Levi stared blankly at the enormous serpent before him, trying to figure out what to say, but all he could say was "wow." he couldn't even wonder how she knew his name.

"Ambassador Victor, you were in the Lycaon group our last Chieftain's war-party captured?" Ulv asked, receiving a skeptical look from Varg "I was one of the Archers back then. Will you permit me to speak freely?" the latter he asked the Cheiftain.

"Yes, or you would've perished on your first journey. Your friend chose you well, isn't that so?" her eyes moved to the space at the left of Levi
And there he was, giving the dragoness a thumbs up. "You can say that again, ma'am!" Bartholomew said

The Moon Howler wrote:"Charlie, you can't talk like this to a Chieftain, let alone to the Chieftain of your own kin and the village we're in!"
Charlie cleared her throat when Balkan explained what she couldn't say to the chieftain. “Sorry…I guess I still have a few things to work out.” She spoke with a chuckle, before she saw Balkan turn and speak in his tongues. “What would I do without you Balkan…” She mumbled for a moment, placing her paw on her hip and smiling.
The Moon Howler wrote:"I'm afraid our 'transport' is getting restless. Come, Charlie!"
Well, restless is not a good thing at all.” She spoke with a smirk, excited that finally, she would be able to return back to the resort to see her father. Considering that it had been quite a few days she had been gone for, Aaron would have a fair few questions for the girl. “Let’s get going then.” She spoke, as she followed Balkan back to the helicopter.

Balkan, Charlie, Ur, Vex and Dimitar got on the Helicopter. The machine lifted with a roar and headed straight for the resort. Shortly after, they were already landing on the heliport.
Dimitar sighed and looked at the Half-wolf.
"Well, if you have any more tricks in your sleeve - I think it's time to use them now." He said with a smile "I will have to write a full report about what happened there. Luckily for you. you'll be spared from that and some other activities. In any case..." He opened the door "... Good luck!" the man said and got out, followed by the canines.

With a roaring sound of moving water, a paw emerged from the lake.
"I'll do better. I'll recommend you to a specialist. Have a nice day, and thank you for visiting."
*snap* her fingers boomed, and *poof!* the group went...

...to reappear in the front of a hut in the middle of Salisgrave. Except for the bat.

"Forgot already?" Bartholomew asked. "This is Salisgrave. And this should be the hut of our eldest shaman. I believe he must be the 'help' Karanta spoke about." his paw tried to pat Levi's shoulder but only managed to pass through the flesh. "Stupid incorporeality! Anyway, you haven't seen weird yet."
"Aw," Reginald said, looking around. "Mom will kill someone if I'm not back when she's back."

"Well, well, well! Looks who the doggie brought back," Spencers said. "I was expecting a stick, a bone...not a pack of wolves and a very late employee of mine. Enjoyed your vacation, Dimitar?"
The guards, humans and animals alike, looked at the warriors with uneasiness. Spencers motioned them to lower their weapons. "I have the distinct impression they are not here to fight. Am I right Balkan?"

The moment he had talked, the door opened by itself...with a weird sound of rusty hinges.
What was visible from outside was a black corridor, an impossibly *long* pitch dark corridor, lit only by a double line of torches (and no, no blue lights for once)

Roarin wrote:"Eh." Flint shrugged and turned his back to Martin. "With life full of dog days, who needs respect?" He said blandly in an offhand manner. "I do stuff cause I want to. I'm not lookin for anyone's approval." The white haired dog raised his hands in the air and stretched. "I respect some people, but I'm not gonna bend over backwards just to please others." He turned back around, a grin on his face. "In the words of Frankie Sinatra. I do it 'My way!' ". Saying the last two words in an unnaturally deep, singsong voice.

After a few seconds Flint shrugged again and looked at his wrist. "Mr. Meyers is probably waiting for us. We should get goin." And started down the street without giving Martin time to answer.
"You don't even have a watch!" Martin exclaimed and followed Flint "Fine, lets get to Mr. Meyer!"
He stopped in place the moment the helicopter could be heard "What's that?"

