmet as his screen flashed "Defeated" across his vision. He laughed and clapped for MT, "Good fight! I don't think I did so badly the second round, especially against a computer." He set the helmet down on the couch and retreated back into the crowd, earning a few hollers and slaps on the back for doing better in the second round. So far, everyone was liking the newcomer and they were all interested to see how he would fair against the higher skilled of the group.
Chris looked down at his data pad, "Mikkelsen you're up next."
With the mention of his name, a dog stepped forward, obviously of somewhat Scandinavian descent. "Lets see what we've got in store for us today." He dropped onto the couch and put them helmet on, letting the game load up his saved builds.

Silverwolf looked around himself. "Something's missing," he said, thinking for a moment before Andy popped up with a silver handled cane
"Is this yours, Mr Wolf, Sir," the Squirrel asked.
"Yes, I think so Andrew." Silverwolf took the cane and began heading in the direction they'd discussed. "Thank you." He stopped for a second. "Why does it sound so wrong when I say that?

"An' yere we are," Saah said, pulling up by the Captain and the seated chief.

Captain Walker gave a slight smile at seeing that Corp was yet again on top of the situation. "Excellent job Corporal. Not sure what I'd do without you." She said, before focusing again on the matter at hand. "As much as I loathe to say it, I think we should leave them in there until we can be sure that this isn't just the computer overreacting. I don't want to risk a virus spreading to the rest of my ship."

---MEANWHILE---

"Maybe it's just because you're so used to other people saying it to you?" Lewis said, glancing back at the wolf for a second before continuing to look around for clues. He wasn't an expert on AI by any means, but he was pretty sure that Silverwolf was evolving in ways he wasn't supposed to. He was pretty sure that he wasn't a full AI yet, though he might become one if he kept growing. If that happened, they'd have to find a way to get him out of here, and figure out a way to break it to him that everything he knew was a lie.

Seeing the captain as they enter the room, the two dogs stand to attention and salute their commanding officers as they wait for instructions or for an invitation to begin.

"If I may, Captain?" He turned to the incomers. "situation's this. The Holodeck has cut itself off. No manual over-ride, no access, no communication. We have four people trapped inside. A child, two Ensigns and Lieutenant Commander Walker. We'd like them out and the first stage seems to be finding where the software's gone."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silverwolf led the way, tapping his cane on the path and enjoying the clacking sound it made as they looked for anomalies. It distracted him from thinking how he knew what anomalies were or why Andy appeared to be the only one of his species that existed here. He walked around a Feline that stretched halfway to infinity. "I hope they're not in any pain," he said eventually. "We've never needed many councillors on Merrivale before."
"Where's Merrivale?" Keeva asked innocently.
Silverwolf turned to look at her, a knowing glint in his eye. "It's the world, Miss Storm," he said before turning to face front again.

Block B is two stories tall inside, thirty six individual cells line the walls, eighteen per floor, with the three main access points creating gaps along three of the four walls where the ramps (one wide going down flanked by two narrow going up) that link them to both levels are. In the floor below the lower catwalk, as well as in the ceiling above the upper, you can see the purge system shutters, heavy locks holding them tightly closed with no sign of any power available to unlock them. Your entry point is the middle of the three access points, with a door marked A on one far wall, and an open doorway that would logically be C on the other.

It looks like the corridor you were in runs down the core of the ship... meaning that the patched hole is connected to the massive breach in the ventral hull, which apparently reaches half way into the vessel's superstructure. the only thing a ship like this should have on board that could do that much damage is its oxygen tanks... the back wall of every cell on the upper level that faces away from the center of the ship being bent and buckled inward would definitely support that.

Bathed in strobing red light, Block B still holds signs of a fire fight having gone on long ago. The cold, thin atmosphere and lack of gravity having left much of it undisturbed, save for occasional drifting. three of the bodies are clad in green and white lightly armored uniforms while the rest are in blue jumpsuits that wouldn't deflect a paperclip. All parties have near identical wounds; burns consistent with a plasma rifle fired in close quarters.

"Twa questions. Is there nae a wye tae reboot th' system? An' is th' computer respondin' tae any commands or mouse movements or is it completely frozen? If it's frozen Conall wuid like permission tae plug his computer intae the holodeck computer because he can force a back door intae t' code tha' wye."

