And besides, I need to get my stuff since I'll be staying there for a bit. Come on. Heh." He turned around and headed back towards the lobby stairs.
((I've been trying to come up with a reply for a while now...))

Adel, after the initial shock, missed a bit of what Khun said, picking up everything from the mention of supplies onward. He brushed himself off and followed the other dog upstairs, silently observing the surroundings as they passed to Khun's room.

Flint nodded and trotted off to the fridge. He opened the large door and was hit with a blast of cool air.
"Let's see here... Bottled water, sparkling water, and he picked up an unmarked bottle. "Whatever this is...". He put it back.
After leafing through the assortment of drinks.
"Ah hah!". Grabbing an orange soda can off a shelf. Flint was about to reach for a water bottle when he paused. He glanced at the can in his hand. Pondering it's mildly euphoric effects
"Maybe...". The canine glanced over to see if Martin was watching before grabbing another soda can.

"Can you believe that?". Flint placed a can on Martin's side of the table.
"Great food but not a single bottle of water in the fridge.". He pointed at the can he gave Martin before opening up his.
"So I grabbed you one of these". He said dismissively, taking a sip of his own.

The moment the demon felt the mental contact, his eyes widened. With a furious roar he raised both his paws in the air ad above them - a sphere of greed magma-like substance formed.
["Fool!"] he roared and slammed the sphere into the chained spirit, causing an explosion and leaving nothing left than just another crater on the landscape, which began to fill with the green lava.

The cocoon Lars was in began to vibrate, then suddenly blew up in shadowy, green explosion, which did not harm the environment nor the rabbit shaman. From the explosion Two figures appeared - the figure of Lars (now in body and soul) and the demon who pushed him to the nearby wall with claws on his neck.
["FOOL! IDIOT! DO YOU EVEN REALIZE WHAT YOU COULD'VE CAUSED IF I DIDN'T STOP YOU, YOU IMBECILE??"]
Lars had his connection with Shaman Yago severed as the demon broke the sphere he was meditating in. After a series of thunderous explosions and earth shattering shelling from the enormous fists of the demon, it seemed that he got knocked back into his body.

Lars let out a small chuckle. ''And what would happen if you didn't? Do you think that I and the rest of my masters are afraid? Do you think we are afraid of your domain?'' Lars said, snarling as he began using his psychic abilities to crush the demon's mind, raining a barrage of mind bullets. ''Do not mess with me, foul creature. If we are to work together, you better cooperate!'' Lars roared, increasing the fire power of his mind.

"That will be enough!" roared Yago, appearing between the two adversaries. His gesture brought up a crystal wall between Lars and the Demon, making their attacks as useless as rubber against concrete.
"Your aid was required, not your emnity," Yago said to the demon turning to him. Then, to Lars, "Wasting your energies in this fight is useless, disciple! And that is not your purpose right now!"

Lars raised an eyebrow as he shrugged in defiance. ''But...but Shaman Yago...HE ATTACKED ME FIRST! I HAD TO DEFEND MYSELF!!'' Lars exclaimed, pointing at the demon!

"Sorry, this isn't gonna be pretty," Khun said, opening the door. The room was a mess. A complete mess. Everything was out of place and blankets, pillow cases, and even the mattress were strewn about everywhere. Even the cabinet doors that the tv stood on where thrown about.

"I'm gonna give the poor cleaning lady a heart attack, heh," he said, stepping about the mess.

"Now where did I put that?" He asked aloud, searching for his camping bag.

Adel stood in the doorway, marveling at the mess. He gasped. It was clear Khun had been here a while... and not slept soundly. Did he finally give up on sleeping and toss the mattress? Or was that from some kind of panic- or rage-induced fit? Truth be told, the dog felt like jumping into the pile of strewn-about items; however, he wasn't sure he'd make it back out of the pile. It just might eat him!

He was too distracted by the condition of the room to help Khun search.

Khun had tossed a pillow. Then it dawned on him.

"Oh, wait, heh," he said, "I was actually a smart person for once." Khun knelt down and reached under the bed. He produced a decent camping bag. He gave it a look through. One-dog Tent, sleeping bag to match, pillow, ringed sketchbook. Water bottle on the side of the pack. Khun reached under the bed again.

Since this is there, the other should be right....
Khun thought.