At Balkan's words, Spencer's eyes brightened. "This deserves indeed a heart-to-heart, my canine friend. Please, let us go to my suite. Do any of you wish for food and drinks to celebrate these fine news?"

Virgil hopped off Bigby's mouth. "I'm happy you decided t'join da residents. But..." he looked around. "No pets with ya?"

Soon as Levi had walked into the corridor, the lights turned off.

Walking in shallow, cold waters, a sloshing sound all around him.

valerio wrote:"Oh," Michael said, still without panting. "A good thing about them is that they play no trick: when they come, they do it for blood. Them rabbits, *now* there's someone tricky and sneaky!"
"There they are!" Murphy barked, stopping, Adrian still in his arm like some life-sized doll.
And there they were, indeed... Balkan and four soldiers dressed with the garments of the special guards, the finest warriors.
"By the Great Trickster..." Michael muttered, seeing their ancient enemies just standing there, calm, surrounded not by angry warriors, but other not less impressed villagers... "Is that a *lioness*?"
Near the Chieftain herself, no doubt about it! A female from the old legends, in the flesh, gorgeous as a living statue.
Adrian wriggled out of Murphy's grasp and dropped to the ground. He stood there watching, not wanting to male some kind faux pas due to his ignorance of the culture. But it was clear that whatever was happening was important.

The dog started walking again, his curiosity of the noise quickly dismissed from his mind. "C'mon let go."

Michael's paw went behind the corgi's neck.
"One day, a scene like this will be common, our descendants will take it for granted. But now..." His voice was breaking, as tears misted his eyes.
"This is history," Murphy continued. "One day we'll tell our cubs that we have seen the end of this absurd war."
Michael chuckled. "Yeah. And they will look at us and mock the old geezers." He bent down and kissed Adrian's cheek. "It was as if you were supposed to be here, with us, in this sacred day."

"He's actually the reason we've got a job here in the first place. Apparently he helped with some important stuff the other day. Oh, and he apparently helped find the remains of a lost citizen of Salisgrave in the same day. That's my boy, being awesome like his daddy," Drake said before Diana slapped the back of his head.

Levi was severely uncomfortable in this situation. He couldn't see anywhere he could get away from the water at his feet, and he was inching closer and closer to a full blown panic attack. Come on, you can't wimp out now, he thought. This could be your only chance to get over this **** phobia of yours.

As he thought this, he was picking up speed. soon, he had reached a full sprint, trying to get away from the water, images from his nightmare flashing in his mind. The screams of young kittens, the sound of splashing water, his biological mother's cries. Soon, he saw a light at the end of the tunnel, but a dim one. He ran to it, hoping there was dry land on the other side.

He found himself standing at the edge of a lake and It was the middle of the night. There was no sign of the tunnel he had just left, but there was dry land next to him. He immediately stepped on it and... He still felt the wetness of the water around his feet. Of course, that would have been to easy, he thought.

nearby, sitting on the edge of the lake, were a human and a female cat, the same breed as Levi. She didn't appear well cared for. She looked malnourished and there were bits of her fur missing. She looked sad. There was a cardboard box sitting next to them, and the man appeared to be consoling her in some way.

Levi was close enough to be able to hear their conversation.

"I'm sorry, Sky, but I can't afford to take care of them anymore. I could barely take care of you before they came along," the man said.

"Why can't we take them to a shelter?" Sky asked, looking pleadingly at the human.
Levi recognized the voice as the one he heard in the spirit realm. He was looking at his biological mother. And seeing her in this state was making him more upset than the wetness at his feet.

"I already told you. You wouldn't get a chance to say goodbye, because if I took you with me, they'd call me a bad parent and take you away from me."

"I... I guess you're right," she said through her tears. "But you're sure someone will find them here? That they'll get a good home?"

"Positive. people come by to clean any litter every morning. They'll just find a different kind of litter this time."

