Buster lightened his expression and relaxed. "I understand... but next time keep the spear pointed away. That threat could have gotten us killed elsewhere," he said calmly.

"What do you me-" Shukaku asked, cut off by Lyla grabbing him. He screamed as they fell. "Why did you do this?!" he yelled, his fur standing on end.

Tom looked at Tutter, then back at Mr. Spencer. "I merely wish to give you a set amount of money after we see your resort, you can put it into advertising, resort improvements, whatever you want. I get a percentage of the profits you make from whatever you chose to put my money into." Tom looked at Tutter again, "However, before we decide on the details me and Tutter here both want to see your resort, we will gladly accept a chaperon, so long as we each get to see the island from our own point of view."

Janus flashed him a grin. "Well, you surely showed some guts, acting like you just did a few minutes ago. I am impressed, perhapse you *are* learning something."
RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:"I am," he replied.
"Then this deserves an appropriate recognition. Pets you may be, but your...interaction can be a good, leading example. She smiled at the Lycaon Ambassador. "Indeed you chose well in bringing this group to us. I cannot wait to learn more about the rest of them."
Victor nodded, trying to hide the blush burning in his ears. "Your words are too kind, Ambassador."

Spencers laughed at those words. "You know what? I like your attitude! You know what you want, you remind me of myself when I was younger. I will let you explore the place without further interference. When you are ready to take a walk into the wild, just call me." he handed Tom and Tutter a couple of Smartwatches. "Use these. "Depends on what you mean by 'special'," Spencers chuckled. "You see, this island is a rarity, geologically speaking: You won't find another in the world with our reservoir of freshwater. Our fauna, as you'll see, includes very interesting mutations and even a living fossils species that you literally won't find anywhere else in the planet. The most advanced local animal tribes are the descendants of species who migrated here from ancient Egypt. And, believe it or not, someone says there is a true divinity inhabiting the top of Blue Peak mountain... As for the resort in itself, it is provided with the top technologies for cooking, security, entertainment and relax. And I got my own naval museum and State Fleet in the island's bowels, where the old Allied Forces' shipyard used to be -but that is common knowledge. Oh, and please, don't mind it should the native lycaons try a very...friendly approach with you. Since the war, they have kept a very grateful attitude toward our species -that is, of course, if we use respect with them."

Kritaros made himself into a more physical form. He wasn't used to questions like this one and Anubis could tell. "I am Anubis' s protector and spiritual guide. However today I feel more as his brother, we've known each other far to long for me to say I am only his protecter and what saved his life." Kritaros answered somewhat slowly.

"Sigh, just don't like making our security friends upset," Luke said, slightly upset.

"I'm sure it's fine dear," Amber told him, walking backwards towards the tent, "No problem, thank you Donau. Remember, you don't have to hide with us."

Khun looked around eagerly. Minding the current conversation though.

At those words, Ambassador Victor's ears started to blush. It was just ironic that those two pets' relationship and its origins much reflected his and Lukat's.
At least, the female rabbit managed to keep an interested but clinically detached expression.

The gigantic serpent looke interested. "How remarkable. A creature of the aether, immortal in itself, speaking such words. Tell us, how is that possible? Your kind is not...exactly known for such display of affection."

Both Tom and Tutter looked at each other before looking back at Mr. Spencer. "Then why have the need for a chaperon if everything seems to be so fine?" Tutter looked through the file while they waited, everything Mr. Spencer said matched with the U.N already had, maybe this would be an easy mission.

Luke shuddered just a tad. Could he smell the not magic around them too? Could other things do the same? Were they sitting ducks out the open? Luke sighed heavily.

Amber shook her head.

"No, just ancestors, and the god's right of first blood," she said, "And before you ask. No. No idea what gods either. It was always give the first hunt's blood to the gods or else. Which also meant give blood offerings to any local gods as well. Whether they want it or not."

"So, unless Raijda is part fish and can swim forever, we're gonna have to scoop her catch and offer a part at the shrine when she comes up," Luke said.