"And here's the other," Khun said, pulling out what looked like a walking stick his size.

"I'm still surprised I got this through security," he said, slapping it in his hand with a grin.

Lars snapped at that instant. ''FOR THE LAST TIME YOU MONGREL, MY NAME IS NOT WHELP! SO SAYS SHAMAN LARS!!!!'' Lars roared, letting his shaman marks illuminate the room with a blinding light!

''WELL WHAT WILL IT DO?! EVERYTHING'S PERFECTLY FINE HERE!!! LOOK AROUND!!!'' Lars yelled at him, moving his arm around the perfectly structured hut they were in. ''I take time off from training to be with my mates, then High Shaman Gilestra tells me I should work with you, I come here and ask of your purpose, you drag me to hell and try to kill me, then you bring me back here again....YOU ARE SERIOUSLY WASTING MY TIME, do you know that!!!!'' Lars roared, facing the demon with an angry stare emitting from his furious cyan eyes. ''High Shaman Yago, I REALLY REALLY CANNOT TAKE THIS ANYMORE!!!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO HELP HIM OUT?!'' Lars exclaimed, folding his arms with disgust and staring coldly at the demon. He had the very ability to skin him alive. For now he had vented, and waited for a response.

Yago was not impressed by both creatures' remarks. His answer was a cold frown.
"To you, demon, I say that there was no risk in what my disciple did: we are the custodians of space and time, the clans from your dimension could not have used the link Lars opened to invade this continuum. Keep that in mind.
"And you, Lars, stop *acting* like a whelp: such passion will lead you into the arms of a demon clan, should you keep your emotions getting the better of you, may you be right or wrong. Am I clear?"

---
Stojo nodded. "Neat! Hold it a sec..." he put his fingers to his mouth and let out a powerful whistle! It sounded... almost unnatural in the crowded yet quiet immense cave. "Done. Now we wait, our ride should be here in a minute.

["Led by emotions is what you are, whelp! Don't dare to call yourself a shaman unless you can fully control your feelings!"] The demon spoke calmly. He was about to continue, but then he noticed he was becoming transparent. The creature looked at Shadowclaw, who was waking up. ["We will discuss this later!"] with these words he faded away, dispersing into the thin air.

Shadowclaw moved in the bed and slowly raised in sitting position, looking around. "Wha-... What happened? Where am I? And who are you two?" the last question was directed to Yago and Lars.

Meanwhile, Within the room three doors down from Khun, Mr & Mrs White were unpacking things from their cases.

"Anise, Where's our kitchen stuff? I can't find it!" Shouted Mr White from the small kitchen area in the main room.

"Should be in that small case with 'Kitchen' written on it, Alan!" Came the reply from a room on the left.

At that point, a door on the right side of the room opened and entered a black and white cat, with a distinguished brown patch over one eye.

What's with the shouting? I was taking a nap..?" He said, yawning and streching as he walked towards the sofa in the middle of the room and sat.

"Sorry, Rookie, but I couldn't find the kitchen bag.." Mr White apologised, looking franticly around.

Rook looked at the bag he sat next to, noting the label reading 'Kitchen' on it.

"Y'mean this one?" He asked sarcasticly, getting up again and carrying it to his dad.

"Heh, thanks Rookie.." He said, ruffling the cat's headfur as he took the case off of him. "Glad your up, in fact, I would've sent in a search party for you in there.."

"Heh, glad you didn't.. They'd of messed up my room.." Rook answered, turning and heading back to the sofa.

Just as he reached it, Mrs White came into the room.

"Hey Rook, up finally? Unpacked all your stuff?" She asked, carrying an empty suitcase to a storage cuboard close to the entry door.

"I finished unpacking yesterday, mum.." he sighed, coming over to her as she put the suitcase into the cuboard and closing the door after her.

"Allright, I know the last four days has been just unpacking.. How about you and Maxine go out? Explore the Island? Me and Alan will finish up.."
Mrs White asked, headding back to the room on the right.

"Ok! I'll go tell her!" Rook said excitedly, positively buzzing and rushed into Maxine's room, which was next to his.

"ROOK! What have I said about entering my room without knocking!?" Maxine screamed. She was sitting in her basket, her long cream tail curling around her the blanket she was hiding behind as Rook entered the room. Rook had glimpsed that Maxine hadn't her collar on and his face went red, as did Maxine's.