"It's a bit more complicated than that." Captain Walker explained to the young collie. "I've looked it up in the manual, and it's like this because the computer has detected 'unidentified foreign software' in the system, so what's happening is effectively a quarantine. If you want, the plug's in the wall behind me, just make sure your antivirus is up to snuff."

---MEANWHILE---

Lewis looked a bit confused and rather worried at Silverwolf's decision to randomly start speaking in cryptic sentences. Was he starting to glitch out too? "What's that supposed to mean?" He asked, hoping the AI would have a explanation for his sudden weird behavior.

"He usually does," Keeva cut in quickly, "but he often doesn't remember to tell us. Typical pilot, eh?"
"Oh, a starcraft," SilverWolf said, seemingly relaxing. "That may explain it, yes." He didn't sound sure.

the Door to block C is currently open, through it you can see a room lit by the same dim but constant yellow light as the bridge and main access junction. A on the other hand is closed, but the keypad is lit, so it should be operable.

Seena looked like she was playing, running her hands over the controls as her ears listened in for the electronic sounds she'd heard before. There was something familiar... "Ah," she said as she locked in on the main signal. She began running it through the computer to identify the signal. To identify the ship. There was just something... familiar about it. She wasn't totally sure why but, when it came back blank on current ships, she opened it to historical records. In a moment it pinged and she frowned. "That's... wrong?" She tapped her link. "Ensign Seena to the Captain." She waited until the Captain replied before continuing. "Ma'am, we have a situation here. I'm picking up a distress call. The computer's identified the ship. The PTV (Prisoner Transport Vehicle) Tartarus. Captain, she was reported as destroyed over seventy years ago."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Outwardly, SilverWolf was happily leading the group through the environment, making a show of it being for Andy's benefit. Inwardly he was trying to work out these odd people and what danger they posed. He hoped he wouldn't have to deal with them. Violence was so uncouth.

Conall nods in understanding as Cailean translates. The older dog looks between the plug in the wall and the captain several times and then signs something to Cailean, who smothers a giggle.
"Conall asks if ye cuid please move oot o' th' wye, Cap'n."

Once he has access to the port, Conall loads a virtual machine on his computer with which he'll interface with the ship's computer so that any malware that might get into his computer will be contained. He starts a scanning program and then leaves his computer on a ledge and heads to the main terminal. He pauses to sign something to Cailean, who nods, and then begins focusing intently on the computer and typing.

"He's on it. He's asked me tae let him ken when his computer vibrates because tha's when th' scan is done." the younger dog explains, leaning casually against the wall.

Silverwolf put a hand against a tree as a youngster strobed past him from the far distance and closed his eyes for a second. "Ice cream headache," he said, trying to shake it off. "II do hope it's not connected."

The Captain tried to not to sigh as Seena told her of another potential crisis. Dang it, she didn't have time for this. "How far out of our way is it? After seventy years, I doubt there's anyone still alive on there, so we may just have to let Command know and leave it for the salvage crews to clean up."

---MEANWHILE---

Aaaaaand, now he looked like an idiot. He thought he'd set it to the 22nd century carnival, so he thought it would be on Earth. He doubted Silverwolf would be too suspicious of his goof, but he'd better come up with excuse anyways, just to be sure. "Oh yeah, of course. I'm just used to calling them planets, so I had a bit of a brain fart there. You ever have one of those? Where the answer to something should be obvious, but for whatever reason you can't figure it out?"

"It's about an hour from us on a two degree angle, Captain," Seena said. "[color=#BF40FF]Barely out of our direction at all."

"Oh, I do know what you mean, Mr Walker," Silverwolf said blithely, swinging his cane. "Just this morning - or was it yesterday - I couldn't decide on which ride would be best for someone. or you it's Space Mountain, by the way. You don't seem to want to be limited to one planet and certainly not this one."

A few minutes pass and Conall has a window with lines of code scrolling over it on the holodeck's computer. His personal computer vibrates and Cailean taps him on the shoulder and flashes him a sign. The older dog nods and smiles, pushing back his wheeled chair and grabbing the small device. He doesn't unplug it, but reads the screen, scrolls a little and looks satisfied. He sets another program running, signs to Cailean, and then rolls back to the main terminal, soon becoming immersed in the lines of code again.