Now the titanboa was definitely relaxed. It coiled itself into a spiraling mass. "Good. Because change is what makes the Aether such a difficult force to master. The other forces follow their own patterns, but Aether is...chaos. It has to be so. Only its own nature can allow the unity of everything, because in chaos lays the opportunity to create order. And believe me: mortals and gods both can suffer in the attempt to grasp at the simple complexity of such force, that is why few can properly tap into it without causing a catastrophe.
"That is how *we* survived the extinction of our brethren and prospered. Now, are you ready for your first lesson? It will be no shame should you back up now."

Spencer's expression changed to one of amused bitterness. "Because I made a mistake, and underestimated the idea that my enemies could plan on a long scale. They infiltrated their own agents in my staff, both animal and human, and as of recently they attempted to seize the complex in order to steal a hoard of precious digital data. The crisis was averted thanks to a special contingency plan, but the fact remains that I was taken by surprise. And it will not happen again.
"Plus, part of the natives are...reluctant to contact with humans and pets. And I will surely not put your security at risk."

"Were you talking about me?" The black leopardess said...from the branch of a tree. Fishes were hanging from her belt while she was laying on said branch. "Don't worry if you didn't notice me. I will teach you some stealth if you want."

However now anubis became curious at the boas words. "With chaos is order. ..would that be why i caused such destruction that day after so much peace?" "Oh." Tom took a step back and looked over at Tutter, Tutter closed the file and put it away before looking up at Tom. After a few seconds they both turned back to Mr. Spencer. "Mind if I take that walk in the wild with you right now, while my dad here tours the resort." Tom smiled trying to hold back a chuckle, even when that ferret tried to be assertive he always said a word that just derails the mood.

Lukat gestured for the group to stop in the middle of a square. "This is where our village was born, back when our ancestors settled in this area. You are looking at the roots of our village. Those were better times."
The place looked like a crossing between a market and a farm, what with a rich field covering the large circular area, surrounded by small huts and stands. There were a few fires, as the heat was used to cook various types of vegetables. "I hope you won't mind a green diet. But I can assure you, we don't lack in variety." For sure, bread-based product, and vegetables and legumes of all sorts were filling the air with all sorts of smell, from soups, to bakery, fried products and the sweet scents of jams in the making...

The rabbit guards chuckled at that last word. But Janus kept his mood in check...though he had to conceive a way to sneak one of them to an isolated corner and make an example out of him. Just for education...
"Well, it's intriguing. Even after watching those NGW videos, I never thought rabbits could build up their own civilization. Our ferals are too busy playing hide & hide. And what can we eat in terms of protein...ma'm?"
"We grow a native bean that is really rich with proteins and minerals. It won't grow anywhere else, or, at least, one would require too many fertilizers and mineral water. But you will love it, I promise you. It is as satisfying as any meat."
Janus looked around. Yes, definitely that particular ingredient must have helped a lot in incresing the average body mass of these rabbits. And, despite living in a protected environment of their own, they didn't show one ounce of extra fat...
"Do you work out a lot?" the wolfdog asked.
"Oh, in a way. Working is a status in our tribe: we won't allow anyone, not even a chief, to just lay down and waste resources. Of course, such customs came with the war, when survival depended on avoiding being caught, but it comes useful even today."

Luke was just a little surprised but not bothered. He held out a paw to her.

"The largest of your catch for religious rights if you please," he said, "Nonnegotiable."

Amber motioned to Donau to follow her towards the small beginnings of a shrine, standing at a corner, quiet.

Lukat nodded. "As long as the body can sustain the effort, exercise is required. And those whose profession doesn't require it will train with our warriors." She chuckled. "I remember one tourist comparing one of our elder healers to a...Ioda, or something like that."
"Yoda, probably," Levi corrected.
"any chance I could see one of those training sessions? or are those kept secret from outsiders?" buster asked.
"I'd like to see that too. I like to pick up a few exercises everywhere I go, mix it in with my own," Levi added.