"Alright. Give me a chance to say goodbye and you can put them where they'll be found."

the human walked over to a car, while Sky stayed behind with the cardboard box. Levi went to get closer, assuming that the cat wouldn't see him since this was just a memory. as he got there, Sky was opening the box. Inside were four kittens. Most of them had pure black fur, but one of them had a bit of white fur around its neck line. They were seemingly asleep.

"I'm sorry I can't see you all grow into the fine young cats I hope you'll be. Daddy can't afford to care for five cats. Levi, Flynn, Amy, Selina. I'll miss you all, and I love you very much, but Daddy says you'll find good homes."

One of the kittens opened its little eyes and looked up at his crying mother. He climbed and stood against the edge of the box. "but I dun wanna go, mama," he said in his sad little voice. "I scawed without mama."

"Be brave, Levi. Be brave for your brother and sisters. Everything will be okay. You'll see. You'll have a better life with someone else."

The little kitten was crying, as was the adult Levi. Just two days ago he didn't even think he remembered his biological mother, and now he was watching the moment when she gave him up.

"I'm sorry. But I have to go now. be brave. Don't let anything know you're afraid."

The human walked up to Sky and her kittens. "Did you finish saying your goodbyes?" he asked. Sky nodded. "Alright, you can go wait by the car. I'll be with you in a few minutes."

as Sky walked away, the human turned towards the kittens, especially focusing on Levi. "You should have stayed asleep, little one. This would have gone a lot easier for you."

Little Levi looked puzzled as the human picked up the box of kittens and brought it close to the water. Adult Levi did not like where he knew this was about to go.

"You could have gone peacefully." he picked up Levi and began to walk into the lake.

"M-mama?" little Levi said before the human began to attempt to drown the kitten. He struggled against him, occasionally rising above the water to scream for his mama.

luckily, the cries did not go unheeded. Sky was soon back, and she attacked the human, causing him to lose his grip on Levi. The kitten quickly made his way back to the shore, soaking wet. This was his first time getting wet, having so far only been bathed by his mother's tongue. Sky continued to scratch at the human. "would you leave me alone!? I'm doing this so I can keep you!"

You do not threaten a mother cat's kittens!" she screamed, fighting as hard as she could. Countless times she had done nothing while he abused her, saying it was for her own good. This time, it wasn't her he was hurting.

Ironically, this would be the last time he hurt her, because in a fit of rage, he knocked her harder than she could take. She landed on the shore, having already moved on to the other side.

Levi had already woken his siblings and pulled them all to hide in the nearby bushes. They were all fearing for their lives.

The human looked at Sky, then got very angry. "COME OUT YOU LITTLE *****! THIS IS YOUR FAULT!"

He walked all around, yelling, before he thought to check the bushes. He reached in and pulled out Levi. "If you had just stayed asleep, she'd still be alive."

He began to walk towards the lake again to make his second attempt, but the memory just disappeared, because little Levi had fainted from fear, but before that, there was the distinct sound of police sirens nearby.

Adult Levi was on his knees, crying over his mother's lifeless body, when the memory ended and he was back in the tunnel, kneeling in water. the next thing he remembered from that age was waking up in a shelter with no memory of anything that had happened before that point. He didn't even remember having siblings, all he could remember was his name. apparently he had been in the shelter for an entire week. The others must have been adopted. Or they weren't even found hiding in the bushes.

So that's where his fear was from? On one night, he lost his mom and three siblings, and nearly lost his own life. So any time he got wet, he'd be subconciously reminded of that night. "that's stupid," he said to himself. "a little water won't kill me. Just cause I was nearly drowned once or twice doesn't mean a little water will kill me. I'm braver than that, you stupid subconscious."

He stood up out of the water, drying his tears. "YOU HEAR THAT!? I WON'T LET THIS STUPID FEAR RULE MY LIFE ANY MORE!"

Roarin wrote:"Hmm?" Flint paused and looked around. "Well... it sounds... like a chopper." Flint shrugged, he couldn't see it. Probably landed on some building. "Maybe some rich guy's here to see Mr. Spencers." The dog started walking again, his curiosity of the noise quickly dismissed from his mind. "C'mon let go."
Martin ran to Flint and put a paw on his shoulder "We must meet Mr. Meyer first!" the shepherd said.