"Ah, Er, Sorry Maxie.. But mum's allowed u-us out.." Rook said, blushing brightly and looking at the ground.

"Good, fantastic, now OUT! let me get my collar on.." Maxine ordered, reaching for her collar on a bedside table close to her basket.

Rook left the room, closing the door behind him, a dumbfounded expression across his face. I just saw.. Maxine.. Naked.. He thought, the blush growing redder.

"Everything alright, Rookie?" Asked Mr White, his back towards him.

"Ah.. Fine, dad, apsoloutley fine.." Rook answered, shaking off his thoughts of Maxine.

"Where's Maxine?" He asked, plugging a small kettle into the wall.

"Coming out soon.." Rook answered again, leaning back onto the door. Just then, the door opened and Rook fell backwards.

"Ah! Urgh, Rook.." Said Maxine, surprised by Rook lying on the floor in front of her.

"Heh, ow, sorry Maxie.." Rook apologised, getting up and blushing again.

Rook brushed himself off as he he stood, Maxine pushed past him and headed for the door.

"Eh, w-wait for me, Maxie!" Said Rook as he followed her out the door.

"Ah.. Young love.." Whispered Mr White to himself as the door closed.

---

Maxine was walking down the hallway as Rook closed the door.

"Maxie, wait up.." Rook asked as his paw left the door handle.

As Maxine walked along, she noticed a room door left open. She looks in inquisitively as she walks by, she sees a German Shepard standing in the doorway in front of a miraculous mess, and another GS within the room, holding what looks like a walking stick. So that's what that ruckus was a couple days ago.. She thought, and carried on walking.

Rook walked by the door also, but didn't look in. He finally caught up to Maxine.

"So, Uh.. Where you want to go?" He asked, straightening out his collar as he walked.

"I dunno, how about we find a map first and see from there?" Maxine answered sternly, still a little sour from the bedroom incident.

"Uh, yeah, good idea.." Agreed Rook, as they started down the stairwell..

Soon as the two cats were in the hall, a voice said, "Well, well, well, and well again! The cats are out of the bag at last...or the room, as I should say." This came from a grey furred rabbit, a male whose pattern was broken by the entirely white arm. He wore the collar of the animal staff, with a golden dobloon hanging from it. And he wore a monocle. "Glad to see you made it, kittens. Welcome to your first adventurous day on Meriweather!"

Rook & Maxine stopped mid-step as the voice spoke. The turned around in unisen to see the rabbit slightly down the hall from them.

"Uh, Hi?" Was all Rook could muster, still frozen on the spot.

"Y-you must be staff.." Noted Maxine, pointing to the gold coin on his collar.

They both slightly eased after Maxine pointed that out, they were both a little shocked meeting another rabbit! There weren't many where they lived.. The only on they knew was Snow.. He's a bit smaller than the one they were currently looking at.

"I-I'm Rook, and this is-" Rook started, but was cut off by Maxine.
"Maxine Florrell, or Maxie.. Whatever 'floats your boat'.." She added, smiling slightly and stepping forward with paw outstreched.

Great, her 'greeting mode' kicked in.. Rook thought, rolling his eyes..

"Well, we'd be delighted for you to show us around! The island looked beautiful in the brochure.." Maxine agreed, rubbing her paw gently where the rabbit kissed it.

"Eh heh," Khun said, "That's the trick. Now, watch closely or you'll miss something important." Khun inhaled once. Then, (he is right handed) with his hand on the end of the stick, he gave it a little twist down. Part of the stick gave way. Khun then whipped the sword out of the false stick, swung it around fast, then quickly sheathed it again.

"Pretty neat huh?" Khun said, "But, yeah, don't you have your own equipment?"

A giant snake. After everything he had seen, somehow this did not surprise him. It was something "normal," something one was expected to find in the ancient untouched jungles of Meriweather. At least he was used to snakes living around his neighborhood back home. Snakes of all kinds populated the neighboring bayous and sometimes found themselves searching around in the backyards of suburban neighborhoods. None of them were ever large enough to transport goods and people, like this one was probably used to. This was probably like the armored car of the jungle.

"Better than walking I suppose." Lucky nodded as he looked at Stojo."Hope no one here is afraid of snakes."