"Well, it isnae a virus or malware. Tha's th' good news." Cailean tells Corp since Liz is obviously distracted.

"Going about it the Sherlock way, hmm" Corp muttered. "Ruling out everything it can't be until you're left with one alternative." On his visor, he was checking into the ship Seems had called about after reviewing her actions prior to her call.

Colorado monitored the swelling in Galuda's ankle for a few more minutes before carefully sliding an ankle brace over the wrapping, "Would you prefer crutches or a wheelchair? Either way, don't put weight on your foot."

the Door to block C is currently open, through it you can see a room lit by the same dim but constant yellow light as the bridge and main access junction. A on the other hand is closed, but the keypad is lit, so it should be operable.

The robot headed toward block A , accessing the panel, then float back from the door.

Conall pauses a line of scrolling code on the screen and headtilts for a few moments. He rolls back his chair and checks his personal computer again and nods, appearing satisfied. He ponders for a few moments before signing to Cailean.
"Tha' was fast. Conall found th' problem. It's part o' an AI called Silverwolf an' it appears tae be an error in th' code in th' latest update. He wants tae ken haow ye want it fixed. He can attempt to recode an' patch it himself, he can undo th' update an' roll back tae an earlier version o' th' system, oor he can just delete tha' character frae th' system. Fixin' it himself wuid take th' most time. He'd hae tae completely rewrite th' character tae find th' source o' the corruption oor it cuid happen again. Undoin' th' update wuid be easiest but it wuid mean security features frae th' latest update wuid be removed. Deletin' th' character wuid stop th' problem but may destabilise other parts o' th' program. Sae... What dae ye want done?"

Corp thought on it for a moment. "For my vote, Captain?" he looked to the Captain before continuing. "I think we need a quick assault team on stand by but the priority is making sure they're OK in there. So we need the door open fast."
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Silverwolf grimaced again whilst waiting on Lewis. "My apologies," he said carefully. "But I cannot be sure of what is causing these headaches." He looked coldly at Lewis now but still spoke with slight hope. "Perhaps it would help if you told me what I was?"

There's a hiss of air, and for a brief moment the alarms are audible before the cold silence swallowed them back into the vacuum. The bodies in this compartment are more decayed, having had atmosphere in with them, but there's no indication that any of them are recent. The fire suppressors on the ceiling are deployed but have run out of suppressant long ago. A thin white film coating every surface and washing out their colors and details. Three of the bodies are clustered around a scorched panel that's been partially cut using an improvised tool, the rest are in their cells, save one guard lying outside one of the three open cells, a metal shiv still in his back and his access card still in the lock of another cell... The suppression system was likely set off by an electrical fire.

The three escapees are Prisoners 035, 117, and 006, from their jumpsuits. There are no bullet holes, no plasma burns, no sign of any fighting, unlike every other compartment you passed through.

This is one of the systems that was reported damaged on the bridge. This panel held the circuits to remotely access the purge functions, door controls and life support in Blocks A, B, & C. It's the reason you couldn't get any reading on the fire suppression system. You know where the junction box is because of the damage readout download, but those circuits are meant to be maintained via the removable bulkheads in the coridors outside, not in here. From this side the wall panels are featureless, securely welded in place, and identical to one another, no indication of what's behind any given one or easy way to get them off.

Whatever happened, must have started here. Had the purge function been working on this side of the ship, all prisoners could have been pacified with the push of a button.

MT disconnected from the game. He had gone through a few players, escalating his fighting as he went. The later players were quite experienced with how the game worked, and he ended up loosing a few fights against some of them. "Thank you all for playing with me. It was good to meet you, and I look forward to when we work together." He looked at Chris. "You know Chris, those fights gave me a few ideas for some possible new equipment, if you wouldn't mind hearing them."

"Well, I was thinking. What if I took my module slot and made it like my flamethrower? I mean, have a rotating cylinder in the arm that lets me switch between modules? It might give a serious advantage in a real fight to be able to switch tactics mid-battle." He opened up his left arm module slot and examined it. "I've checked what would be needed. I think it can be done without compromising vital systems like my armor."