Just behind the corner though a resort employee came, running "I'll take it you're Flint and Martin." the young man said, pointing at Flints neck "The collar says it all" the man shook his head "Anyway, you two are to come with me to meet Mr. Meyer and The Boss on the heliport ASAP! After me, please!" the young employee pointed behind him, then turned and headed back fast.

"Okay, so two birds with one shot... Come, Flint!" Martin said and followed the employee.

valerio wrote:"I know you won't. Enemies we may have been, and we both know that frictions are expected in the days to come, but you are honorable people."
"We are raised to follow honor the moment we're first fed by our mothers milk." Varg spoke "And although our honor was twisted until recently, we will raise our youth with the stories of our ancestors, with the stories of their honor so that they one day would become honor-bound warriors and cunning hunters. Such is the way of the wolves."

Ulv grinned "Perhaps we'll be able to learn something from the Lycaons as well or the other way around."

valerio wrote:At Balkan's words, Spencer's eyes brightened. "This deserves indeed a heart-to-heart, my canine friend. Please, let us go to my suite. Do any of you wish for food and drinks to celebrate these fine news?"
Balkan shook his head "With all due respect, Mr. Spencer, but I cannot afford to participate in yet another celebration for the occasion..." the half-wolf spoke "Although I have an Idea - if you don't mind of course - you could make a party along with the lycaons of the Salisgrave." he looked at Charlie and grinned "And also I have a girl that would like to finally get home."

Dimitar simply went past them in a hurry, nevertheless saluting before doing so. He knew that Mr. Spencer was a very accurate man, so he had to hurry with the report... and the double duty shift changes he had to make for himself to make up for the lost hours.

Flint grumbled something incoherent under his breath in response to the employees remark.

"Okay, so two birds with one shot... Come, Flint!" Martin said and followed the employee.
The dog opened his mouth to make a snark comment that would go along the lines of "i don't take orders from you.", but decided he'd save it for another time.
"Right." Flint said instead.
He quickly fell in step behind Martin and the employee, actually happy about this change in pace. He eyes drifted up to the sky. He's never seen a helicopter at a close proximity before. Sure, he's seen them skim the skylines of New York or Chicago. But to see one up close would be cool.
"Sleep is due to me... And I have a dream to live."

Heh, I don't know about that. But nonetheless I'm glad I'm here to see it.

RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:"Last I heard, Levi was spending the night on the other side of the island with a new friend," Diana replied.
Virgil looked at Tacite and whispered. "Is he awesome? The human, I mean."

"Listen to you. Lying to yourself." the thing spoke with a cold, unforgiving voice, filled with scorn. "You know the truth and that's why it scares you so much. *you* should be gone, and your mother should be alive. no matter how hard you try to deny it, your mind knows the truth."

Victor motioned four females to come forward. "In this case, my friends, allow me to prepare the road to such tales, by giving you the chance to share blood and build the future new generations, stronger than ever."

Spencers nodded. "I wasn't thinking of a party, my boy: only, a...more suitable place where to elaborate the details concerning this much unexpected development. Particularly, the role of our scientists, not to mention the tourism. The Green Ring Circle was a no-no area until...what, yesterday?

Adrian looked on completely engrossed by the spectacle. Offering blood? What's that mean?

Levi turned to the figure, but there was no fear in his eyes. Only pure hatred and rage.
"No. It was always you, you cowardly, pathetic *******. If you were a man instead of the spineless beast you are, you'd have taken us all to a shelter and turned yourself in for abuse."

Both brothers giggled.
"It means," Michael explained, "that our tribe will seal the pact by conceiving the wolves' cubs. There is nothing as important as the new blood, for each of the three tribes of Tricana."
---
"Then why are you so scared, scaredy kitty?" the thing seemed to advance as if in photograms. One moment it was there, closer the following.
And it was holding something in its arms.
the limp figure of a cat.
"You are scared because you failed your duty and refused to take her place!"