Lukat flicked her ears with mirth. "Oh, most definitely not. In fact, city brethren, you are quite welcome to train with our warriors. We are indeed curious to see if having such a fierce and...unsual mate has influenced your skills. If not, we will be glad to help you improve. As for you," she added to Levi, "No better way to pick exercise than training on the field. And of course, Janus of Buster, you can make for an interesting challenge, so I must insist you join the arena as well."
Janus flashed a grin to Buster. "Know what, buns? I *like* these people."

"Okay." Shukaku replied. He took a deep breath and followed Lyla under.

Anubis soon caught on to what was wanted and looked at the scroll as a whole than just as reading. He focused himself some trying to grasp at seeing what the scroll read. Soon hed catch on to a small shift then lose almost instantly the sight. He blinked a few times before looking at the scroll again .

"Nothing of it of course," Luke said, heading to the front of the small shrine, "That is not our clan's way." He then looked to Amber who nodded.

"Raijda, if you please," he said to her, motioning to the opposite corner of Donau and Amber, "This is not exclusionary. It is so everyone has a place."

Snerk, pride leader. Right. Ha ha. Snerk. Sigh. Don't screw this up dummy. Don't screw this up. Luke thought to himself.

The hyena threw an eye backward and smiled at the sight of hukaku following. Then she proceeded among bank of fishes...toward the entrance of an underwater cave, characterized by a soft blue light coming from its depths.

"Then look, Anubis. As your eyes see the words, open your mind to the moment they were written, feel what the scriba felt. Be part of the scrolls..."

"Are you being modest, kitty-boy?" Donau asked from over his shoulder. "Aw, how cute. C'mon, you'd *like* to have a place in the history of your own new tribe and Fourth Tribe of this island. A little vanity is no sin..."

Anubis took the words in as he looked at the scroll he didnt feel any different however kritaros could feel a shift in energy. His eyes caught the sudden surge of aetherical energy around anubis.

Everything around Anubis and Kritaros starts blurring, as if a movie projector were using the fabric of reality itself as a movie canvas. And then, gradually, as the definition begins to improve, the duo finds themselves in an even more ancient room, surrounded by humans and animals wearing aegyptian clothes of various colors, Unaware of their presence. They are working on the scrolls, a small pile of them waiting in the next room. It is night...

Anubis and Kritaros stood still, Kritaros watched everything alter with a wide smile showing he could feel the differences, the use of the aether to alter what was seen around the two. He moved closer to Anubis who continued to look at the scroll. However he felt no difference or saw the change in scenery. He moved the scroll around then shook his head, "ugh, this doesn't seem right. I thought I had it Kritaros I saw something I saw....." Anubis said looking up to see the changes that occurred, his mouth fell open as he looked around. As he watched he saw the aegyptians working, talking and what they did. Confused beyond measure on how this occurred he went to tap the scroll workers shoulder only to pass through him. "what?!" Anubis said a bit panicked.

Kritaros grabbed his shoulder making Anubis turn to see his freind. He slowly calmed down the two staring at each other before another man came in with his dog to speak with the scroll worker, outside a small ritual began. The dog was joined by a cat then everyone left the room. "Anubis.....you did it. You are seeing the past through the scroll using the Aether. And with that, it's without my aid. Are you ok?" Kritaros asked in a very pleased tone.

Anubis closed his mouth and laughed some, he could only nod as his own feelings mixed at the success, at the sight of ancient history unfolding around him, and the mild panic of suddenly being here. Anubis closed the scroll as he looked at the desk where the same scroll was he soon saw his vision blur out everything around him fading untill he was back in the cave as if it was all only a dream.

"Not as much as you like me," Buster joked. of course, he was secretly looking for reassurance that Janus wasn't falling for these other rabbits. he knew he was being stupid, but he's still inexperienced with this whole relationship thing. "Well, I'd love to join a training session.
"
"As would I," Levi added.
